Transcript
00:00 In the last quarter, in the first quarter of this year, the GDP has grown nominally by 8%
00:06 and real growth is 6-7.8%. Nominally it has grown by 8%. I would like to inform all of you that the
00:14 tax revenues, the GDP, the GST revenues during this period in the first quarter, they grew by
00:21 more than 11%. So this translates into a tax to GDP ratio of more than 1.3. The taxes have grown
00:29 by more than the nominal GDP, which means that, and this is despite no increase in the tax rates.
00:38 So what is this because of? This is basically because of better compliance and an improved
00:43 tax collection efficiency, which means that our officers, our dealers, our GST and registered
00:51 entities, industries, they are all more compliant and tax evasion avoidance is low.
