00:03 - All right, finally, week two of the NFL season,
00:05 still a very big number of people downloading
00:07 sports betting apps, FanDuel, DraftKings,
00:11 as you see right there on your screen, right at the top.
00:15 The thing that sticks out clearly,
00:17 as I've talked about previously,
00:18 is just how close the number is with DraftKings and FanDuel.
00:21 I see DraftKings on my screen right there
00:24 as the number one most downloaded.
00:27 Do we have any explanation for that
00:29 or is this just gonna be back and forth all season long?
00:32 - You know, I would guess it would be back and forth
00:36 all season long.
00:37 Last week when we talked about it, FanDuel was on top
00:39 and now DraftKings slightly overtaking them.
00:42 But both apps actually saw less downloads
00:45 in week two than week one.
00:46 That was the case with most of the top sports books.
00:48 So you might just see, it might just be kind of random
00:51 who ends up on top.
00:52 Now I've seen some people suggest on Twitter,
00:55 kind of anecdotally, that because DraftKings refunded
00:58 Aaron Rodgers' bets or there was some sort of controversy
01:01 with the Dallas Cowboys special team scoring a touchdown
01:05 and FanDuel not honoring that as a defensive touchdown
01:08 when DraftKings did.
01:09 I don't really know if that's making a difference
01:11 with people who are downloading the app.
01:13 Maybe it is with people who are staying on the app,
01:16 but certainly I wouldn't imagine those bettors
01:17 are betting a ton of money here.
01:20 I don't think that a refund would be the most important
01:22 thing to them.
01:23 But yeah, I would guess that we're gonna see DraftKings
01:25 and FanDuel kind of go back and forth.
01:27 It was pretty interesting to see that Caesars and Bet365
01:31 were actually the only apps that had more downloads
01:33 in week two than in week one.
01:35 So I don't really know what the explanation is there.
01:40 It could just be more states going online,
01:43 advertisements are delayed or what have you.
01:46 Then you see Fanatics and PointsBet vaulting
01:49 into the top three, the 105,000 downloads in week two.
01:53 So this is gonna be fun to talk about every week
01:55 and monitor and it would be big news
01:57 if we don't have a DraftKings or FanDuel
01:59 on top for one week.
02:00 But I would not imagine that that would last very long.
02:03 And yeah, I do think it's gonna be a flip flop
02:05 back and forth between the top two apps, so to speak.
