MNS chief Raj Thackeray who was until sometime considered to be a potential ally of the BJP. Has hit out at the BJP. Let's discuss the full story and let's also discuss the possible reason behind this change in tone of the MNS chief.

“Our Amit (Thackeray’s son) was going somewhere and toll naka was broken. The BJP said first learn to build roads and then toll booths. I think the BJP should learn to build its party without breaking MLAs from other parties,” Thackeray said. Thackeray was referring to an incident last month when a toll naka was vandalized last month allegedly by some MNS workers after party leader Amit Thackeray was stopped there. Thackeray further also said: "They (BJP) level a gun at people’s heads and later induct them into the party.” Thackeray also took a swipe at DCM Ajit Pawar, he said: “All of them [Ajit Pawar-led NCP faction] rushed to the BJP once PM Modi spoke about their role in scams of ₹70,000 crore. So, Ajit Pawar should not fool the people of Maharashtra by claiming he joined the BJP for development.” The MNS chief did not stop there, he further attacked the government over the condition of roads. Thackeray said. More than 1,500 people had died between 2012 and 2022 on the Mumbai-Goa highway while 350 had already been killed in accidents along the Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi expressway. “The government will not put fencing along the Expressway, but it can immediately begin toll collection. Today, if one has to go to Ratnagiri in the Konkan, then one needs to take a U-turn – from Mumbai to Pune – and thence to Ratnagiri. The government is taking the electorate for granted. It knows that whatever happens, the electorate will keep voting for them,” Mr. Thackeray said. Now this is not the first time the MNS chief has raised his voice over the toll issue. Earlier in 2014 Thackeray had called a State-wide agitation against toll collection. Now why I said MNS could have been a potential ally of the BJP? Since the Shinde-Fadnavis government came to power, there have been multiple meetings between the MNS chief and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis. Besides, Raj Thackeray was the first one to laud former CM Devendra Fadnavis after he accepted the post of DCM. Besides, During the Andheri East ByPoll, the BJP withdrew its candidate against Shiv Sena UBT candidate Rutuja Latke after Raj Thackeray's letter urging BJP to not field a candidate against Latke who was fighting on her late husband's seat. And obviously, Hindutva is another connecting factor. With all these factors at hand, the BJP and MNS were expected to be allies and now suddenly the MNS chief has hit out at the BJP which has increased the distance between the two parties.

00:00 MNS Chief Raj Thackeray, who was until some time considered to be a potential ally of
00:06 the Bharatiya Janata Party, has hit out at the BJP.
00:12 Let's discuss the full story and let's also discuss the possible reason behind this change
00:18 in tone of the MNS Chief.
00:21 But before that, if you are watching this on Facebook, do like our page and if you are
00:25 watching this on YouTube, do subscribe to SW News English.
00:31 Our Amit, that is Thackeray's son, was going somewhere and Tolnaka was broken.
00:37 The BJP said, "First learn to build roads and then tollbooths."
00:43 I think the BJP should learn to build its party without breaking MLAs from others'
00:51 parties, Thackeray said.
00:53 Thackeray was referring to an incident last month when a Tolnaka was vandalized last month,
00:59 allegedly by some MNS workers, after party leader Amit Thackeray was stopped there.
01:06 Thackeray further also said, "They level a gun at people's head and later induct them
01:14 into the party."
01:15 Thackeray also took a swipe at Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
01:19 He said all of them, that is the Ajit Pawar led NCP faction, rushed to the BJP once PM
01:26 Modi spoke about their role in scams of Rs 70,000 crore.
01:33 So Ajit Pawar should not fool the people of Maharashtra by claiming that he joined the
01:40 BJP for development.
01:43 The MNS Chief did not stop there.
01:45 He further attacked the government over the condition of roads.
01:49 Thackeray said, "More than 1,500 people had died between 2012 and 2022 on the Mumbai-Goa
01:57 highway, while 350 people had already been killed in accidents along the Mumbai-Nagpur-Samruddi
02:05 expressway.
02:06 The government will not put fencing along the expressway, but it can immediately begin
02:13 toll collection.
02:14 Today, if one has to go to Ratnagiri in Konkan, then one needs to take a U-turn from Mumbai
02:22 to Pune and thence to Ratnagiri.
02:26 The government is taking the electorate for granted.
02:29 It knows that whatever happens, the electorate will keep voting for them," Mr Thackeray
02:35 said.
02:36 Now, this is not the first time that the MNS Chief has raised his voice over the toll issue.
02:41 Earlier in 2014, Thackeray had called a statewide agitation against toll collection.
02:48 Now, why I said MNS could have been a potential ally of the BJP.
02:53 Since the Shinde Fadnavis government came to power, there have been multiple meetings
02:58 between MNS Chief and the CM and Deputy CM of the state.
03:03 Besides, Raj Thackeray was the first one to laud former CM Devendra Fadnavis after he
03:11 accepted the post of Deputy CM.
03:14 Besides, during the Andheri East by-poll, the BJP withdrew its candidate against Shiv
03:20 Sena UBT candidate Rituja Latke after Raj Thackeray's letter urging BJP to not field
03:27 a candidate against Latke who was fighting on her late husband's seat.
03:32 And obviously, Hindutva is another connecting factor.
03:37 With all these factors at hand, the BJP and MNS were expected to be allies.
03:43 And now, suddenly, the MNS Chief has hit out at the BJP, which has increased the distance
03:48 between the two parties.
03:51 We also spoke to HW News Network Managing Editor Mr. Sujit Nair on this.
03:55 Let's listen in to what he has
04:17 to say.
04:32 So, the fact is, after 2019, after that ED call for him and where he was called to the
04:48 ED office and all that, BJP has always approached him.
04:53 He was getting closer to BJP.
04:55 Now fresh elections, new elections, 2024 elections, and it is very clear for Raj Thackeray and
05:02 for his own political acumen, he knows that it will be more beneficial for him to remain
05:12 unaligned and especially not so aligned with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
05:16 He remaining unaligned will give him more value.
05:20 There will be more parties coming after him as the election closes.
05:24 And his bargaining power will grow more.
05:28 Till recently he was seen as aligning with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
05:32 He was seen as aligning with the Bharatiya Janata Party and the new Shiv Sena that is
05:36 aligned with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
05:38 Now he wants to be again non-aligned so that he gets better bargaining power.
05:43 This is very simple logic.
05:45 And I think what his statements yesterday were basically, you know, kind of hinting
05:52 towards that.
05:53 That's the point.
05:54 That's it for this report.
