00:08 As hundreds of people flocked through the gates for the first day of the 2023 Royal Adelaide Show,
00:14 most of the action was in the sheep shed, with five breeds getting in front of a judge.
00:19 It was a great day for the Fleurieu breeders, Brenton and Jo Lush, of Corridale Hills,
00:24 with them winning both Champion Ram and Champion Ewe in the feature Corridale Judging.
00:30 In a joint feature breed, the Pole Wharf celebrated a Grand Champion Ram from the Walker family,
00:36 Riverview Pole Wharf stud in Gretna, Tasmania, and the Porter family from Colac, Victoria,
00:43 who won the Grand Champion Ewe before the Grand Champion Ram took out the Supreme Champion Award.
00:49 Meanwhile, the Jorgensen family, Murtec stud, Antwerp, Victoria,
00:54 claimed back-to-back Supreme wins in the White Suffolk Judging.
00:59 An outstanding ewe belonging to them rose to the major accolade after they won the same title with a Ram in 2022.
01:06 Judge Anthony Ferguson, Anavilla stud, Witoola, described the ewe as being full of muscle with tremendous neck extension.
01:15 Another Victorian stud, Booroola, Baringup, won the Junior and Grand Champion Ram,
01:22 which will be offered at the Bendigo Elite Sale later in the month.
01:26 Tomorrow here in the Sheepshed, Pole Dorsets and Suffolks will be on show,
01:30 while the Lead Steers and Pigs will also attract thousands across the showgrounds.
