20:35 kinda how you were commenting on the episode
20:37 throughout, like the aesthetic of it was really cool.

20:43 we really got to focus on Usopp.
20:46 We got to get a little bit more like Nami,
20:48 like into, you know, her state of mind
20:51 and kinda grow her character a little bit more.
20:53 Yeah, I feel like, even though they're in the episode,
20:56 I feel like as far as development goes,
20:58 Luffy and Zoro kinda took a back seat
21:00 and like let us focus on these other characters.
21:02 But yeah, I really, I really dug it.

21:25 But then I was surprised to see him pop back up.
21:27 And yeah, no, I enjoyed the episode.

21:31 of better, fuller feelings once we see
21:34 how this section of the arc wraps up.
21:37 - Yeah, I like what they're doing with Buggy
21:38 because I think they're stripping him down
21:41 and then they're rebuilding him back up,
21:42 which I think is gonna be really cool.
21:44 I feel like he'll be,
21:45 he'll amount to something really important.
21:47 As opposed to just like another villain or a threat,
21:53 another clown villain in the wide pantheon of IP
21:57 that we have out here.
21:58 So I think that that's a cool way to set him up.

22:31 He's just kind of doing his job right now.

22:34 but you're like, I've been up to something
22:35 like really messed up about.
22:36 - I don't trust him.
22:37 I feel like he's manipulating that kid.
22:39 - I mean, it feels like he's manipulating him
22:40 because he's the one,
22:41 he knows that he can use him to get to the pirates.
22:43 - Yeah.
22:44 - But he's getting him to buy into him with trust
22:48 as opposed to the way that,
22:50 'cause I feel like they're doing this kind of
22:53 underlying thread with him,
22:54 where when you first meet him,
22:56 he's with that one pirate woman
22:57 who was just using and abusing him.
22:59 And now he's being used again,
23:02 but in a way that he'll think is respectable and endearing
23:07 when really he's just being used.
23:08 - Yeah.
23:09 - And it also creates a cool complexity for him.
23:12 You may say that word a lot.
23:13 It creates a cool complexity for him
23:15 because he has that relationship with Luffy.
23:20 He knows that, hey, like, yeah, I know bad pirates,
23:24 but Luffy's not part of this category that you're hunting.
23:26 - Yeah.
23:27 - But he's- - Luffy's the first person
23:28 that's ever kind to him.
23:29 - But he's also building up the loyalty with the Marines,
23:33 which is gonna make his decision make it even harder.
23:35 So I like that.
23:36 And it also gives like someone who's like that timid
23:38 to grow, I think is really neat.
23:42 And then of course, yeah, I mean,
23:44 everything here at the house,
23:45 I think was really interesting.
23:47 It was really odd, strange, weird eccentricities throughout.
23:51 I love the twist that we got
23:53 with the reveal of who the butler is,
23:55 as opposed to just another butler guy
23:57 who wants to inherit the fortune.
23:58 Like it was a little predictable
24:00 of what the twist would be on what he's really trying to do,
24:02 but then the reveal, oh, like he's actually some,
24:05 you know, another one of the supernatural pirate characters.
24:08 Like, oh, okay, I didn't actually see that coming.
24:10 That was clever.
24:11 That was really cleverly done.
24:12 And I love the performance.
24:14 So again, terrible names.
24:15 What's the guy's name?
24:16 The guy who just met, hung out with the whole time?
24:18 - Usopp. - Usopp, loved it.
24:20 I thought he was great.
24:21 There's so much an adventure spirit
24:25 that you can feel compliments Luffy
24:28 in a way where you could see them becoming
24:29 like really great friends.
24:31 - Oh yeah.
24:32 - And I like the people who keep joining
24:33 the band of misfits because you get
24:37 that tangible feeling that Luffy is constantly inspiring
24:42 in a way where he might not even intend to sometimes.
24:44 Like he knows how to motivate, he knows how to connect.
24:47 And then there are times where, you know,
24:48 even the most hardened shell of people
24:50 will end up coming along the ride with him.
24:53 - Yeah. - Yeah.
24:54 - It's his naive optimism and like his lack
24:58 of social awareness that makes him so endearing.
25:01 - Love it.
25:02 - Yeah.
25:03 He really feels like a live action anime character
25:06 that's brought to life.
25:07 And I was like, wow, I feel like this is the first time
25:08 I've seen that archetype truly brought
25:11 and it works.
25:12 - Yes.
25:13 Yeah, there's some good setups.
25:14 I mean, we're gonna watch the next episode right away.
25:18 You know, even though we're keeping this discussion short,
25:20 like the really long discussion will definitely
25:22 be reserved for the finale.
25:24 - Definitely.
25:24 - But quick thoughts on that.
25:25 I think, yeah, good music.
25:27 And I think what they'll say too is like,
25:29 they're doing a really great job at completely shifting
25:33 where your focus is going every episode.
25:36 And they have a challenge on their hands
25:37 and they introduce a set of new characters every episode
25:41 and to get you to buy into it and be interested in it.
25:43 And they're doing a really good job on that
25:45 because like last week or last week,
25:48 last episode was Buggy, Buddy, Buggy.
25:51 - Buggy. - God damn it.
25:52 Buggy, it was Buggy.
25:55 And then this episode,
25:57 you're meeting this like Alice in Wonderland type of flair
26:00 to it and with a whole new set of characters
26:02 and like spoiled, sick, rich girl.
26:05 She was even interesting.
26:07 I really loved her performance.
26:08 She's really, there's something really melancholic
26:10 and sweet about her.
26:11 I really enjoyed her a lot.
26:13 And then you watch how she affects Nami
26:15 and you get these teases of where growth can be.
26:17 I think they're doing a really excellent job.
26:20 And on top of that too,
26:21 one thing we haven't really talked about
26:22 is like just the world building is great.
26:24 - Oh, fantastic.
26:25 - Yeah, there's like phenomenal world building here.
26:28 And I think a lot of times when you're introducing,
26:30 when you're trying to do an adaptation of the stuff,
26:31 that's kind of where they just get way too bogged down
26:33 and they're letting the world building
26:35 sort of naturally happen by reactions
26:38 and getting to see people and societies
26:40 and how they respond to things.
26:41 - No, it feels all feels organic.
26:43 They're telling you the information you need to know
26:45 rather than overloading you with just lore for lore's sake.
26:47 - A thousand percent.
26:48 - And yeah, I think that the way that it's playing out,
26:51 it's playing out in a way that's organic,
26:54 but also makes you intrigued to want to know more.
26:56 - Definitely.
26:57 - To want to know all these extra details.
26:58 Like we got to know that Usopp's dad was with Luffy
27:01 and then that, what's the girl's name?
27:04 I don't remember her name.
27:05 Her parents are died at sea.
27:08 - No idea.

27:12 I still say Luffy unconfidently
27:14 'cause I'm like, Luffy, Luffy?

27:22 Zoro's the easiest one to remember because of Zoro.
27:24 - Yeah, you're right.
27:25 'Cause of swords and stuff.
27:27 You said he's your favorite character.
27:28 - Zoro is my favorite character so far.
27:30 He's got such a great presence, it's cool.
27:32 And I think the on-camera chemistry
27:34 between him and Luffy are phenomenal.
27:37 Like just when you put them in the same frame,
27:39 you're like, there's such a good pairing between them.
27:42 I imagine that's what it's like within the anime, maybe.
27:45 I don't know what the dynamics are,
27:47 but with them two on screen together,
27:50 they're such opposite personalities, yet they fit.
27:53 - Yeah.
27:53 - And that's when you got like magic in a bottle
27:56 with your cast.
27:57 When you're like, oh yeah, they're so different.
27:59 They look different, they behave different.
28:01 One's full of optimism and wonder,
28:03 the other one is completely jaded.
28:05 And you know, I love it.
28:07 - Love it.
