00:00 bring our attention back to tropical storm Hillary that has made a big impact
00:05 down in the Palm Springs area, shutting down the east west artery between Palm
00:10 Springs and Blythe. Let's bring in scripts. Meteorologist scott with her
00:13 standing by live on Interstate 10 in the area with what has happened down
00:17 there, scott. Yeah.
00:19 Yeah. Mike, take a look behind me here. This is the Interstate 10. It is
00:25 heading westbound. It has not moved in at least three hours, likely longer.
00:29 There's actually an ambulance stuck back in there with a patient inside.
00:32 They say that patient's okay, but it is not moving at all. Show you why this is
00:37 all because of Hillary coming through. Look, this is the eastbound lanes. If I
00:41 didn't tell you that you think that was a river, it is rushing down here. We've
00:45 got some semis trapped in it as well underneath that water, thick layer of
00:49 mud and all the way down. You can see it kind of goes off, but then the water
00:53 and mud come back on. This is a mess out here and it's all because Palm
00:57 Springs got almost a year's worth of rain in just one day. Now this is the
01:01 interstate. The good news is the downtown areas, those river, those
01:05 streets did get some water came up a little bit, but they've receded. So no
01:09 major flooding in downtown Palm Springs, but even just getting around
01:12 most of southern California is going to be difficult here, Mike and do not. If
01:17 you are heading this way, don't take the I 10 find a different way, Mike.
01:21 All right, there you go. Scott withers reporting from Palm Springs. It is a
01:25 mess in many areas as as advertised. Everyone Coachella Valley was positioned
01:30 to see the bulk of the system and it did.
