00:28 Well, Vicky, Emil, instead of "back to school"
00:32 "Baha to school" is what's happening here in Calumpit, Bulacan.
00:38 It's a high tide.
00:40 Many of their classrooms are submerged in the flood.
00:43 The people who are already in the sandbag are the ones who are serving the school here in Calumpit, Bulacan.
00:55 A large part of the school is submerged in the flood because of the high tide.
00:59 Up to 30 classrooms are not being used.
01:04 That's why more than 1,000 students are struggling with the remaining 16 classrooms.
01:11 Although we are shifting, we are allocating the rooms.
01:16 There's a group for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and so forth.
01:22 It's only the first day of class, and the students are already affected by the flood.
01:29 We are not able to concentrate properly because of the flood.
01:34 We are being bitten by mosquitoes.
01:35 Instead of all of us high school students being able to go to school, now it's an alternate.
01:42 In Santa Lucia, students were able to go to school.
01:45 Here in Pascual Cruz Memorial Elementary School in Calumpit,
01:49 the entrance is already submerged in the flood.
01:52 Only the teachers are forced to go inside
01:56 to prepare the modules that will be distributed to the students.
02:00 Even though face-to-face classes were not possible,
02:03 the first day of school was still going on with more than 200 students attending.
02:08 When the high tide comes, they have an alternative delivery mode.
02:13 They have a schedule for what they will do when the high tide comes.
02:19 They will decide if they will do modular or online.
02:22 We are ready.
02:24 If true, according to their principal, they are already used to the high tide.
02:29 But they hope that they will be able to continue their studies
02:33 so that they can still attend classes even if the high tide comes.
02:37 However, they will need a lot of care for this.
02:42 We are dreaming for the students, but we are doing it step by step.
02:50 According to DepEd Bulacan, a request has been filed regarding this.
02:55 I know that our schools are budgeting for two-story buildings
03:04 so that the students can go there in case the flood rises.
03:11 As you can see, the flood is still in the back of my house.
03:21 According to the residents, the flood is still in the back of my house.
