More businesses, even schools, moving to four-day workweeks

It turns out a growing number of businesses, and even some schools are throwing their support behind a four-day workweek.

00:06 workers would be interested in a four day work week. So we talked to people

00:11 in two different industries about the perks and the challenges of a shorter

00:16 work week. This may look like any other high school, but students and teachers

00:21 are part of a unique experiment. A four day work week. It is making our life

00:26 easier. Algebra teacher Cara Graham says coming in just four days with

00:30 Monday, a planning day makes her work life balance so much easier. I don't

00:35 have to spend all day Sunday sitting at my computer doing my schoolwork. Other

00:40 industries are giving it a shot to flex jobs recently posted a list of

00:44 companies with four day work weeks. That's where we found G two I which

00:50 connects companies to software developers. Ceo Gabe Greenberg says at

00:54 first, employees had off every other Friday. But last year we announced that

00:59 we're gonna move full time permanently to the four day work week. The results

01:04 so far taking more time to think about what's really gonna move the needle

01:08 forward and not just saying yes to everything. But a shorter work week is

01:11 not without its challenges. If given the option, Tony Frana with flex job

01:16 says, ask yourself these questions. How will you be able to work longer days if

01:21 that's really what's required? Will you need child care for some of those

01:25 longer days at G two I the shorter work week is helping with recruitment. Quite

01:30 a few leaders from our direct competitors. Meantime, Superintendent

01:34 Eugene Blaylock says he's seeing teachers much more enthusiastic about

01:38 their jobs. Wellness, teacher wellness and staff morale was at all time low

01:42 last year. He says other districts are calling to see if a shorter work week
