00:00 Sports press Rick Harrow,
00:01 inside the $1.3 trillion business of sports
00:04 with your Sports News Minute,
00:06 brought to you by the Maxwell Football Club,
00:08 focusing on college football,
00:10 now focusing on the SEC, well, the Big 12,
00:13 really Oklahoma and Texas,
00:14 starting the cascade of schools
00:17 and conference musical chairs in 2021.
00:20 They're leaving a year earlier
00:21 than they originally had contemplated.
00:23 And the year after this,
00:25 they give up the $100 million of revenue
00:28 that they would have otherwise gotten,
00:30 but it could have been 180.
00:32 They get their shares of basketball and football revenue
00:35 on pre-existing agreements and other sports as well.
00:39 And the most important issue here
00:40 is that the SEC has to take them in under this agreement,
00:45 which means more money for them under the SEC schedule.
00:50 So the conference musical chairs, not only on the field,
00:53 but has significant off-field implications as well.
