00:00 Good afternoon, it's Chris here with your top three stories today, Thursday, September the 7th.
00:04 That's it from me, have a great day and we'll see you tomorrow.
00:29 Thank you, it's Alistair from the Sheffield Star and we're out here today asking people about the concrete issue that's been in the news lately.
00:34 It's aerated concrete that's kind of not, it's proving to be crumbly, it's proving to be susceptible to failure essentially.
00:41 We're asking people what their opinions are as far as the government's response has been. What do you make of that?
00:46 I think the government knew about it and I think they just, well they're just biding their time but it's going to cause some real problems.
00:55 If they don't do something about it, buildings are going to get collapsed, it's as simple as that.
01:02 How long do you think they've known about it?
01:04 Oh they'll have known about it when buildings were being built.
01:07 We were talking before this, you were comparing it to previous materials the same way where it was used while it was risky but they knew that and kind of pushed the buck down the way.
01:19 What were you saying some more about that?
01:22 Well it's the same old question, profits before people.
01:25 The more money you've got the more power you've got and that's basically the thing with society.
01:36 What do you think the scale of dealing with this will be by the end of it all, how much will they have to put in to make sure this issue is solved?
01:44 Well like I say it's only what I've heard on the news about this concrete.
01:50 But I can't see it, if it's crumbling I can't see how they're going to repair it.
01:56 So to me building is, well it's had it basically.
