00:00 Well, a state in, uh, in the United States here.
00:06 I mean, my gosh, we talked about this last year and I just thought it was a foregone
00:10 conclusion that North Carolina was going to have sports betting in time.
00:14 I think we talked about March madness, maybe being a possibility.
00:17 I was back in March and here we are in September a couple of days away.
00:22 And, and I mean, is North Carolina going to even have sports betting launched Pat
00:27 this year?
00:29 You know, it, it will not be this year.
00:31 Uh, we've got two states that, you know, as we, as we just talked about, Kentucky
00:37 went crazy, got it done launched within, you know, what is it?
00:41 Four months.
00:42 I can't do my calendar math well, but you know, early April to September 7th, that's,
00:47 that's a really quick turnaround.
00:48 Meanwhile, Maine, uh, passed their bill last spring.
00:52 They're maybe going to launch, uh, by November, December, maybe, uh, that's a
00:58 really slow process up there.
00:59 They, they're milk champion.
01:01 Their regulator is really trying to get things in line and, and get everything in
01:05 order before he launches without any trouble in North Carolina.
01:08 Yeah.
01:09 It's not going to be before January 8th, uh, been by their law.
01:14 So, you know, they're going to miss the bulk of the NF, I mean, the full regular
01:18 season, and then, you know, potentially the playoffs, if they don't get it off
01:22 the ground right away, we don't know.
01:25 They've been very quiet.
01:26 They're not sharing a whole lot.
01:28 Um, you know, we've, I've seen reporting out of there that they're concentrating
01:33 on getting high lottery stuff launched.
01:35 And if that's the concern of the regulators, you know, that probably will
01:40 make them quite a bit more money in the long run than, than sports betting.
01:44 Uh, but we'll see, they do have a couple of retail sports books at tribal casinos
01:49 in the Western part of the state.
01:51 Yeah.
