00:20 Combat element.
00:21 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:31 Not just horizontally, but vertically.
00:41 [BLANK_AUDIO]
00:51 >> The culture of the active stands as a symbol of our combined strength,
01:01 securing peace and stability with unwavering resolve.
01:05 [BLANK_AUDIO]
01:15 >> Like the Philippines, Australia wants a peaceful, stable,
01:29 and prosperous region, which respects sovereignty,
01:35 and which is guided by rules-based order.
01:40 And this is why exercises like this is critical,
01:46 because it's through this we are putting our words into action.
01:52 Through this, we are increasing our interoperability.
01:56 And through this, we are learning from each other
02:00 to further strengthen our defense capabilities.
02:04 >> Of a changing and evolving relationship between ourselves
02:08 and the Philippine Armed Forces.
02:10 After Maui, we've increased the number of training activities we did together,
02:16 the number of events both in Australia and here in the Philippines.
02:20 And we've reached, I guess, another evolution of that training
02:26 in terms of its complexity.
02:29 The most important aspect of it is actually the relationships,
02:33 the ability to work together on some sort of challenging problem,
02:37 find a solution, and then act on it.
02:40 And this just builds levels of trust and cooperation
02:45 that no other theater or environment can achieve.
02:48 >> For us, it's most of the trade.
02:51 There are a lot of trade passing through the Indo-Pacific regions,
02:55 particularly in the South China Sea.
02:57 So our efforts is really to keep it free of navigation
03:03 and also at the same time to establish a rules-based international order.
03:07 >> It's essential to underpin our security and stability,
03:14 which then leads to prosperity
03:16 and where people are able to grow and prosper and have great prospects,
03:22 then we tend to find that our region is secure and stable.
03:25 We're undertaking amphibious operations with the entire joint force,
03:29 so air, sea, and land capabilities, space capabilities as well,
03:35 which help us understand where we are.
03:37 And then what we're trying to do is to integrate the capabilities
03:42 in each of those domains in a way that enables us to operate
03:46 in the most efficient and effective way possible.
