A huge fire broke at the fishing harbour in Visakhapatnam late last night, which resulted in at least 25 fishing boats turning into ashes. The Indian Navy had to be brought in to bring the fire under control. As per estimates, each boat cost around 15 lakh rupee, which puts the estimated loss in ₹ 4-5 crores range. According to the police commissioner of Visakhapatnam, when fire started on a boat, it was cut off and sent adrift to ensure the fire did not spread to the others. But the winds and water flow brought it back to the jetty, which caused fire in other boats too.
