Bill Belichick's Offensive Identity: A Closer Look at New England

00:00 In regards to New England and Bill Belichick, I don't think they have an offensive identity.
00:07 So I bashed him.
00:08 I said, I thought the game passed Bill Belichick by like George Foreman at the end of his career.
00:14 He could see the punches coming, just can't get out of the way.
00:17 The old man's gone.
00:19 That's exactly the way I feel about New England this year.
00:23 I think he still can roll with the punches a little bit.
00:26 I think he knows what he's doing here.
00:29 What is he doing?
00:32 He's a master of, now I'm not saying that he has a quarterback that's going to be good.
00:35 What I'm saying is his manipulation of the roster.
00:39 Of the roster, yes.
00:40 Of that, he knows.
00:41 And the way that he's, he's like, nobody's going to claim Bailey Zappi and Cunningham.
00:46 I'm going to put him on my practice squad and instead of burning two quarterbacks on
00:51 my 53, I can outstash these two guys, use all of their practice squad call-ups before
00:58 I then have to make a decision of either signing them or bringing somebody else to be a backup.
01:02 So I think the one thing it tells you is he's not as high on Bailey Zappi as everybody wanted
01:07 him to be when he came in and played for Mac Jones last year.
01:10 But here he is rolling with the punches yesterday with the reporters who of course wanted to
01:15 get just a little bit of a nugget out of Bill.
01:19 And Bill's never giving you a nugget, ever, when it comes to his football team.
01:24 What the roster is today, what it is tomorrow, what it is the next day, like there's going
01:27 to be changes on our roster and every other roster in the league.
01:31 Every single team will have roster transactions over the next multiple days.
01:35 Including some up until the day before the opening.
01:39 So it's a process.
01:41 We'll work through it.
01:44 Some guys will come back, some guys won't.
01:47 You know, we acquired players from another team, two players from another team.
01:54 There's multiple things going on.
01:56 Imagine him at the dinner table.
02:00 So I'm not going to comment about where we are or aren't today because the process is
02:05 far from being over.
02:07 Right in the middle of it.
02:08 Yeah, he's right in the middle of it, Joe.
02:11 The process is far from being over.
02:13 Right there.
02:14 There's Bill Belichick.
02:15 The process is over.
02:16 He's old.
02:17 Hey, I'm not going to mind seeing them in last place in the AFC East this year.
02:25 Joe, I'm not going to mind any of that.
02:27 Sure, why not?
02:28 Let's finish in last place in the AFC East.
02:30 I wouldn't mind if they beat the Jets twice again.
02:33 Yeah, sure, why not?
02:35 That would be fine with me as well.
