00:05 Edalia barreled through South Carolina Wednesday.

00:14 the side door, just to make sure no water gets in the house.
00:17 >> People were rushing to get sandbags after seeing how much rain the storm's
00:23 outer bands were already bringing.

00:31 >> By late afternoon, the winds picked up too,
00:34 prompting the Charleston airport to shut down,
00:37 businesses to close early and vacationers to stay put.
00:41 >> All the stores were closed.
00:43 And it was like a torrential downpour and we got stuck in the rain,
00:46 the high winds, we got soaked.
00:50 >> Once it got dark, roads near the city's waterfront started flooding.
00:54 Several inches of water crept up near homes downtown.
00:57 >> This is what high tide looked like on Wednesday.
01:00 You can see these really big waves here in the Atlantic Ocean.
01:03 Because of the wind, this water is being pushed onto the street.
01:08 And with the additional rain from Edalia, it created a very big flooding situation.

01:15 most of the water had receded.
01:18 Crews spent the morning cleaning up as people ventured back outside.
01:22 >> We've noticed some damage around the battery and debris.
01:26 But other than that, it's been really great to walk around outside today.
