Dodgers pitcher arrested for domestic violence

00:04 did not travel with the team after getting arrested for felony domestic

00:08 abuse over the holiday weekend. Areas was picked up on sunday night outside

00:12 BMO Stadium where a celebrity packed crowd watched the L. A. Football Club

00:17 take on Lionel Messi's Miami's team. Areas is no stranger to domestic abuse.

00:22 Back in 2019 he was suspended for 20 games after being arrested for

00:27 suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery for allegedly shoving a woman

00:30 to the ground at the Beverly Center. That woman refused to file charges

00:34 though. Once it gets physical, I mean that's that's all bad, especially when

00:39 you have everything going for you and you have all this and the limelight is

00:42 on you and then this happens, it's very bad. The Dodgers organization on

00:47 monday issued this statement. We are aware of an incident involving Julio

00:51 areas while we attempt to learn all the facts, he will not be traveling with

00:55 the team. The organization has no further comment at this time. Areas was

01:00 a key member of the bullpen when the Dodgers won the World Series in 2020.

01:04 He led the National League and wins in 2021 and earned run average in 2022 but

01:11 has been struggling as of late. The question now, when will he be able to

01:15 return to the mound considering this is his second domestic violence incident
