00:03 All right, in Major League Baseball,
00:04 we're coming down to the stretch here, folks.
00:05 September is right around the corner, and
00:08 the Chicago White Sox are wasting no time in taking a look at their organization.
00:13 Very disappointing season on pace to lose close to 100 games.
00:16 They fired longtime Vice President Kenny Williams,
00:19 no longer part of the organization.
00:21 Same thing with General Manager Rick Hahn.
00:23 There are some reports from the USA Today that says former player Chris Getz could
00:27 end up being their general manager.
00:28 Also the USA Today reporting that guess who, Tony La Russa could be back
00:33 with the organization in some sort of consulting role as well.
00:35 So we'll get to this with Ryan Fagan of the sporting news coming up in just
00:39 a little bit.
00:39 Also the Red Sox have placed Jaron Duran on the injury list with a toe injury.
00:43 Red Sox fell short against the Houston Astros and
00:46 Justin Verlander on, of course, Tuesday night.
00:49 How about the Seattle Mariners?
00:50 They're the hottest team in baseball right now.
00:51 They've won eight straight games.
00:53 They're getting closer in the AL West.
00:54 It's the Rangers.
00:55 It's the Mariners.
00:56 It's the Astros.
00:57 This is gonna be determined all in the final month of the season because
01:00 Seattle has finally caught fire.
01:02 Julio Rodriguez has been under the weather.
01:04 We'll see how he ends up doing over the next few days.
01:05 And also, how about this, the New York Yankees, folks, the New York Yankees,
01:09 a team that it is not acceptable unless you are winning the World Series.
01:13 Not only are they not gonna win the World Series this year,
01:15 not only are they not gonna win the American League Championship,
01:18 they ain't even gonna make the playoffs.
01:19 I mean, this is crazy.
01:20 They have lost their ninth straight game, their longest streak since 1982.
01:25 And for those of you not around during that time, there was a period of time
01:28 after the Yankees won those World Championships in the 70s, and
01:31 they were pretty good in the early 80s, that they went through this really
01:34 difficult time before they started winning all those championships.
01:38 And in 1982, that's a really long time to have this kind of losing streak.
01:43 We'll see if they can get it going.
01:44 By the way, it's not like the Yankees are playing the best team in the league.
01:46 Although Washington has played a lot better,
01:48 they've been losing to the Washington Nationals.
