00:00 This is Anthony Albanese's third visit to Indonesia in just over 12 months.
00:06 Those trips were dominated by talk of rising security tensions and that focus hasn't altogether
00:12 changed but Anthony Albanese wants to use this visit to deepen Australia's economic
00:17 ties with its near neighbours.
00:19 Part of that is strategic.
00:21 The government sees enormous economic opportunity as South East Asia's economies rapidly grow
00:26 in the years ahead.
00:27 South East Asia is already Australia's second largest trading partner after China.
00:32 The government also sees value in closing that gap.
00:35 Arguing more diversity in trading partners will help stability in the region too.
00:40 Anthony Albanese will release a new trade blueprint for the region at the ASEAN Summit
00:45 on Wednesday morning, ahead of sideline meetings with the leaders of Malaysia, Timor-Leste,
00:49 Canada and others.
00:51 This is the start of a five day trip taking you into the Philippines and the G20 Leaders
00:56 Summit in New Delhi too.
00:58 There had been hopes this trip could see a meeting between the Prime Minister and his
01:01 Chinese counterpart, Chinese President Xi Jinping.
01:05 With Xi skipping both summits, that won't be possible.
01:08 But a meeting with his second in charge, Premier Li Cheng, could yet take place.
