00:00 Now we're going there.
00:01 That's what I expect.
00:01 He's not going to make that noise.
00:02 I'm telling you that.
00:03 [INAUDIBLE]
00:05 Try the jumping shot.
00:06 Cut.
00:08 That's what I expect.
00:09 Now I'll be satisfied.
00:11 You're lying.
00:12 No.
00:12 Don't lie to yourself.
00:13 I'm not lying.
00:14 Hey, everybody.
00:15 Wavesquadron reporting in.
00:16 I'm Eric.
00:17 I'm Calvin.
00:18 Aaron.
00:19 Aaron.
00:20 What?
00:21 Oh, shoot.
00:21 I forgot.
00:22 Mellie said to do this.
00:22 Yeah, OK.
00:23 I'm Aaron.
00:25 Hey, you know what?
00:27 Jedi, we see them with beards, but we never
00:29 see them with mustaches.
00:30 You know who we do see with mustaches?
00:32 Imperials.
00:33 Sometimes Rebellion pilots, I suppose, too.
00:36 Like Biggs.
00:36 He had a mustache, didn't he?
00:37 Porkins.
00:38 Yeah.
00:39 Porkins.
00:39 Did he have a mustache?
00:40 Yeah.
00:41 I don't remember.
00:42 I can't remember.
00:42 Look up Porkins.
00:42 This is important stuff.
00:43 This is why you come to Wavesquadron, everybody.
00:45 Did he have a yes or no?
00:47 Go in the comments.
00:47 He either had a mustache--
00:49 Go with your gut.
00:50 --or a goatee.
00:50 Go with your gut.
00:51 Is this in Porkin?
00:52 It's not in Porkins.
00:54 It's very in Porkins.
00:56 No.
00:56 No?
00:58 Because he's got--
00:59 OK, no.
01:00 He's got a mustache.
01:00 And like, yeah, I think his neck beard--
01:02 I was thinking it was like shadows.
01:03 All of you that said beard, you're correct.
01:06 Big boys, we've got to define our jawline somehow,
01:08 you know what I'm saying?
01:09 All right.
01:09 Well, that's not it.
01:10 Last time on Ahsoka.
01:14 Ooh.
01:15 Ooh.
01:15 Ooh.
01:16 Ooh.
01:16 Good stuff.
01:17 Was that you doing a space whale,
01:19 or is that me watching Anakin Skywalker?
01:21 Both.
01:23 Ooh.
01:23 No.
01:24 Ooh.
01:25 It was a great meld of Clone Wars and Ahsoka,
01:28 like getting the old and the new kind of together,
01:29 especially if you didn't watch the animated stuff.
01:32 Yeah.
01:33 And then just progressing our, I don't know,
01:36 mythology, story, lore of the Purgo.
01:40 Yeah.
01:41 And our girl, Ahsoka, who dropped a lot of her luggage,
01:46 her baggage about Darth Vader.
01:48 Space sister.
01:48 And now seems a little whiter.
01:50 And a little whiter.
01:53 Because she's completely decked out in the Ahsoka the White
01:55 gear now.
01:56 And she has silver stuff.
01:57 Yeah, she does have some silver stuff.
01:58 I love her gauntlet.
01:59 The gauntlet looks so cool.
02:00 It looks amazing.
02:00 I do.
02:01 My favorite part.
02:01 It's really cool.
02:02 So yeah, we are on our way to a galaxy far, far away.
02:07 Earth.
02:08 We had a poll last time, I'm sure.
02:11 God.
02:11 I forget what you mean.
02:12 Gosh darn, Patreon changing their app.
02:14 And like, it's old.
02:17 Go to blindwave.com, where you can check out Blind Wave Beyond.
02:21 We're going to be having our poll at the end of this video
02:23 on the website today.
02:24 Yay.
02:25 The poll was, is this truly a force ghost,
02:28 or just a hallucination?
02:30 Notice I didn't put who in there,
02:32 just in case people were going to get spoiled.
02:34 Yeah, don't spoil people.
02:36 88% of people said--
02:39 That it's real?
02:40 Yeah.
02:41 Yeah, I figured it's a good thing.
02:42 88.
02:43 That's a lot.
02:44 Let's see here.
02:45 Aaron Harris says, I hope it's never answered,
02:48 because I don't think it really matters.
02:49 Only how the experience changes, Ahsoka.
02:52 That is the correct answer.
02:53 Good job, you found the hidden option.
02:57 It's kind of like the Morgue Trilogy, right?
02:59 Where we don't really get a great answer
03:00 of what exactly happened.
03:02 It's not set in stone.
03:04 It's up to a little bit of interpretation.
03:06 Resolute Raya says, it's in her mind.
03:08 He was wearing the wrong robes.
03:10 But I think it should never be specified by Dave,
03:12 and leave it all up to interpretation.
03:14 Yeah.
03:15 Whenever you're a force ghost, you get a whole new kit, right?
03:18 You get a whole new outfit.
03:19 Do you?
03:20 Yeah.
03:20 Remember when you showed up in Indore?
03:22 You got the whole new--
03:23 Obi-Wan didn't get a new kit.
03:24 He just wore the same old damn--
03:25 No, you know what?
03:26 He was already wearing the kit, but this was way more fresh.
03:29 Didn't have any sand in the pockets or anything.
03:31 Yeah.
03:32 It was like those beach towels.
03:34 Did he have to remake that on Tatooine?
03:37 Like his robe.
03:38 Did he have to--
03:39 he didn't wear the same one the whole time he lived on Tatooine.
03:42 No, that's why it got lighter and lighter.
03:44 Yeah.
03:44 He had a lease to it.
03:46 What do you think you can do on that?
03:47 It's Jedi robes.
03:48 You think it washes and there's holes in it?
03:51 No, it's good shit.
03:52 Copper Little says, how would the little dude
03:54 hear lightsabers in Ahsoka's mind?
03:58 The same way that Kylo Ren robes Rey trying to go into her mind.
04:03 Yeah, but what about Hera?
04:05 Hera and we heard it too, and we don't have the force.
04:08 We can hear everything, and we saw it.
04:11 They didn't see it?
04:12 No, we saw it.
04:13 I just-- I said--
04:15 What's up, Aaron?
04:16 We saw it.
04:18 Well, here's-- Steve has a good one here.
04:20 Honestly, I don't even think he's a force ghost anymore.
04:22 LOL.
04:23 After re-watching the episode, I kept an eye on Anakin's eyes.
04:26 And while his left eye does turn Sith yellow,
04:29 at the end of the battle when Ahsoka throws away
04:31 your lightsaber, it's clear that even without the red glow,
04:34 his right eye is fully red.
04:36 So yes, I believe he's become the father now.
04:40 A lot of people had a lot of theories about eyes.
04:42 Eyes.
04:43 In my opinion, it was just they're
04:45 using the reflective props, and they
04:47 mess with the contacts that they already have on.
04:50 What else we have?
04:50 But it's a cool idea, though.
04:52 The father.
04:53 I believe it.
04:53 I do.
04:54 I believe it.
04:55 I don't know.
04:56 Because with belief comes doubt.
04:59 We'll end with Kaden Harris.
05:00 He says, either way works, because I
05:02 want this to be a canon appearance,
05:04 because it was perfect.
05:05 It is a canon appearance.
05:06 It is a canon appearance.
05:07 It was fantastic.
05:08 Not a canon appearance.
05:09 A great moment.
05:10 But a moment that only has true weight
05:13 if we get to see how it's changed Ahsoka.
05:16 Sure.
05:16 I mean, that's--
05:16 I heard us being like, I'm happy now.
05:17 That's the ultimate reason for all of it
05:19 happening, regardless of real or not real.
05:22 Yeah.
05:24 So last week gave us a lot.
05:26 What will this week give us?
05:27 Probably nothing.
05:28 Gave me a mustache.
05:29 Don't-- just skip this video.
05:30 I'm sure there's nothing good.
05:31 Starts with a T.
05:32 Yeah.
05:33 Whoa.
05:36 Pretty.
05:38 Is this because it's farther?
05:40 It's faster, too.
05:41 Is it Virgo, or is it because we're going faster and farther?
05:43 Those are galaxies, not stars.
05:44 Virgo acting, yeah.
05:47 Perhaps you have a story for me.
05:49 Something was going on.
05:55 She could have ended this.
05:58 But then we wouldn't save Ezra.
06:02 No war.
06:03 And no Ezra.
06:05 Thank you.
06:07 On second thought, tell me one of those stories.
06:12 Who?
06:12 Your choice.
06:14 Very well.
06:15 I want to hear one.
06:16 A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away.
06:22 All right.
06:28 Now we're going to come back, and we're
06:29 going to be in the story he's telling.
06:30 I want David Tennant to tell me all the Star Wars scripts.
06:33 Let's just start reading them.
06:34 That'd be cool.
06:35 Right?
06:35 Yeah.
06:35 We don't even continue with the whales.
06:37 We're in a whole different--
06:38 Old Republic.
06:38 Far, far away.
06:41 We're focused to find Ezra Bridger, blind, sir.
06:44 I believe she can still give some news to us.
06:48 Tracking complete.
06:49 We have arrived at our destination.
06:51 We're here.
06:52 Preparing to exit hyperspace.
06:54 The galaxy's going to be like--
06:56 everything's purple.
06:57 I'm going to guess space and stars and whales.
07:00 Oh, look at that.
07:02 That is Pyrrhidia.
07:10 Pyrrhidia?
07:11 The ancient homeworld of my ancestors, the Dathomiri.
07:14 Huh?
07:15 My people were among the first to harness and ride
07:18 the creatures in the days before time was counted.
07:22 The whales came here to die.
07:24 Pyrrhidia is a graveyard.
07:26 That's different.
07:31 Yeah.
07:32 Oh my god.
07:34 Whale--
07:34 Whale fall.
07:35 The ring of the planet is a whale graveyard?
07:39 Holy shit.
07:40 That is so metal.
07:42 This is-- what's Lion King?
07:44 Oh, no, it's not.
07:45 It's Kitchen Spacer.
07:47 So are there more Dathomiri than, like,
07:52 night sisters and home planets?
07:53 There must be.
07:54 Their home planets got to be like the Lissat.
07:56 Like, oh, those are all Lissat.
07:57 I guess, yeah.
07:58 Yeah.
07:58 Poor Grievous.
08:00 He didn't do genocide.
08:03 Like he hoped.
08:04 Oh!
08:07 Damn it.
08:09 You made me sad.
08:12 Oh, dude.
08:13 That looks like a good game.
08:14 That's live-action night sisters.
08:15 Bari Spencey live-action night sister.
08:17 You fool.
08:18 No, dude, like, for realsies.
08:20 We know what we're talking about.
08:21 She casted magic?
08:22 She's--
08:23 It was night sister magic.
08:25 You didn't-- you fucking didn't even tell
08:27 she was a night sister when we first saw her.
08:30 Yeah, because it was subtle.
08:32 Yeah, because it was--
08:33 The lead was buried.
08:34 It was a reveal.
08:36 Fuck.
08:38 I feel like you're making my points for me.
08:40 What are they doing?
08:51 It's a seeing stone.
08:53 Yeah, it's like the place they were at for the galaxy map.
08:56 Oh, they all have blue.
09:03 They have three.
09:04 That's a better system.
09:08 Welcome, child of Dathomir.
09:11 To our ancestors' credit.
09:13 It reeks of Jedi.
09:18 They know Jedi.
09:21 Which one?
09:22 Yeah, I was going to say.
09:23 Him?
09:23 Her?
09:24 It is dangerous.
09:26 They're looking at her.
09:28 I figured they probably--
09:31 Oh, no.
09:32 Death balls.
09:33 Hey, we had a deal.
09:35 Where is Ezra?
09:37 Where is he?
09:38 They don't like Jedi.
09:39 They really don't like Jedi.
09:44 Anything that smells like Jedi.
09:46 Dude, I love the interactive lighting with those things.
09:50 So cool.
09:50 Name's Jabba.
09:55 What are those?
10:02 They have so many wolves.
10:03 Some kind of wolves, yeah.
10:04 Some kind of reptile wolves.
10:05 They kind of remind me of-- maybe.
10:07 They kind of look like the Lothwolfs, I thought.
10:09 It's going to open, but it's going to be somebody else.
10:14 Yeah, OK.
10:24 Oh, no.
10:25 That's a different kind of rumbling.
10:29 You ring the clink?
10:34 Wait, has Thrawn arrived?
10:36 I think so, yes.
10:39 I think it's the Hydra.
10:41 The Chimera.
10:42 That's it.
10:43 Ah, the Chimera Calvin!
10:44 Yes, that's what I meant.
10:47 Oh, look how derelict it is.
10:51 It's like it's in a graveyard.
10:52 It is.
10:53 It's been consuming itself to stay.
10:55 I want to see the bottom.
10:56 Yes!
10:57 Oh, my gosh.
11:02 I love the music.
11:04 It's missing, yeah.
11:05 X-Wing is hanging in the background.
11:11 Oh, he's got a lot of Stormtroopers.
11:15 Whoa!
11:18 He's got to be like--
11:19 Oh!
11:20 Oh, shit!
11:23 Enoch.
11:24 It's Enoch.
11:26 Enoch, he becomes Metatron, the voice of God.
11:29 What a hell of a name.
11:30 [GROWLING]
11:33 [LAUGHTER]
11:35 Love how they're replacing the cracks with gold.
11:38 It's like what Kylo did with his helmet.
11:40 Are they like--
11:41 It's a Japanese practice for undead.
11:42 Yeah.
11:45 They have a lot of red on them, like Sister Magic, man.
11:47 Yeah, I know.
11:48 Yeah.
11:50 You got red on you.
11:52 [SIGHS]
11:54 Those troopers wear a seat.
11:57 [LAUGHS]
11:58 Those are hot.
12:00 Dude.
12:00 What was first just a dream has become a frightening reality
12:04 for those who may oppose us.
12:06 The prisoner is Sabine Wren.
12:13 Now, that's a familiar name.
12:14 Yeah.
12:14 Mm-hmm.
12:15 You're quite right.
12:20 She'd be of great use to us.
12:22 He doesn't blink.
12:23 No, he doesn't.
12:25 It's so good.
12:28 Oh, man.
12:30 I'm so happy for Lars.
12:31 [LAUGHS]
12:34 It's almost weird seeing the voice come out of the face.
12:36 I know.
12:37 It is.
12:37 It really is.
12:39 Where's Ezra?
12:41 Ah, yes.
12:44 The desire to be reunited with your long-lost friend.
12:47 How that singular focus will reshape our galaxy.
12:54 Just answer the question.
12:56 I'm aware of your agreement with Begum Skull,
12:58 and I intend to honor it.
12:59 You shall have provisions, a mount.
13:08 I thought he was in on it.
13:09 No.
13:11 It's also quite possible that your friend is dead.
13:16 If you survived, I'm sure he's doing just fine.
13:25 I have faith in my friends.
13:28 Oh, my god.
13:28 You gambled the fate of your galaxy.
13:31 He's so unnerving.
13:34 On that belief.
13:36 You wouldn't understand.
13:38 What kind of ride you got around here?
13:42 [GROWLS]
13:43 Perhaps a cowler.
13:44 Oh, is it the wolf things?
13:45 Yeah, it is.
13:46 Is it a bat-looking thing?
13:48 Or a rat?
13:49 It's a bat dog.
13:50 Oh, they give her her armor and stuff?
13:54 Yeah.
13:55 People locator, activate.
14:02 Oh.
14:06 Oh.
14:07 Oh, no.
14:08 That's not right.
14:09 He said--
14:09 No.
14:10 Wait.
14:10 No, that hurts.
14:11 Oh.
14:12 Oh, the cool hat.
14:13 That is a cool hat.
14:14 Oh.
14:15 Got him.
14:15 [INAUDIBLE]
14:16 Your face, I guess.
14:17 I mean, come on.
14:18 Man, what if they shot her in the face?
14:20 They should have.
14:23 Dude, the samurai look is so cool.
14:25 Oh, shocky, shocky.
14:31 Oh, that was good.
14:33 Oh.
14:34 You had a close quarters weapon that you could use.
14:41 Well, she's going to have to.
14:43 She's lost both her pistols.
14:45 Oh.
14:46 Yeah.
14:48 Y'all haven't seen this in this galaxy.
14:51 [INAUDIBLE]
14:54 Well, if they knew about Jedi, it's probably like--
14:59 [INAUDIBLE]
14:59 So good.
15:00 [INAUDIBLE]
15:00 Pancho.
15:01 [INAUDIBLE]
15:03 It's not a pancho.
15:04 Yeah, it's Pancho.
15:05 It's not a pancho.
15:06 It's doing everything a pancho should do.
15:08 You mean not cover half your body?
15:10 Improve your silhouette.
15:12 It matters not whether Ren and Britch are killed or stranded
15:16 here.
15:17 The same can be said for your two mercenaries.
15:20 I never realized how tall Lordas was.
15:29 He is tall.
15:30 At least compared to--
15:31 Notice that Star Wars celebration?
15:33 I was--
15:33 Man, everyone was tall on that stage.
15:36 No, they weren't.
15:37 You abandoned me.
15:40 Aw, it's not even fall.
15:41 I should have known you were a coward.
15:43 Aw, you don't know me.
15:45 I'm just brave.
15:49 If anything bad happens to this, I'm going to burn the set down.
15:53 What?
15:53 Did you guys know that?
15:54 To this rat dog horse?
15:55 If anything happens to this rat dog horse--
15:57 It's a bat.
15:58 I will set the table on fire.
15:59 There's no wings, Calvin.
16:01 It has bat ears and a bat face.
16:03 It could be rat ears and a rat face.
16:05 No, it's not rodent at all.
16:08 It is very rodent.
16:09 Not at all.
16:09 Bats are flatter.
16:11 This is very spooky.
16:11 [INAUDIBLE]
16:14 Is that why I stink?
16:15 I'm like a rat.
16:18 OK, fine.
16:21 I'll give you another chance.
16:22 You better not bail on me this time.
16:24 Got it?
16:25 You suppose it--
16:30 Is it out of his skull?
16:32 He's out here with no friends.
16:35 It's a rock.
16:37 You're embarrassing yourself.
16:40 Is one of them a fake rock?
16:42 [GROWLING]
16:45 Oh!
16:47 It's a crab person.
16:49 The turtle rock thing.
16:51 OK, yeah, that trick's over.
16:52 Crab.
16:56 Get up.
16:57 Come on, I can see you there.
16:58 It's like a mermaid crab.
16:59 I love this new galaxy.
17:03 Can it talk?
17:04 I just want to explore.
17:06 I'm not going to hurt you.
17:09 He's got a little jacket.
17:10 [GROWLING]
17:12 It's practical.
17:12 [SPEAKING JAPANESE]
17:20 Oh, recognize that symbol?
17:22 Similar to what's on Ezra.
17:25 Oh, what you got there?
17:30 How is that possible?
17:32 Ezra, do you know Ezra?
17:34 He's Ezra.
17:36 He's not Ezra.
17:37 [SPEAKING JAPANESE]
17:39 [LAUGHTER]
17:41 It's a whole community.
17:42 I love it.
17:43 I didn't notice these.
17:44 [LAUGHTER]
17:45 [SPEAKING JAPANESE]
17:51 It's like a little village.
17:52 Yeah.
17:53 Oh, Boulder City.
17:55 Don't eat anyone.
18:00 Oh!
18:01 [LAUGHTER]
18:03 They won't miss the little one.
18:04 [LAUGHTER]
18:07 Oh, it's a baby.
18:10 Mm, a soft shell.
18:11 [SPEAKING JAPANESE]
18:13 I wonder if they have to try to replace shells,
18:15 or if their rock shell grows with them.
18:18 I don't know.
18:19 Like, is it more tiny?
18:20 Like, once a year, they change out shells.
18:22 The baby had a tiny shell, so I figure it probably grows with
18:24 them.
18:25 It grows with them, and then they paint it like a rock.
18:27 Or it just becomes that.
18:29 I love the slower pace to show so much of them.
18:35 So cool.
18:38 I knew I could count on you.
18:39 Yeah.
18:39 [LAUGHTER]
18:57 He's got a beard.
18:59 Yeah.
19:00 Though, it sure took you long enough.
19:03 Oh, he's perfect.
19:06 It worked, didn't it?
19:10 Didn't it?
19:10 It worked.
19:15 And I undid it.
19:20 Now we got to find our way back.
19:21 Stopped drawing.
19:22 Oh, we got Ezra.
19:24 Ezra's theme.
19:25 Mm-hmm.
19:25 [MUSIC PLAYING]
19:27 [CHILDREN PLAYING]
19:30 Ah!
19:31 That one back there had a whole bunch of crap on his shell.
19:34 Like a merchant traveling--
19:36 Like a-- yeah, like a shaman kind of thing.
19:38 Oh.
19:39 Do you know that he has, like, little, like--
19:43 Chain mail?
19:44 Yeah.
19:44 Yeah.
19:45 I have so many questions.
19:47 You're riding a howler.
19:48 How'd that happen?
19:49 In fact, how did you find me?
19:52 How did you get here?
19:54 That's awesome.
19:56 Let's not talk about that.
19:58 Not right now.
20:00 Sabine?
20:01 Hey.
20:02 I just want to be happy that I found you.
20:05 After all this time, can I have that?
20:10 No, because Vaylin and the raiders are coming.
20:12 Yes.
20:13 Thanks for coming.
20:17 Hm.
20:19 Can't wait to go home.
20:22 So cool.
20:23 It's cool.
20:24 I hope they go home.
20:25 She has no plan.
20:29 This is as far as she got so far.
20:33 The threat of fate has spoken to us.
20:36 Another comes.
20:38 A Jedi.
20:39 They ride the travelers.
20:42 Well, that is unwelcome news.
20:46 If a star whale approaches Peridia,
20:51 destroy it with prejudice.
20:54 He does not like them.
20:55 Grandmothers, I shall once again require the aid
21:01 of your dark magic.
21:03 The thread of destiny demands it, Grand Admiral.
21:07 [MUSIC PLAYING]
21:10 No.
21:16 What?
21:25 Wes Chaddam is--
21:27 that's--
21:29 Yeah.
21:29 That's that guy.
21:30 Yeah.
21:31 That's that guy.
21:31 That's that guy.
21:32 It's from Expanse.
21:33 I'm that guy.
21:34 He's that guy.
21:35 He's Enoch?
21:37 Captain Enoch.
21:39 Show me his face.
21:40 It's so pretty.
21:41 No, it's covered with a thing.
21:43 You know how many pretty people have
21:44 been covered with their face?
21:46 Also, Claudia Black.
21:48 This is Claudia Black.
21:49 Claudia Black.
21:51 I want to see.
21:52 [INAUDIBLE]
21:54 Waste time on error.
21:55 You know you can't just be--
21:56 all right, that is--
21:58 no, hold on.
21:58 Let me see again.
22:00 Yeah, you're going to try to read the information app.
22:02 Now you mean--
22:03 No, what's the sci-fi show that--
22:05 there used to be a mod that I used to play on Giant Outcast,
22:12 and it had characters from this other sci-fi show.
22:14 And I remember being like, these look really Star Wars.
22:17 Something scape.
22:17 Farscape?
22:18 Farscape.
22:18 Was she in Farscape?
22:19 Yes.
22:20 OK, Farscape.
22:21 She's in Farscape.
22:24 I thought it'd take a long time to get there.
22:26 OK.
22:27 She's also in Stargate.
22:29 Wait, who's she playing?
22:30 I was going to say Stargate.
22:31 That was my assumption.
22:32 One of the--
22:33 The Great Mothers.
22:34 --Great Mothers, yeah.
22:35 Oh, we get their names?
22:36 Jane Edwina Seymour.
22:38 I feel like I recognize that name, too.
22:40 OK.
22:42 Jane--
22:42 All right, well, sorry.
22:43 Jane Seymour.
22:44 Wait.
22:45 Having Weston here is awesome.
22:46 I hope we get to see--
22:48 Isn't that--
22:48 I didn't get to see his face.
22:49 I couldn't hear him properly.
22:50 I feel bad, but I love him.
22:53 He has a mask, and his voice is modulated.
22:55 I know.
22:56 There's no way to know it's him.
22:57 I would have loved him 10 times more if I knew it was him.
23:00 It could have been--
23:01 I'm not exaggerating.
23:02 Maybe 11.
23:03 It could have been Brett Dalton or frickin' Donald Glover.
23:07 You know?
23:07 You'd have no idea with the way they modulate
23:09 the voice and the mask.
23:10 I know, but it's just cool to have Farscape
23:14 and the Expanse in here.
23:16 She's the Borg queen in Star Trek.
23:19 I wouldn't know.
23:20 Damn.
23:20 I wouldn't know that.
23:21 All right, well, look up--
23:22 What is Gerald--
23:23 Look it up!
23:24 --Lucien Galeon.
23:26 I don't know who she is.
23:28 Is she from something?
23:30 I don't recognize her.
23:31 I'm sorry.
23:31 But she's in a great line of--
23:34 yeah?
23:35 Maybe.
23:35 Also, like, Criminal Minds, maybe?
23:40 OK.
23:41 I haven't watched that either.
23:42 I've lost interest in this bit.
23:44 Bit?
23:44 It's not a bit.
23:45 It's information look-up.
23:46 I don't want to talk about it.
23:47 This is the information look-up, and you cut it out,
23:49 and you put the stuff you need, you know?
23:51 But it's not sci-fi.
23:52 Eric, there's nothing to talk about in this episode.
23:54 It was really slow and boring.
23:56 Dude.
23:58 Dude.
23:59 We got a secret Nightsisters origin.
24:02 That's crazy.
24:04 I like that we're expanding upon what--
24:07 not necessarily Nightsisters, but the Dathomiri.
24:11 Yeah.
24:12 Right?
24:12 The Dathomiri Empire.
24:13 The Dathomiri.
24:14 That's-- OK, they're from Dathomiri.
24:15 And then we're like, well, there's a Zabric.
24:17 And I'm like, I've always been like,
24:18 but what's going on with this and this and this?
24:20 And now they're like, yeah.
24:21 They're like, here's an origin.
24:22 Here's where their ancestors came from.
24:23 Yeah.
24:24 And then they came out and did this.
24:25 Yeah.
24:26 Kind of like Lissat.
24:26 We talked about that a little bit with Lissat.
24:29 Yeah.
24:29 It's really cool.
24:30 Yeah.
24:30 Yeah.
24:31 But stemming from an entire other galaxy, which
24:35 it really works for me just because I
24:37 know Dave Filoni, who wrote this,
24:39 has been on the forefront of like,
24:41 so what's the Dathomiri magic?
24:43 Is that the force?
24:44 And he has to hear George Lucas be like, no, it's not.
24:47 And then Dave's like, how is it?
24:49 How isn't it?
24:49 It should be, shouldn't it?
24:51 But now you kind of are threading it
24:53 being like, well, it could be, but it has origins
24:55 in a whole other galaxy.
24:57 And we know that the force itself and midichlorians
25:00 all stem from the wellspring of the force
25:03 at the center of our galaxy, which might imply it doesn't
25:06 yet--
25:07 Extend.
25:08 --apply to others.
25:09 You know?
25:09 Which I was kind of like, we know
25:12 Balon is at least still feeling something, right?
25:15 So I'm assuming that the force still exists.
25:18 I just don't know if it's permeated throughout this world
25:22 like it has in our galaxy, you know?
25:24 Yeah.
25:25 I just don't know.
25:25 There's so many questions there.
25:27 But one, I like that those questions remain unanswered.
25:30 And two, it just adds so much more
25:32 to what Dathomiri magic could be,
25:36 where it might not be exactly the force,
25:39 but it could be an analog, or it could be related.
25:41 It could be like an opposing force to it in a way,
25:46 but still utilized the same way.
25:48 I don't know.
25:48 There's so many cool story threads
25:50 that you can go with that.
25:52 So many more unknowns to our gnomes.
25:54 Yeah.
25:55 Yeah.
25:56 Yeah, it'd be interesting to see what they do,
25:58 what Dave does with that more.
26:00 I'm also like, are we going to get those witches off
26:03 this planet, you know?
26:04 Like with Ahsoka coming and having Ezra here,
26:06 like, is that something that we are going to venture in more?
26:09 Or is this going to be kind of like,
26:10 here's a little bit of information,
26:12 and we're not going to dive into it too deep.
26:13 You're just going to get a thread of it, you know?
26:16 Because they also have that feeling
26:17 of being the sisters of fate, right?
26:20 Like in Hercules and Greek lore and stuff,
26:22 where they have their kids read, right?
26:24 What's wrong with these scissors?
26:25 Those are new people you know.
26:26 The daughter, the mother, and the crown, or whatever.
26:29 Yeah, like those kind of--
26:30 they have that kind of feel about them,
26:31 of the great mother and stuff.
26:33 It's neat to--
26:35 I don't know.
26:35 Dave's voice seems to pull from different things,
26:37 and it seems to be pulling from a--
26:39 Are they transferring supplies from the ship or to the ship?
26:43 I can't tell.
26:44 I think to--
26:45 I think probably to the ship, and they
26:48 are taking the night mothers with them.
26:51 Yeah, and they're dead.
26:53 They also talk something about the catacombs and stuff too.
26:55 Yeah.
26:56 What do they say?
26:56 I've seen the catacombs.
26:57 I think they're--
26:57 Going to take you at least two rotations, right?
26:59 They're emptying the catacombs, which
27:01 maybe that's their army that they
27:03 need to be able to attack, you know?
27:05 I mean, I wouldn't doubt it.
27:06 What would you keep in catacombs, you know?
27:08 Usually bodies.
27:10 In France, there's a lot of dead stuff.
27:11 There's a lot of catacombs.
27:13 And dead people.
27:14 And speaking of a lot of dead people,
27:17 maybe those stormtroopers.
27:20 Yeah.
27:20 Maybe.
27:20 Yeah, that was one of my thoughts too.
27:22 Like, I don't know about how much they lost though.
27:25 Kind of like, I'm like, eh, maybe, maybe not.
27:27 But looking at them, even the way they walk,
27:29 like they don't seem quite as rigid in their walk.
27:33 Like, you know, like you watch stormtroopers
27:34 in the original trilogy.
27:36 They're marching, right?
27:37 Clone troopers are marching.
27:38 When they're taking the one stuff, I don't know.
27:41 It looks like they're kind of just moving.
27:43 Like, I don't know.
27:44 There's not too much, I don't know, rigid tension.
27:48 It doesn't feel like they are characters
27:52 in manufactured suits.
27:54 It feels like they're CG characters.
27:57 Like, the ones that walked--
27:58 I didn't get that.
27:59 What shot?
28:00 The ones that walked behind Enoch
28:01 when Thrawn was walking up, they looked CG.
28:05 He didn't, but they looked CG.
28:09 I just meant motion-wise and stuff
28:10 of comparing the marching aspect.
28:14 Because even the clones in prequel trilogy were all CG.
28:18 But very much so, yes.
28:20 But they felt like they would march.
28:22 And they were very soldiery.
28:24 These guys, if they're undead stormtroopers that are just
28:30 being used like Merrick or whatever,
28:33 maybe they aren't quite as rigid in their discipline.
28:36 [LAUGHS]
28:38 You know?
28:39 Though, whenever they all turned and walked with him,
28:42 I felt like that was more in uniform than some
28:44 of the other stuff they're doing.
28:46 Yeah.
28:46 I mean, just ex-Imperial--
28:47 yeah, ex-Imperials that have been--
28:49 I mean, they were like chanting Thrawn.
28:51 Like, they've been under Thrawn's thumb for 10 years.
28:54 Well, sure.
28:56 But yeah, whether they're some type of Nightsister thing
28:59 or not, they're very different, very cool outfits.
29:02 And in terms of action figure stuff,
29:08 the problem with Hasbro right now
29:10 is they rely a little, in my opinion, too much on, well,
29:12 we already have this done.
29:14 So now we just need a new head.
29:15 And we can just sell this figure again.
29:17 But with stuff like this, you can just kitbash and make
29:20 endless amounts.
29:21 And I won't be upset.
29:22 Because it'll feel like a new character or a new mold.
29:25 Sure.
29:25 Yeah.
29:26 Yeah.
29:26 That's just really cool.
29:27 Because it won't just be like Chewbacca with black plastic.
29:32 Oh, man, that was so bad.
29:33 [LAUGHS]
29:33 They've made a new one.
29:35 But--
29:36 Good.
29:36 I know that's a very niche Star Wars area
29:39 that not many people care about.
29:40 But this entire episode, like the--
29:42 Very few people other than you have complained about.
29:44 I'm just saying, the snail people, the Nightsisters
29:48 themselves--
29:49 The Howler.
29:50 The Howler, like the Stormtroopers, Enoch
29:53 and his amazing face plate.
29:55 There's just so many cool--
29:56 The bandits.
29:57 Yeah, the bandits.
29:58 There were so many cool new designs.
30:00 Well, yeah.
30:02 I feel like the second group we saw looked just
30:03 like the first group we saw.
30:05 Sure.
30:05 But it wasn't--
30:07 Awesome, just as awesome, you mean?
30:09 Like, four, three designs that just
30:12 look the same as the other four.
30:13 Yeah, it's exactly like what Praetorian Guards were.
30:16 They came in pairs of two.
30:17 Yeah, but that makes sense, I think, because you get--
30:20 with them, I feel like that's a organization, a discipline,
30:24 a soldier group.
30:25 Also, they're fighting styles and kit and everything
30:30 match each other because they work together.
30:33 They work as a team.
30:34 Yeah.
30:34 Whereas, as bandits, usually I picture them more of like,
30:37 they're just kind of putting together whatever they have.
30:39 Kind of like Fallout.
30:40 But they may not, and they may have more of a--
30:43 maybe they have more of a uniform aspect about them,
30:45 too, where it's like the guy with the big helmet,
30:47 that's the leader guy.
30:48 This guy's got a broken horn, that's
30:50 because he's a big melee dude.
30:51 I mean, if they're bandits, then they're probably
30:53 some kind of former military.
30:55 Possibly.
30:56 Well, that's one thing, too, is where are they from?
30:58 Everyone on this planet, except for Thrawn and the sisters,
31:02 are covered in armor.
31:04 So anybody could just be an undead weird creature.
31:08 I have no idea.
31:09 Where do these nomads come from?
31:11 What kind of species would they look like?
31:14 Sure.
31:16 It's possible that many different species
31:18 have come to Pyrrhidia on the backs of space whales
31:23 throughout history.
31:25 It could be one of those seed worlds
31:27 where a lot of people go to.
31:29 Maybe.
31:30 They mention about the night sisters
31:31 trying to harness the--
31:32 Ride them.
31:32 Yeah.
31:33 Yeah.
31:34 Which is awesome.
31:34 The night sisters in the old EU rode Rancor's,
31:37 but now Boba Fett does that, so they upgraded.
31:40 Now they ride space whales.
31:42 Yeah.
31:43 But my thought on the bandits is maybe they
31:45 could be male night sisters.
31:48 We've never really had those.
31:49 Oh, OK.
31:50 I've always kind of thought the night sisters a little more
31:53 like-- they're kind of like Gerudo from Zelda,
31:57 where they're primarily female and they find races
32:00 that they can breed with.
32:01 So it's kind of what I always thought of with them.
32:04 And now I feel like it might be even more.
32:06 I don't know.
32:06 I have no idea.
32:07 Being such a patriarchal society.
32:07 It's possible, but also it might not be.
32:09 Because whatever we had before were just Zabrix.
32:12 I know, but Zabrix also have the weird history
32:14 that they're also a species that originated on Iridonia.
32:18 And there's always been this kind of weird thing.
32:20 Well, Dathomir and Zabrix are a little bit different.
32:22 They call it-- so there's always been this idea
32:24 that they were never the exact same species.
32:27 Exactly my point.
32:27 That's what I'm saying.
32:29 Could this planet where the ancestors originated,
32:31 could they have a male version of the night sisters?
32:34 And maybe they don't have magic, or maybe they
32:36 are looked at differently.
32:37 Or maybe they're exiled because they are males, or who knows.
32:40 So I'm just wondering where these--
32:41 Or because they don't have magic.
32:42 Yeah, so I'm just curious on the nomad bandit kind of quality,
32:45 like where they come from.
32:46 Or nomadge.
32:49 No, I will not evoke fantastic beasts.
32:51 All right, nomadge.
32:52 Yeah.
32:52 Didn't like the first one.
32:53 Yeah, we'll call them nomadges from now on.
32:55 Not good.
32:56 I mean, it's just a shortening of no magic.
32:59 Yeah, with a K.
33:00 It doesn't mean it has to be connected.
33:01 It's the American version of Muggle, Calvin.
33:02 It doesn't have to be connected to fantastic beasts.
33:06 I wasn't even thinking about it when I said it.
33:08 Weird.
33:08 You brought it up, and you have a problem with it.
33:11 If you hadn't brought it up, nobody
33:12 would have a problem with it right now.
33:14 Well, let's call them Muggles.
33:17 Muggles?
33:17 No.
33:18 It's a word.
33:18 It's already been used.
33:19 You can't have it.
33:21 I--
33:22 Yeah, you wrote it.
33:23 For it to be a word, it has to have already been used,
33:26 Derek.
33:26 Can't copyright it.
33:30 Every word has already been used.
33:32 Nuh-uh.
33:32 Not--
33:33 [GROWLING]
33:34 That's not a word.
33:35 It is.
33:35 What's it mean?
33:36 It means peace.
33:37 Be with you.
33:37 [LAUGHTER]
33:40 I'm pretty sure Lumpy said that.
33:41 I'm pretty sure that was--
33:42 [GROWLING]
33:44 I did like the--
33:47 I want to say--
33:47 I want to call it a metanus.
33:49 I like that we have this moment with Ahsoka and Hu Yang
33:53 talking about the history of the galaxies, part one, two,
33:56 and three, where it's like these stories for kids that
34:02 probably have some kind of moral and different aspects
34:05 like that.
34:05 It kind of makes you think a little bit of Dr. Stone,
34:07 like the 100 Tales and stuff.
34:10 And then you get to Balin talking about this
34:13 is a child's story come true kind of thing, right?
34:16 Like, this is based on a fairy tale
34:18 I was told when I was younger.
34:19 You don't know this because you weren't in the order.
34:21 You were too young for it, you know?
34:22 But they had this long time ago in a galaxy far, far away
34:26 story in their universe.
34:28 And it's just got this meta feeling of like, oh,
34:31 as a kid, where you're like, oh, that's a children's story.
34:33 Like, Star Wars isn't real, but it could be real kind of thing.
34:36 And I was like--
34:37 I found that to be kind of a fun--
34:39 Very sweet.
34:39 --meta-like discussion about the fairy tale of it all, you know?
34:45 That's not his name.
34:46 Yeah.
34:46 I mean, this episode, to me, felt way more fairy tale
34:50 than it did science fiction.
34:52 Sure.
34:52 A very high fantasy.
34:53 Yeah.
34:54 Which I think Star Wars needs.
34:55 That's why at one point I was like, we went to Willow.
34:58 We're on whatever that planet is.
35:01 Maybe that's what it is.
35:02 War Davis comes out, he's going to be like, I'm a wand.
35:05 Hiya.
35:05 I would love that.
35:09 I loved just the kind of slower focus moment with--
35:13 I mean, I don't know if his name's Tota,
35:15 but the howler in Sabine.
35:17 I just really liked that we took the time
35:19 to give character to this.
35:22 And any other movie or TV show would just be like,
35:24 here's a horse, go.
35:25 And we just gave it a bit of a character.
35:28 It was fun.
35:28 Yeah.
35:30 Like Lord of the Rings.
35:31 Yeah, a bit.
35:33 Cool part.
35:34 Didn't the horse save the airplane?
35:36 What was his name?
35:37 Horseyboy.
35:38 [LAUGHTER]
35:40 That's a game.
35:41 [LAUGHTER]
35:44 Yeah.
35:45 That's such a dumb name.
35:46 What was his name?
35:48 Breaka.
35:49 Is that what it is?
35:49 Huh?
35:51 Huh?
35:51 What was it?
35:52 What'd you say?
35:52 Breaka?
35:53 No.
35:53 Oh, damn.
35:54 Breaka, I said.
35:55 Breaka?
35:56 I don't know his name.
35:57 Damn it.
35:58 Horse.
35:58 Did you whisper it under your breath?
35:59 Yeah, I was like, Breaka.
36:00 Longface.
36:01 I don't know.
36:02 Why the longface?
36:05 OK, yeah, we got a lot from Balin in this episode,
36:08 including when he was speaking of Ezra.
36:13 The concept of a Bokken Jedi.
36:15 Now, a Bokken is a wooden sword, a Japanese wooden sword.
36:19 It's a training tool.
36:21 Yeah.
36:22 But I think even-- because we looked up Bokken not too long
36:24 ago.
36:24 I think it even means, like, sword, wood, Bokken, you know?
36:30 But yeah.
36:30 So that would mean Luke Skywalker is a Bokken Jedi.
36:37 Like, not formally trained in the Jedi Order, really.
36:43 Like, he would be just as much trained as Ezra
36:45 is by the remnant of a Jedi Order, you know?
36:50 Sure, I guess so.
36:53 So like a Jedi trained in the wild,
36:55 not under an official Jedi Order, I guess.
37:02 A wooden sword used to practice.
37:03 It's usually katana-shapey.
37:08 Yeah, specifically for Kendo.
37:11 Mm-hmm.
37:13 Yeah, it has a specific discipline name, too,
37:16 if I can remember right now.
37:19 Because like some practices, like,
37:22 they teach you to only use a Bokken,
37:24 not ever graduate to a sword.
37:26 I wonder if that was used before then.
37:30 It must have been, right?
37:31 The idea of a Bokken Jedi.
37:32 You mean like in--
37:33 It must have been like during the Clone Wars.
37:35 Like, didn't Ventress never make it to the Order?
37:40 Wasn't she trained other--
37:41 She would be a Bokken Jedi when she was a Jedi Master.
37:44 Even though you're like--
37:45 Even though there's a Jedi Master who is in the Order,
37:48 I believe, or at least was at one point--
37:50 But he was exiled.
37:51 Her training would have been in the wild.
37:55 I would put that just as much as Kanan training Ezra.
37:57 Yeah, but what I'm saying is like it's not
37:59 like it's a thing that happened because the Order was
38:02 destroyed.
38:03 No, I don't think--
38:03 Probably a terminology that was used of just someone
38:06 being trained in the Jedi Arts, not actually
38:10 officially within the Order.
38:11 Sure, like if I'm trying to measure up like, OK,
38:14 so we got some Jedi here.
38:16 It's like, well, he's a Bokken Jedi,
38:17 so he's a little unpredictable.
38:18 He doesn't really follow the standards
38:20 of some of the others, maybe.
38:21 Sure.
38:21 I'd almost put like--
38:23 if in the story, like who's Quinlan's Master?
38:26 Like--
38:26 Quinlan?
38:27 Like it'd be interesting if he was like originally
38:28 a Bokken Jedi and then came into the Order later on.
38:31 I know in the old EU, he was trained by a Wookiee, I think.
38:34 Oh, really?
38:35 But I can't remember.
38:36 I don't know if there's any canon stuff.
38:38 I don't know.
38:38 I just find him to be an interesting one
38:40 because of being like that Native American type of feel
38:43 about him.
38:43 Like he's been trained in the wild as a Jedi
38:47 and then eventually gets brought into the Order
38:49 after his training has gone through already.
38:51 Yeah, it'd be a neat way to have him.
38:53 I think he was trained by a Wookiee and then Aayla Secura
38:55 was his Padawan.
38:58 At least in the old Republic.
39:00 When John Ostrander made those characters, that's how it was.
39:04 Man, I always saw them as like peers, not like--
39:07 Yeah.
39:08 No, she's a lot younger.
39:09 I didn't think he was that old.
39:10 Yeah, he's a warrior.
39:11 Yeah, I think that's part of it, too,
39:12 is I didn't think he was as old as that.
39:13 I just love the--
39:15 the subtitles called him naughty,
39:18 like little snail people, little crab people.
39:20 Naughty.
39:20 But I just love the--
39:23 Naughty language.
39:24 The extended look we got at their culture,
39:26 their nomadic setup.
39:30 But they were just--
39:32 yeah, they make you just want to explore.
39:35 Like, there's just so much potential in a brand new galaxy.
39:38 I mean, there's endless potential
39:40 in the current Gax Lure, and let's not kid ourselves.
39:43 But this could just--
39:46 it's almost, for me, it feels like a shame that everybody's
39:48 just like, let's get out of here.
39:50 Thrawn and Ezra are like, let's go.
39:52 But I don't even know if--
39:54 like, the Chimera doesn't even-- is it space-worthy?
39:57 We've seen it in the atmosphere.
39:59 I don't know.
40:00 I imagine maybe what we'll have to do is use some magic for it.
40:04 In Jedi Fallen Order, you have a night sister
40:08 there who like, plopes you in magic,
40:10 and you're invisible to get through into a planet.
40:15 Maybe there's something like that
40:16 that they can do where it's like they envelop it
40:18 in a safety bubble.
40:21 That's how it got there.
40:22 It came down in a bubble.
40:24 That's how it got there, right?
40:25 Ezra did that, effectively.
40:28 Well, and even back then, too, the glass
40:30 was cracked and stuff, too.
40:31 And then they still traveled through hyperspace, right?
40:34 So maybe you don't need to have air in super whale hyperspace.
40:41 I don't know.
40:43 I don't know.
40:44 All right, let's get to it.
40:46 Lars Mikkelsen came on the scene as Thrawn.
40:49 And it was-- it's so perfect that it's unnerving.
40:53 It's so weird, too.
40:55 It's nearly the same as like, Vader's entrance
41:00 walking to meet the emperor, right?
41:04 Sure.
41:05 It's nearly that.
41:07 Yeah.
41:08 I just-- there's something about like the voice,
41:11 but like seeing it come out of a person
41:13 instead of like in a cartoon.
41:15 It's weird, right?
41:17 I don't know.
41:18 I mean, for me, weird in a good way.
41:20 Yeah.
41:20 Is it weird for you in a bad way?
41:21 I don't know.
41:22 It's just weird.
41:23 Like--
41:25 I want to use the word perfect.
41:26 I've watched an animated Phil Coulson, right?
41:30 Where it's still Clark Gregg voicing him.
41:32 Sure.
41:33 And I'm just like, oh, yes.
41:34 That's the voice that should be coming out of that mouth.
41:36 Because I'm used to the live action one,
41:38 and that's what it is, you know?
41:39 But this is the first time I can think of really having it
41:42 in the reverse, where I've had like, here's the voice actor.
41:45 And now we have the live action person doing it and stuff.
41:49 I love the voice.
41:50 It's just a different thing that you have to get used to,
41:52 I think.
41:53 I just think that it's so rare that we're
41:54 in the presence of actual perfection
41:57 that it's like, it's fucking with us.
41:58 Actual perfection?
41:59 Man.
42:00 Yeah.
42:01 He looks amazing.
42:03 You know how long I've been waiting for a live action
42:05 Grand Admiral Thrawn?
42:07 No, I mean--
42:08 Decades.
42:08 I mean, it's really cool to have,
42:09 especially after having watched Rebels and enjoying Thrawn
42:12 and that.
42:13 I think it's easier to put a real face
42:17 and not have the uncanny valley of an animated face that's
42:22 meant to look similar, rather than an original animated face.
42:26 And then having the real actor's face,
42:30 like, it's like going backwards in definition,
42:36 where it's easier to see a high res image in a low res
42:40 image that's far away, right?
42:42 Yeah.
42:42 We're just taking a low res image
42:43 and then trying to make a--
42:44 Make it big in high res close up.
42:47 I get what you mean.
42:48 It's interesting.
42:50 I've enjoyed it.
42:50 Like, Hu Yang isn't as different for me,
42:52 because he almost just looks one for one.
42:55 And it's the same voice.
42:56 And I'm like, OK, now we have that character here.
42:59 It's just Thrawn has been here for a while
43:02 and gone through some stuff.
43:05 But it's just weird to hear his voice.
43:06 The only thing that bothers me--
43:08 The only thing at all that bothers me a little bit, Eric,
43:13 is his hairline.
43:14 What about it?
43:15 It looks like a wig.
43:17 Which I'm sure probably is--
43:19 Small hairlines look like a wig if your skin's blue.
43:23 Do they?
43:24 Yeah.
43:25 Put blue on your skin.
43:26 I'm like, look at the hairline.
43:27 He's not going to blue himself.
43:29 No, it's cool to have Thrawn in live action.
43:36 And--
43:36 It's cool to have that voice be a part of it.
43:39 The voice, the eyes, the expression,
43:44 everything else is perfect.
43:45 I like him better than when we got the Grand Inquisitor
43:48 in Kenobi.
43:50 Sure.
43:50 I like having Lars' this much more.
43:53 Plus, the story of that was weird.
43:56 Having the voice is the thing that makes it work so much.
43:59 I just wonder how hard it is to have that voice while acting.
44:03 Because I feel like in a voice acting sense,
44:05 you can really push your voice because that's
44:09 all you're using.
44:10 Here, you're trying to find that middle ground of,
44:12 I have to act and be Thrawn-like while making
44:15 sure I have that same kind of voice and cadence
44:17 and everything.
44:18 So it's probably a little trickier.
44:20 Well, the acting involved in being Thrawn on screen,
44:25 it's so subtle.
44:26 And most of the expression is in the voice.
44:29 I think that lends to it a little bit, too.
44:32 Because he can be so passive with his physical expression
44:40 and acting that his vocal acting,
44:45 it screams to make up for it.
44:48 Oh, and that's the character.
44:50 He has to be subtle because he's constantly
44:52 judging your expression.
44:54 You can't judge his.
44:55 Like a lie detector.
44:56 It doesn't change.
44:57 Exactly.
44:58 Yeah, it's exactly like Tim Roth from "Lie to Me."
45:00 I just mentioned "Lie to Me" yesterday.
45:01 Calvin Durner, one movie.
45:02 Right?
45:03 Sure.
45:03 What the hell are you talking about?
45:05 [INAUDIBLE]
45:07 But honestly, it was all nailed in the one exchange
45:10 where Sabine is like, you just don't understand.
45:12 And he just waits so long.
45:14 And it's, perhaps not.
45:16 You know?
45:18 She, in that moment, is very emotional in her eyes.
45:21 And he's just looking at her.
45:23 And then emits, perhaps not.
45:26 It felt like all the thrones that are in my head
45:29 put together.
45:30 Like the throne from "Heir of the Empire,"
45:32 the throne from "Rebels," and the throne from the books
45:35 that Aaron and I have covered on the channel, which
45:37 you should check those out.
45:38 They're fantastic.
45:39 I think that you can just-- even if you don't read the books,
45:41 I think that you would enjoy those videos.
45:43 I'm waiting to see--
45:44 Or I'm seeing a cohesive throne.
45:47 I'm waiting to see if any of that stuff from the books
45:49 really plays any part in anything that's going on.
45:52 Yeah, I mean, right now--
45:53 I don't want it to just feel like everything
45:55 in that character from those books is just kind of like,
45:58 we don't really care about any of this.
46:00 But I also know not everyone's read those.
46:02 So I don't want to feel like they came out of the blue.
46:03 But I think they're handled--
46:04 We're already doing that for people
46:05 that have been reading those.
46:06 I think they're handled with Sokka very well, as far as,
46:07 like, hey, you haven't seen animation?
46:09 We're going to make sure you're covered
46:10 and understand what's going on with these flashback
46:12 elements and stuff.
46:13 Yeah.
46:15 Yeah, it's juggling a lot of plates.
46:16 I mean, I want that to be a thing.
46:18 But they're already juggling the plate
46:19 of people that haven't seen "Rebels"
46:20 and have no idea who this character is as well.
46:23 So I'm sure primarily, that's the largest plate
46:25 they're spinning.
46:26 And over here, I would like some consistency
46:28 with how incredible the character is in those books.
46:31 I will be very interested--
46:32 I don't know if there's numbers or anything with it,
46:33 but how many people go back and watch "Rebels" and "Clone
46:36 Wars" and that kind of stuff after watching "Ahsoka."
46:39 Sure.
46:39 I imagine there's going to be a--
46:40 you know what?
46:41 I better go watch these and kind of get
46:42 more of the story and stuff, you know?
46:44 It better be a lot.
46:45 It's going to be so much.
46:46 And it better translate to people watching reactions.
46:48 [LAUGHTER]
46:52 I want to see those spikes.
46:54 And then we have--
46:55 oh, good.
46:56 What did you guys think of live action Ezra?
46:59 He's a bit of a dog in a sack.
47:00 Well, good.
47:01 I didn't take anything away from you.
47:03 He feels like an Ezra 10 years older.
47:06 It sounds like Ezra.
47:07 I think it looks close enough to Ezra.
47:10 I think the other thing too is--
47:10 He has to sound like Aladdin.
47:12 It works.
47:12 You have him there.
47:14 It's been some time.
47:15 He's grown a beard.
47:16 He's a little older.
47:17 It's like having--
47:19 I think this works better than having
47:21 Freddie Prinze Jr. voice Kanan in "Bad Batch," you know?
47:25 Yeah.
47:25 Where it's like, I know he's trying to be young,
47:27 but he sounds--
47:28 like this works better.
47:29 He sounds like a 40-year-old man.
47:31 Yeah, this works the other way, where it's like,
47:33 there was Ezra, and now he is older, and he's this guy.
47:35 But it's still-- he's been kind of--
47:38 I feel like he's delivering the same kind of feeling
47:40 of Cadence and stuff of Ezra, which I think is great.
47:42 Oh, yeah, absolutely.
47:43 Cadence is the exact word I would have used.
47:45 The what?
47:46 The Cadence is what I would have used.
47:47 Yeah, it's exactly the same as Taylor Grett, I think,
47:50 was his name, the play has her?
47:51 Taylor Grett.
47:52 And I think the Sabine actors are doing pretty good too,
47:56 for being Sabine and being 10 years older,
47:59 and going through some stuff and everything.
48:01 Definitely feels more like season three and four Sabine,
48:04 whereas season one and two, Rebel Sabine
48:06 was a little more lighthearted.
48:07 But a little more not so down on herself.
48:13 Whereas this one, we still have the mystery of,
48:15 apparently because of Ahsoka, or something not trusting,
48:19 her family was killed in Mandalore.
48:20 We still have that line from Balin
48:24 that I'm assuming we're going to try to settle,
48:26 or figure out what happened.
48:27 But Balin says-- or no, Thrawn, right?
48:33 Who is it that said, it is that singular focus,
48:37 that will reshape our galaxy?
48:39 It was Thrawn.
48:40 Thrawn said that, right?
48:42 Like the singular focus of finding
48:43 Ezra, which is not necessarily--
48:46 it's not inherently a selfish thing, but it can be.
48:48 He was so shocked that she was like,
48:51 you would risk the fate of your entire galaxy
48:53 for one singular focus.
48:57 Just one person, not even the Emperor.
49:02 And I'm so curious what the plan is they have,
49:04 if that's the thing he said too.
49:06 Like what's-- like risking their galaxy.
49:08 Like what's the big threat that he even views that he's
49:12 bringing to the galaxy?
49:14 It's got to be tied to whatever Balin is sensing out there,
49:17 right?
49:17 Yeah, that's a great comment.
49:19 The greater power, yeah.
49:19 What is that?
49:21 Joss made me think of Willow.
49:22 Yeah.
49:22 [LAUGHTER]
49:24 They said that the Nightsisters--
49:26 and this is their homeworld-- they're fleeing a power
49:29 greater than their own.
49:30 Well, that's what--
49:31 That's Balin's assumption.
49:31 --Balin's assumption.
49:33 Because he's sensing something.
49:34 Yeah.
49:34 He doesn't know what it is.
49:35 Yeah, he senses something else out there.
49:37 Something calls to me.
49:38 Something stirs.
49:39 Yeah, so I wonder what it is.
49:41 Something inside the planet.
49:42 At first I thought, like, well, what
49:44 if in this galaxy the Nightsisters defeated
49:47 the Jedi in like some war?
49:49 And now because of just atrophy and stuff like that,
49:55 this galaxy sucks.
49:56 And now they want to leave and take over another galaxy.
49:59 Yeah, I don't know what--
50:00 Teaming with life and whatever.
50:01 But it seems like there's something badder out there.
50:05 Which is another thing, too, is that the Great Mothers--
50:09 I don't know if it's because of the visions and stuff they have.
50:12 They do have like a trade connection.
50:14 Or what exactly the reason is.
50:15 But they seem to be able to smell Jedi and don't like--
50:19 you know what I mean?
50:20 So like, is that because of a history
50:22 that they do have with them?
50:24 I mean, they have to know about them.
50:26 There has to be a reason that those fairy tales exist.
50:28 Is it the thread, you know, that they're
50:30 connected to with like the dreams with Morgan
50:33 and that kind of stuff?
50:34 It feels like they've never left here.
50:36 At least these ones.
50:37 That's what it kind of feels like.
50:38 He said that they've been exiled, too.
50:40 So yeah, where's the fairy tales come from?
50:43 Have we been here before?
50:44 Is it related to things from like--
50:46 High Republic has dealt with a lot of hyperspace kind
50:48 of travel things.
50:49 You could bring some of this into there or something.
50:51 Or the Old Republic.
50:52 Or further back.
50:54 Did anyone else have a thought where--
50:57 this is one of those tinfoil theory kind of ideas.
50:59 But whenever Balin is talking about wanting
51:02 to go to the beginning, and I'm just like,
51:04 is he going to use something?
51:05 And he's going to be the guy who goes back
51:07 to that like Bible epic 25,000 years ago story of finding
51:10 the force, you know?
51:12 Which one?
51:14 Like way back in the beginning, Eric.
51:15 Damn it, I didn't get his shirt.
51:16 Hit it.
51:17 Punch him.
51:19 Dawn of the Jedi.
51:20 Dawn of the Jedi, you mean?
51:21 Yeah.
51:22 I should get that tattooed.
51:25 Like how useful that would be.
51:27 Well, you see.
51:30 Yeah, but you get it tattooed on the front.
51:32 And so you can look down and see the timeline.
51:34 Ooh, yeah, right up the center.
51:36 DeBaba, one of the people that worked with us last week,
51:39 they were over at the whiteboard.
51:41 She was a little confused about the timeline,
51:42 so Kyle was explaining the timeline.
51:44 You know, funny how he was like, well, actually--
51:46 just casually conversation.
51:47 Have an excuse to take a picture.
51:49 I love the idea of tattoos that you can use.
51:51 Like I love the guy that has a ruler on his thumb or something
51:55 and he just uses it.
51:55 But that would be so funny.
51:59 But that was a random tinfoil hat theory idea.
52:01 But I'm just curious on what he's looking for,
52:03 where he's talking about going to the beginning and--
52:05 Well, he talked about the cycle of violence, right?
52:07 Sure, which is like these guys rise, then they fall,
52:10 then something else rises, then it falls, right?
52:12 Cycle of power specifically, though.
52:15 Like violence is used to gain power,
52:17 but they always lose it eventually.
52:19 And he's like, this cycle never ends.
52:22 I hate it.
52:23 I want to go to the beginning and stop it.
52:25 So what's the beginning of power?
52:27 What's his plan?
52:28 What's he looking at?
52:29 We know he kind of has some visions of the future, right?
52:31 Does he have stories of like--
52:36 is it like a world between world thing that he's seeking?
52:39 Or is it like a father thing that he's seeking?
52:44 I'm curious on his motives a lot.
52:46 Because there's that wiggle room we talked about where sometimes
52:48 he doesn't seem as--
52:50 like he didn't kill Sabine.
52:51 He's keeping his word.
52:52 A lot of Sith wouldn't do that.
52:53 But he has that honorable feel about it.
52:55 He's not quite Sith.
52:57 He's something else.
52:59 I mean, they even describe him as a mercenary.
53:01 And he said, I didn't train you to be a Jedi.
53:04 I trained you to be something more.
53:06 Right before they killed that officer in the first episode,
53:08 we're not Jedi.
53:09 Yeah.
53:09 Sure, yeah.
53:10 But I don't necessarily feel like we are Sith.
53:13 No.
53:14 Yeah.
53:15 Can't be.
53:15 Had to be trained by a Sith to do that.
53:18 Like Ventress, she was like, I am Sith.
53:20 Duke was like, ha ha.
53:21 Ah!
53:23 Lights up like a Christmas tree.
53:25 Sure, I guess.
53:29 But yeah, I'm just--
53:30 Balin has been one of those characters
53:31 that I'm just like, what's he going for?
53:33 Where are we going with him?
53:35 Hope they get a good story with him.
53:36 I lay so much down at Ray Stevenson's feet
53:40 because I feel like just the dialogue that you have,
53:43 other actors could go a different way.
53:45 But he's so subtle and reserved sometimes.
53:49 He has such--
53:50 Like he wants to say more but won't.
53:52 Yeah.
53:52 And he's like, I got to figure this out before you figure it
53:54 out.
53:56 He just brings a lot to the table.
53:57 And it's so bittersweet to see one of my favorite actors
54:01 in one of my favorite franchises and knowing
54:03 that when this season is done, that's it.
54:07 It sucks, but it almost makes it more special.
54:10 Yeah.
54:11 That's why I'm curious on what they did with this story.
54:14 Because I'm hoping that he has a good conclusion in this
54:18 or something too.
54:21 Of all of these characters, it feels
54:24 like he exists between the scenes more than the others.
54:29 Because he feels like his thoughts and his--
54:34 he just feels broody.
54:36 And he's had time to think and everything.
54:38 Yeah.
54:39 Such a great performance.
54:41 And I quite liked Shin in this as well.
54:45 Being a lot more--
54:46 like she just seems like she's a lot more interested versus just
54:49 following orders.
54:50 Yeah.
54:50 Like she wants to understand.
54:51 Well, she's participating in this plan,
54:55 not just executing it.
54:58 Yeah.
54:59 That one part was like, ah, they're just stories.
55:02 Or like, I don't know, but you're
55:04 standing on this planet.
55:05 Like, this is significant.
55:06 And I think that that's really hitting her.
55:10 Also, for the people that have read the other Thrawn books,
55:13 and this might come into it, but there's a part here
55:16 where Thrawn--
55:17 I want all the information about Sokotano, like her master.
55:20 And I want to be like, he knows Anakin Skywalker.
55:25 And he knows what will be coming to him too.
55:27 And if that's what we do here, that's going to be interesting.
55:30 No.
55:31 That would be one thing I'd be nice to pull in with that.
55:33 It's not a huge thing, but even just people who know,
55:36 like, well, he's part of the Empire.
55:37 He was in there.
55:38 He's aware of Anakin and Darth Vader, as a lot of people,
55:41 especially now, are.
55:43 It's been a few years, and there's a lot more people than
55:46 when Darth Vader was around that are aware of Anakin
55:48 and his legacy and everything.
55:50 So yeah.
55:52 It could be really cool to have those two talking.
55:56 You know?
55:57 Ahsoka and Thrawn, and a discussion of that,
56:00 or him messing with her, or whatever the case is.
56:03 Sure.
56:04 Or just the knowledge that Anakin was not
56:07 a traditional sort of master or Jedi.
56:16 Like, just having another wild card in there, like Ezra.
56:21 Yeah.
56:23 He didn't even catch that she still has a saber, did he?
56:27 Well, it doesn't look like his anymore.
56:28 Yeah, she has modified it a bit.
56:30 But I bet you when he gets a good look at it, he'll see it.
56:35 Oh, man, I hope he made a new stapler.
56:37 Lightsaber.
56:38 That was my favorite.
56:38 How would he make a new one?
56:39 I don't know.
56:40 Do they have kyber crystals here?
56:41 Maybe.
56:41 I don't know.
56:42 Where would he get a kyber crystal?
56:43 I don't know.
56:44 But then-- you're going to hold on for that?
56:46 How did the Jedi get here in order for the Nightsisters
56:49 to know about them?
56:50 Hey, did those Jedi not use lightsabers?
56:53 Because that would be an interesting thing.
56:55 Maybe not.
56:56 Maybe those Jedi used battery packs
56:57 with things connected to their lightsaber on the bottom.
56:59 Or kyber lightsabers.
57:00 Would they still use kyber for the blade?
57:04 Or would they--
57:04 I'm not sure.
57:06 I just know they had battery pack backup,
57:08 like old legends-y things.
57:09 Yeah, the backpack.
57:10 I don't think anything of that is in canon anymore.
57:12 I don't think so.
57:14 There's old stories or rumors of that idea, I guess.
57:16 Legends.
57:18 If anyone knew, it would be in the Jedi archives.
57:23 Joe Costa knew.
57:24 No.
57:26 Thank you.
57:29 All right, we need a poll for this episode,
57:32 episode six of "Ahsoka."
57:35 Well, guys, a poll for this week.
57:36 We want to know what your thoughts are on the storm
57:38 troopers that Admiral Thrawn has.
57:40 We want to know if you think if any of them are dead.
57:43 And then we'll have some options ranging between most of them
57:46 to none of them.
57:47 So if you think it's a ridiculous idea,
57:49 and they're all alive, then tell us that.
57:51 And for the first time ever, you can go to blindwave.com.
57:54 Just go to the video page for "Ahsoka 1-6" and find the poll.
57:59 It's there?
58:00 It's there.

58:01 Yeah.
