00:00 Some of music's biggest names seem to be ending their relationships with manager Scooter Braun.
00:04 "Thank you.
00:05 That's nice."
00:06 "Scooter Braun has been like the most amazing thing that's happened to A, my career and
00:12 my life."
00:13 Ariana Grande no longer having music's estimated $500 million man call all the shots.
00:18 This morning, news broke that Idina Menzel let him go in January, and that's not all.
00:23 "Baby, I'm starving."
00:25 ET has learned Demi Lovato severed business ties with Scooter last month and is seeking
00:30 new management.
00:31 A source tells ET, "This was a mutual and amicable decision to part ways and the two
00:36 remain close."
00:37 In fact, Scooter wished Demi a happy 31st birthday on Instagram this weekend.
00:41 "She didn't need a manager.
00:43 She needed a friend.
00:44 She needed someone who knew what to do but also didn't need her to work."
00:47 This morning, Scooter tweeted, "Breaking news.
00:49 I'm no longer managing myself."
00:51 But what about Bieber?
00:53 There were whispers he was looking to leave his longtime manager, but multiple sources
00:56 tell ET it's not true, adding, "The two recently worked on something together."
01:01 "What do you mean?"
01:03 "The definition of the toxic male privilege in our industry is people saying, 'But he's
01:08 always been nice to me.'"
01:10 Of course, Scooter famously had a fallout with Taylor Swift after he purchased the rights
01:14 to her music.
01:15 And while the newest headlines make it seem like there's a scandal, Variety's executive
01:19 music editor, Jem Aswad, says the explanation is all business.
01:24 "Nobody's speaking on the record, but on the Scooter side of things, people insist that,
01:29 you know, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande are not leaving the company, that Scooter
01:34 Braun is stepping back from his role as a day-to-day manager, which is a very demanding
01:39 job because he's the CEO of HYBE America.
01:42 That is the South Korean powerhouse entertainment company behind BTS."
01:47 Back to Demi, she's already booked her next gig.
01:50 She's performing at the VMAs September 12th for the first time in six years alongside
01:54 K.R.O.L.G., Monoskin, and the K-pop sensation Stray Kids.
