Ford is targeting a 250-mile range for what it calls the first rally-inspired EV.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E Rally has been officially unveiled by the Michigan-based automaker with a dual-engine all-wheel drive setup, rally-inspired 19-inch white alloy wheels, upgraded suspension and a rear spoiler as standard equipment.
Dynamically debuting as a prototype at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, the all-electric crossover features a finely tuned suspension that offers 0.78 inches (20 millimeters) of extra ground clearance compared to the Mach-E GT and features a specially tuned MagneRide. .
Two electric motors, one at the front and one at the rear, deliver a targeted output of at least 480 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque, while the 0-60 mph time is 3.5 seconds.
Ford says all these specs, including a range that will be around 250 miles thanks to 91 kilowatt-hours of power, are currently estimates and could change slightly when the car officially goes on sale in the first half of next year. Battery pack capable of accepting DC fast charging up to 150 kilowatts.
To stand out from all other Mach-E equipment, the Rally EV has 19-inch glossy white wheels, 15.1-inch (385 mm) front brake rotors with red-painted Brembo calipers, and rally-inspired fog lights. front fascia, Focus RS-inspired rear spoiler, front splitter, black painted steel roof and a pair of racing stripes.
