Designing Infiniti

00:00 And everything we're doing, I feel that we keep that sense of the challenger, the fighting
00:10 the status quo.
00:17 We've gone back to Japan and some key words like the expression in Japan of "ma" which
00:23 is the mastery of the empty space, which deals with Japanese architecture and how they can
00:28 make minimalism have emotion and meaning.
00:32 Those are the aspects that we think about as we move forward.
00:36 This sense of beauty, this sense of sculpture that existed in the Prince with its power,
00:41 the sense of innovation from a technology point of view in the Q45, in the FX, innovation
00:47 of design and proportion, and in the Q60 of this beautiful sense of power and romance
00:54 of the coupe.
00:56 Coming here to Pebble this year, we really wanted to change the way our pavilion is structured
01:01 actually and we thought, why don't we just elongate this structure and give the sense
01:05 of the history of our company and the future of our company.
01:09 So very much we're using architecture and the design of our vehicles together to really
01:14 show where we're going as a company.
01:17 We start with the Prince coupe and then we created a nice open patio floor and then it
01:23 led you into this white space, this sense of ma, this clean minimalism.
01:30 Of course with Infiniti we're really in love with the sense of luxury should be lived in.
01:35 The platforms as you see on these models, very open.
01:39 So electrification has given us a kind of magic carpet where the batteries are all nicely
01:44 organized on the floor.
01:46 It allows the instrument panels to become quite thin, the center console to be more
01:50 of a bridge and it really allows you to settle in and to get comfortable.
01:56 We really want to create a luxury environment that has a sense of Japan and a sense of the
02:03 future and very much a sense of the world.
