Transcript
00:00 >> We were kind of just hit but just early on Alex Goldwich and his new tenure.
00:05 What's the excitement level after getting rid of Jeff Scott,
00:08 obviously not so hot one, we're going one and 11 and
00:10 I think he only had two in season a couple of times.
00:13 What's been the excitement level moving from Jeff Scott to Alex Goldwich,
00:18 the hot shot offensive coordinator from the Tennessee Vols?
00:21 >> So I'll be honest with you, it's been a very tough go from Charlie Strong,
00:26 the Jeff Scott era, it's been a long six, probably six, seven years.
00:32 So the fan base is excited but they wanna see it and I really think that Alex
00:36 has really shown what he's gonna do, what he's about.
00:40 And you can already see it on the field.
00:42 I've seen more from his coaching style than I saw in Jeff Scott in three years.
00:47 So I mean, that says everything.
00:48 >> Elaborate that, when you say you see more from his coaching style,
00:52 are the players more motivated, more prepared?
00:54 Or is there a better plan to attack the opposition?
00:58 What's been the biggest difference from Jeff Scott to Alex Goldwich in your
01:01 opinion?
01:02 >> Attitude, preparation, expectations that are real,
01:05 that you have to live up to or else you're gone.
01:08 I mean, this is high quality football.
01:09 I mean, you can go play somewhere else that's not D1 and do that and
01:13 that's kind of how it felt under Jeff Scott.
01:15 Alex is not playing any games, he wants to do everything perfectly.
01:18 He wants to follow all the rules, set a standard and stick to it.
01:20 And I think it's really important, especially when you're coaching young
01:23 adults, 18 to 22 year old, that new direction and
01:26 examples of how they should and should not be.
01:29 And that goes through from the locker room to how they do in school,
01:32 to their personal life and into their futures in their career.
