00:00 It's been five years since we started this project and we have planted close to 1000 trees.
00:07 Basically we have a grand tradition of sacred groves which we call devarai.
00:15 It means a forest which is preserved by the community, which is dedicated to the God.
00:27 The cottages mimic the old styled huts which are called matsris.
00:32 Set up in a very dense plantation of coconut, betel nut, banana and spices.
00:37 We are keeping a small part of the whole plantation as devarai or sacred groves.
00:43 Then comes the grasslands, then come wetlands and also the mangroves.
00:53 Different ecosystems coming together and offering a treat.
00:57 Food is cooked on a wood fire, served in earthen pots on leaf plates.
01:02 And my mother herself takes care of the kitchen.
01:07 Basically we aim at creating compassion within the community for the preservation of flora and fauna.
01:17 Along with sustenance of inheritance.
01:22 It's not just being sustainable, staying within the limits of nature's supplies.
