00:00 Citizens of the reject nation, it is time to go to war.
00:04 World War Two, Justice Society, Justice League, World War Two, which is it?
00:08 I don't know, but I'm excited.
00:09 I'm excited, too. I have not coy.
00:11 I feel like every so often there's an entire surge of new people that are like,
00:14 why are they rewatching these?
00:15 And I got to say, hey, not it's a first time.
00:17 Watch. I've never seen.
00:19 We're approaching like 30 of these.
00:21 I know it's trippy, man.
00:22 Pretty exciting. We're powering through a journey together.
00:25 We have almost like we've been to war.
00:27 War two of the DC universe, at least a couple of times.
00:30 We've seen a lot of continuity, a lot of Hawkman not talking today.
00:32 That might change.
00:33 Maybe he'll speak a little bit more than Black Bolt.
00:35 We'll find out.
00:36 Leave in the comments below what you want us to watch next.
00:38 We have begun our Tomorrowverse journey.
00:40 Also, always remember to hit that notification bell to find out when we got
00:43 more of these and like subscribe, share this to your friends
00:47 so we can keep making more of these because that's how it works.
00:50 And we also want to thank Prepper for editing the reaction,
00:54 because without them, it's a lot of us staring at a screen.
00:57 And that's not nearly as fun, or is it?
01:00 Thank you, Prepper, for making us look good.
01:01 Without further ado, I want to remind you to also become a patron, too.
01:05 Then you can watch this entire experience front to back, beginning to end
01:09 with our resting faces.
01:12 We're very, very pensive, but engaged.
01:14 That's how we rest and watch.
01:15 That's obviously everybody knows.
01:17 I think that's going to do it because we've we've been to a con.
01:21 We've had a Batverse shirt, and now we go to war.
01:25 Three, two.
01:27 Oh, cool.
01:35 Mr. President, we have to act now.
01:37 It's kind of like driving through the city.
01:42 They've taken control of most of Europe and Russia.
01:46 It's an invasion.
01:47 He's been searching for ancient artifacts.
01:49 Of course, you mean magical artifacts.
01:53 What a maniac.
01:54 Unless, of course, he's right.
01:56 Yeah, I mean, both can be true.
01:59 Yes.
02:00 Let me introduce you to the team.
02:02 Rex Tyler, known as our man.
02:04 Oh, now he's developed a chemical called Miraclo
02:08 to enhance speed, strength, everything an hour at a time.
02:12 Damn Dinah Lance, a bit of a firebrand with sonic sound abilities
02:17 that have gotten her shot by her community.
02:19 Just fully World War Two black hair.
02:21 Since attaining his powers of speed,
02:24 Jay Garrick has been a full time crime fighter.
02:26 Carter Hall, an ancient Egyptian in a modern Egyptian's body
02:30 claims this is his fourth reincarnation.
02:35 Who will lead this motley crew?
02:39 I think I've got someone in mind.
02:40 Yes, go, Steve Trevor.
02:45 What do you say, Mr. President?
02:47 Are you ready to end this war?
02:49 Hey,
02:49 nice. Yes, I love it.
02:54 Love the old school vibes.
02:56 I like when they commit to a choice.
02:58 Oh, Matt Bomer. Oh, yeah.
02:59 Like commitment is so key when you're making something like this.
03:02 It is society that makes more sense for World War Two.
03:04 But I wasn't certain I don't want to be wrong.
03:06 So I went with both. It makes sense.
03:07 It's society.
03:08 Call you a job to do.
03:10 No societies versus league.
03:12 Everything. That's just a simple job.
03:14 Somebody's got to do it.
03:15 Makes more sense canonically.
03:17 But then again, Wonder Woman being part of the just it's fine.
03:19 It's fine.
03:20 According to the trajectory of the sun, we should have the maximum amount
03:24 of light if we set the blanket
03:27 here, get a little shade.
03:29 That'd be a hot day in Metropolis.
03:30 Oh, I should have brought sunscreen.
03:34 Can I get your back?
03:35 Very red mayo.
03:37 I forgot the cheese.
03:38 Oh, Barry, do you think it might rain?
03:41 I can grab an umbrella just in case.
03:42 Barry, just you wanted to get out of town away from my other job.
03:48 What do you want from me?
03:49 Is this just a fling?
03:50 Because no, no, Iris, it's OK if it is.
03:53 But I'm not interested.
03:55 Oh, I love you.
03:57 The best way to keep you safe is by making sure no one finds out.
04:00 If you really believe that, then break up with me.
04:02 Oh, I'll make it up to you tomorrow.
04:05 100 sandwiches.
04:08 Resistance is illogical.
04:11 It's not futile, but it is illogical.
04:14 Not if you're Superman.
04:19 Oh, tickle him.
04:26 Is he immune to tickle?
04:31 Cool shot.
04:33 Nice. Oh, geez.
04:36 This is well animated.
04:37 I'm enjoying the POV stuff.
04:39 Help with the tentacles.
04:41 Right. Sure.
04:42 Ouch.
04:44 No.
04:47 Yes.
04:50 Whoa.
04:54 Accelerating projectile.
05:01 Aw, damn it.
05:02 Oh.
05:03 Whoa.
05:09 Yeah.
05:09 It's got to be so annoying to fight this guy.
05:15 Yeah, just hearing your odds.
05:17 Never tell me the odds.
05:20 Oh, grab it, Mary. Grab it.
05:24 Oh, into the speed force.
05:28 Whoa.
05:31 Cool.
05:32 Oh, no.
05:33 Keep running.
05:36 Follow my voice.
05:39 That Dr. Fate?
05:40 Yeah.
05:41 How and why? I don't yet know.
05:43 Cool.
05:43 Does he end up back in World War II?
05:47 Just would not want to fight her.
05:51 Nope.
05:52 Oh, yeah.
05:54 Damn, they made her especially fast.
05:58 Yeah, it's awesome.
06:00 Oh, ha ha ha ha.
06:03 Ricochet.
06:05 Cool.
06:09 Bouncing dudes off.
06:11 The fights in this is awesome.
06:13 Yeah, consistently.
06:15 Oh.
06:15 Jeez, this must have come out after Wonder Woman.
06:21 Yeah. Yeah, the movie.
06:23 There's a lot of mirroring.
06:24 Keep expecting to hear the whole, "Duh, duh, duh." Yeah, right?
06:27 Like, "Junkie XL, where are you?"
06:29 Right on time.
06:33 What kind of crazy gun was that?
06:40 Did President Roosevelt send you?
06:42 What's happening?
06:43 Keep an eye on whatever this is.
06:47 Am I dead?
06:49 This is the afterlife.
06:54 Nazis?
06:55 Ha ha ha ha.
06:57 Yep.
07:00 Now's your chance, Barry.
07:01 Bonk.
07:02 Bonk.
07:03 Whoa.
07:07 Dang.
07:08 Ha ha ha.
07:10 Nice.
07:11 Ha ha ha ha.
07:18 Awesome.
07:19 Ha ha.
07:21 Dang.
07:22 That was amazing.
07:23 Speed slapping Nazi.
07:25 I'm from the future.
07:26 It's not impossible.
07:28 I mean, with the speed force.
07:30 What?
07:31 Oh.
07:36 Who we got?
07:37 Is it Tom Hardy up there?
07:39 Don't show his face.
07:39 Yeah.
07:41 It's Steve.
07:42 Steve.
07:43 Yeah.
07:44 Aw, you.
07:47 Don't you hurt Steve.
07:48 Whoa.
07:49 Oh, no.
07:50 What did we just say?
07:53 Based on the trajectory, the velocity,
07:55 Hawkman's wingspan, he won't make it.
07:57 Oh, damn.
07:58 Jeez.
08:04 Good POVs in this movie, too.
08:05 Yeah, the lockout shots and POVs are amazing.
08:08 Now back into the speed force.
08:12 You got this.
08:13 I wonder if the oxygen's different.
08:15 I wonder why he's having trouble breathing.
08:16 Wow.
08:22 Oh.
08:23 There you go.
08:24 Woo.
08:30 Teamwork, boy.
08:32 I see you picked up another playmate.
08:33 It seems I misjudged you.
08:36 Thank you.
08:36 Seems I also look past your very similar costume
08:39 to our own Flash.
08:40 This gentleman with the similar symbol on his chest.
08:44 Auermann, you and Jay with me on the ground.
08:45 Carter, you and Dinah take the sky.
08:47 And I can do nothing.
08:49 If you really are from the future,
08:50 we can't complicate the timeline.
08:52 Oh, right.
08:53 I've seen that movie.
08:54 I've been in that movie.
08:57 Oh, yeah.
08:58 Love the teamwork, little teamwork beats.
09:07 Yeah.
09:15 Nice.
09:15 Awesome.
09:16 That was great.
09:18 Woo.
09:19 Oh, no.
09:24 Not the Bond shot.
09:25 Not the Bond intro.
09:28 Yes.
09:28 Scheisse.
09:33 I said scheisse for a second.
09:36 Shit.
09:38 That's the battle cry.
09:40 Shit.
09:40 Future boy, this is Shakespeare, our war correspondent.
09:45 Do I know you?
09:46 This is Howard Stark.
09:48 Also, Billy Shakespeare.
09:49 Yeah, Billy Shakespeare.
09:50 The real Superman.
09:51 I can't hold this in anymore.
09:54 Will you marry me?
09:56 Good attempt, Trevor.
09:58 Oh.
09:59 Oh.
10:00 Ouch.
10:01 He proposes every day.
10:03 And every day, she says no.
10:05 Didn't take you for a stalker.
10:06 You've got a new mission.
10:10 We can't decode the intel.
10:12 The Germans are looking for a new artifact.
10:14 They're saying it's a game changer.
10:15 Oh, no.
10:16 A man with mystical abilities.
10:18 They pulled him out of their camps and stuck him in a securely guarded castle in Bavaria.
10:22 They say he can break any code.
10:24 Problem is, he's insane.
10:26 What are we going to do about him?
10:28 He should stick with us for research.
10:31 Aw.
10:32 I'm really curious how, if this is part of that Tomorrowverse, how this all ties in.
10:37 With Flash not knowing the Justice League.
10:39 Obviously, Batman was separate and Superman was separate.
10:41 Maybe it will culminate in a big old league, finally.
10:44 Was that the voice of the same Superman?
10:46 That's a good question.
10:47 I feel like, but I'm not 100%.
10:49 Okay.
10:50 Wow.
10:54 Castle Wolfenstein.
10:56 Let's move out.
10:57 Oh, yeah.
11:00 Yeah.
11:01 Ha ha ha.
11:02 The slide.
11:03 I had every time.
11:05 Oh.
11:07 Yeah.
11:11 Ha ha ha.
11:12 Nice, dude.
11:13 Nice.
11:14 Ha ha ha.
11:15 Ha ha ha.
11:18 Sharing the speed force and all that is interesting with time travel.
11:23 Oh.
11:26 Dang.
11:27 Throw that plate at him.
11:31 Or the whole table.
11:32 Or, yeah.
11:33 Who sent you?
11:42 Oh.
11:43 Oh.
11:44 Hunt!
11:45 Oh, no.
11:48 Shakespeare.
11:49 Oh.
11:52 Oh.
11:53 Dang.
11:54 That's why he looked familiar to Flash.
11:56 Yeah.
11:57 And that the curl is these straight lines.
11:59 I didn't recognize him in the mustache.
12:01 Clever.
12:02 It's the same actor, Coy.
12:03 Oh, clearly the voice actor that I've been not hearing this whole time.
12:06 Ha ha ha.
12:07 Yes, yes.
12:08 They should know.
12:09 They should know.
12:10 This cannot be spoke to.
12:12 Hey, what'd they do to you?
12:14 No.
12:15 It's.
12:16 It can't be.
12:17 It can.
12:18 It can.
12:19 Oof.
12:20 I know him from a previous life.
12:23 Well, make him snap out of it.
12:25 We're not equipped to handle.
12:26 Dead.
12:27 They're all going to be dead.
12:29 Oh.
12:30 We need your help, my friend.
12:32 Can you translate this?
12:34 Oh.
12:38 Oh.
12:39 Oh.
12:40 Wow.
12:44 Ah.
12:48 It's Clark.
12:49 Ah.
12:50 It's Clark Kent.
12:52 Interesting.
12:53 You're Superman.
12:54 It's me, Flash.
12:56 How did you get here?
12:57 Did you follow me through that time warp?
12:58 Is this a rescue?
12:59 Why do you have a mustache?
13:00 Ha ha.
13:01 Ha ha.
13:02 You're one of the most selfless people I know.
13:04 I don't know you.
13:05 In my time on this planet, I learned you look out for yourself.
13:09 And journalism.
13:10 In my time, something's different.
13:12 What about your parents?
13:13 Martha and Jonathan Kent died in an accident when I was three years old.
13:18 Ah.
13:19 I was sent to an orphanage.
13:20 Oh, dang.
13:22 What do they teach you there?
13:23 I'm not in the past.
13:25 This isn't a different time.
13:27 Whoa.
13:28 This is a different Earth.
13:29 Oh, no.
13:30 Crises on more Earths.
13:32 There's so many crises on so many Earths.
13:35 That makes more sense for continuity.
13:37 Yeah.
13:38 By not making sense for continuity.
13:39 Ha ha.
13:40 Yep.
13:41 Oh.
13:43 Coordinates.
13:45 No.
13:46 He's not ready yet.
13:47 Yes, he's received the package, but he doesn't know what it means.
13:52 Huh?
13:53 What are you arguing about Superman for?
13:54 Please, do you know a way for me to get back home?
13:57 Back to my universe?
13:58 But this would be Earth One.
14:00 The real Earth.
14:01 Ha ha ha.
14:03 You may return, but you have another task ahead of you.
14:07 And a lesson you must learn.
14:10 Only then can you-- no, I won't tell him about the League.
14:13 Ha ha.
14:15 You should go.
14:16 It's starting.
14:17 [MUSIC PLAYING]
14:20 Regenerate.
14:21 Two, maybe three ships above us.
14:24 Do they know we're here?
14:25 We're about to find out.
14:26 Is this the Justice Society's official submarine crew?
14:29 Ooh.
14:32 About to sink some battleships.
14:35 Ho ho ho ho ho ho.
14:38 Uh oh.
14:39 [MUSIC PLAYING]
14:44 Leech toward aft.
14:45 Engine room is flooding.
14:46 Ugh.
14:47 [GLASS SHATTERING]
14:51 Nice, man.
14:52 Jannor of the Justice Society.
14:54 Ha ha ha.
14:55 We have to surface.
14:56 Is there any way to restart the engines?
14:58 You have an extra 20 batteries lying around?
15:01 I got a couple flashes.
15:02 Oh.
15:03 Ha ha.
15:04 There she is.
15:05 What now?
15:06 No subs took batteries.
15:07 Yeah.
15:08 [MUSIC PLAYING]
15:10 Ooh, yeah.
15:12 [GLASS SHATTERING]
15:15 Sweet.
15:16 I'll be.
15:18 Ha ha.
15:19 I'm learning so many new things I can do with my power.
15:21 I have a brand new flash.
15:22 Lock this behind me and flood the tube.
15:25 Torpedo woman.
15:26 You are just so beautiful when you're
15:29 about to kick some Nazi tail.
15:31 You know, there is a captain on board.
15:33 Let me make an honest Amazon out of you.
15:35 Come on.
15:37 Come on.
15:38 That was a good one.
15:40 Both of you climb in the tube.
15:41 He's good at proposing.
15:42 [MUSIC PLAYING]
15:45 Ha ha ha.
15:46 Let's go.
15:47 [MUSIC PLAYING]
15:50 Oh, man.
15:51 [MUSIC PLAYING]
15:54 Cool.
15:55 Nice.
15:56 [EXPLOSION]
15:57 It's raining depth charges.
16:01 D3, D4.
16:04 Ha ha ha.
16:05 You suck my battleship.
16:07 Good job, Wonder Woman.
16:08 [MUSIC PLAYING]
16:12 Oh.
16:14 No.
16:15 Who are these guys?
16:17 These are related to Brainiac somehow.
16:19 They've got that vibe.
16:22 They got red eyes.
16:23 Can't be trusted.
16:24 Pull over.
16:25 [LAUGHS]
16:27 What is happening?
16:29 We had help.
16:31 Some sort of Aquaman.
16:33 Ha.
16:34 Oh, dang.
16:36 Maybe they can be trusted even with their red eyes.
16:39 So is Atlantis in the Bermuda Triangle?
16:42 That would make sense.
16:44 That's why all those disappearances.
16:47 Wow.
16:49 Cool.
16:50 This is so, like, sprawling.
16:52 It's exciting because I don't know any of this canon,
16:54 so it's, like, all new.
16:55 Yeah.
16:56 I'm loving this.
16:57 I am Arthur, ruler of Atlantis and all of the oceans of this world.
17:00 Why should I care about the affairs of those above?
17:03 Because these Nazis will not stop until the whole world is theirs,
17:07 above and below.
17:08 As above, so below.
17:11 I think you speak true, daughter of Apollo.
17:13 I will help you.
17:14 There is something I have that might turn the tide in your favor.
17:17 Ah, the tide.
17:18 The tide.
17:19 It's an ocean pun.
17:20 He's got puns.
17:21 The king of Atlantis made a pun.
17:23 Ah.
17:25 Yes.
17:26 I see nothing.
17:27 Quite.
17:28 Aw, damn it.
17:30 Betrayal.
17:31 Why, Aquaman?
17:32 Why?
17:33 Aqua Nazi.
17:35 Atlantean magic is quite powerful.
17:37 There's no use in trying to escape.
17:40 Heil Hitler.
17:42 Oh, no.
17:43 Aqua Nazi.
17:44 Aqua Nazi.
17:46 A storm destroyed my ship and the Atlanteans saved me.
17:51 Little did they know that my particular talents would grant me control of their king.
17:57 Aw.
17:58 You set us up.
17:59 The war is all but over and you have lost.
18:03 Enjoy the solitude of this prison.
18:06 Aw.
18:07 It's time to show those above what true power looks like.
18:10 Should make his mustache shadow just a little more narrow.
18:13 Bring it in a little bit.
18:15 I mean, he does look like the Aryan, you know, ideal men.
18:18 He is pretty much the ideal, yep.
18:20 Blonde, blue-eyed, should have known.
18:22 Although, if we can somehow combine our energy, we might regain full power.
18:26 How will that bypass magic?
18:28 Physics are universal, Diana.
18:29 When I was younger, I could vibrate between molecules.
18:32 Eh.
18:33 Seriously?
18:34 You can do that?
18:35 What the heck have I been doing all these years?
18:37 I love the back and forth.
18:39 Teaching each other how to flash.
18:40 Yeah.
18:41 Wiggity, wiggity, wiggity, wiggity, wiggity, hee, hee.
18:52 Dang.
18:54 Seize it.
18:58 Yes.
19:00 Where did your king go?
19:02 I will tell you nothing, mouth-breathing finless.
19:05 [Laughing]
19:08 I yield.
19:10 I yield.
19:12 That was fantastic.
19:14 That was a beautiful physical comedy.
19:16 One of the guards said that King Aquaman is headed down to the trench.
19:20 He's going to unlock some sort of cage.
19:22 What's in the cage?
19:23 A spin-off movie.
19:24 It would have been a Black Panther movie, and we would have liked it.
19:27 Yeah.
19:28 They're also committed to this sort of classic Hollywood lighting.
19:31 Yeah.
19:32 You know?
19:33 Very much of the era lighting.
19:34 The three-point nose loop kind of thing.
19:37 Talking to the shell.
19:39 Who knows what might happen.
19:40 What does this do?
19:41 [Grunts]
19:43 Atlantean pressure suit.
19:45 Cool.
19:46 Yeah.
19:47 Use your trident to focus your call.
19:52 Unlock the gate.
19:54 Bring the creatures.
19:56 Seal our victory.
19:58 Lock the gates.
19:59 [Humming]
20:01 Ooh, trident twirl.
20:03 Whoo.
20:05 Sweet.
20:08 Oh, yeah.
20:11 Come on, Flash, wake him up.
20:14 [Grunts]
20:16 Not so special without your suit.
20:18 Yeah.
20:19 Crappy Namor.
20:21 You're a strong one.
20:24 Don't worry.
20:25 You'll get your fill of violence.
20:28 Jeez.
20:31 Wake up.
20:37 No.
20:38 Something is wrong.
20:40 My head.
20:43 Ooh.
20:44 Uh-oh, they got a power player.
20:55 Uh-oh.
20:56 Legends of the hidden temple.
20:59 Release the Kraken.
21:00 They let out Chathulu.
21:01 Yes.
21:02 The elder gods are angry.
21:04 Good.
21:11 No.
21:16 Atlanteans always invade in beaches.
21:19 Wowie.
21:22 We got hover tanks.
21:30 Oof.
21:31 How about a real fight?
21:39 How's that for some sonar?
21:47 Oh, jeez.
21:48 Why are you watching?
21:49 Yeah.
21:50 Leave.
21:51 Got a perfect view from the balcony, hon.
21:53 Let's watch the end of the world.
21:54 Join the army.
21:55 Fight Nazis.
21:57 Fall in love with an Amazonian princess and end up in an Atlantean tank taking on bad guys.
22:02 Steve Trevor, never complain about being bored again.
22:05 It was all in the pamphlet, man.
22:08 You knew what you were signing up for.
22:09 They warned you.
22:11 Ah, Cathulu.
22:13 Damn.
22:16 Shit.
22:20 Ooh, big flying shark boy.
22:22 Yeah, it's like a shark and a stingray combined.
22:27 There it is.
22:30 Ugh.
22:35 Call Charlie Hunnam in the mech suits.
22:38 Yeah, where's the Pacific Rim team?
22:41 There's some Jaegers in here.
22:42 We need the Jaegers.
22:48 You know who we haven't seen in a while?
22:50 That Shakespeare fellow.
22:52 Oh, no.
22:53 Nah, he's back home writing news stories, man.
22:55 He's just typing away.
22:57 Not going to come back.
22:58 Wouldn't help out.
22:59 No foreshadowing there.
23:00 No, no, no.
23:01 He's going to have a suit to pay off.
23:09 These two.
23:12 My hero.
23:13 Oh, no.
23:15 No.
23:16 Hogman, you did so much talking.
23:18 That's the price we pay for dialogue.
23:21 This is the last moment of saving her and never talking again.
23:29 Reincarnate.
23:34 Aw.
23:36 Yeah.
23:43 No.
23:45 Save him with true love's kiss.
23:50 Aw.
23:54 Aw, buddy.
23:58 Time to go ham.
24:00 Unleash it, canary.
24:02 Yes.
24:04 Oh, no.
24:08 No, no.
24:10 Crab monster.
24:13 Nice.
24:14 Nice, man.
24:18 Get it in the mouth through the eyes.
24:20 Come on, Jay, come on.
24:21 It's like one of those video game bosses.
24:23 Yes.
24:26 Sorry, I'm an American.
24:29 We don't do surrender.
24:32 Nice.
24:33 Murica.
24:35 Throw down fighting.
24:37 Oh.
24:38 Yeah.
24:39 Steve.
24:41 Jeez.
24:44 Oh.
24:48 Dang.
24:53 You bonk him hard enough on the head.
24:55 Keep bonking.
24:58 Yes.
24:59 Cool.
25:01 Oh.
25:04 Oh.
25:05 Oh.
25:07 By the face.
25:11 You call that a scream?
25:13 Yes.
25:17 Oh.
25:20 It's going to peel flesh from bone.
25:25 Oh, my God, it is going to peel flesh from bone.
25:27 Oh, jeez.
25:30 She just skinned that street shark.
25:34 Meanwhile, in the crab fight.
25:36 I need a little help over here.
25:38 Crab battle.
25:39 Perfect.
25:42 Take him bowling.
25:45 You're pretty tough on the outside.
25:48 Yes.
25:51 Take him.
25:56 Oh, Jesus.
25:59 Oh, my God, it's so metal.
26:07 So nth metal.
26:09 Rest in peace.
26:10 Yes, Steve.
26:12 God.
26:14 Steve Trevor's the coolest.
26:20 No.
26:22 I admire your bravery, but your fate will be like the rest.
26:25 You have no business fighting with gods.
26:31 Take it back.
26:32 Oh, you're about to get junky XL'd.
26:34 Yes.
26:39 Come on.
26:41 What's the key here?
26:47 Oh.
26:53 Yeah, no, you did this.
26:55 You should.
27:02 Yeah, that's your dog.
27:05 Probably call him back.
27:10 I'm sorry.
27:11 I didn't mean to.
27:12 Yeah.
27:19 There you go.
27:20 We're just going to leave.
27:21 I'm so sorry.
27:22 Just tagging out.
27:23 Just following orders.
27:24 It's all good.
27:25 It's all good, everybody.
27:26 You think this means you've won?
27:29 You and your league.
27:31 Society.
27:32 It's a society, man.
27:34 The sound of failure.
27:37 You're just a dude.
27:38 Yeah, man.
27:39 He's got psychic powers.
27:40 He's not just a dude.
27:41 He needs MacGuffins and stuff.
27:43 He's like the real Hitler.
27:44 He's not even as great as his master race.
27:47 No.
27:48 No.
27:49 What?
27:50 Oh, damn it.
27:57 Yes.
28:03 Did he miss every major organ?
28:05 Each thing in the trident?
28:06 That three prongs trident.
28:07 We have to do something.
28:09 We might not have to.
28:10 Look.
28:12 There he is.
28:14 Shakespeare.
28:17 There he is.
28:19 You have a mustache.
28:20 Is this the justice league?
28:22 No, he shaved.
28:27 He shaved.
28:28 CGI shaved.
28:30 It's true.
28:31 If you look at his upper lip, it's all different.
28:33 It's real distorted.
28:34 Jeez, man.
28:40 The Uber man.
28:42 He shaved.
28:44 Were you just a reporter?
28:49 I was.
28:50 Am.
28:51 But I couldn't sit on the sidelines any longer.
28:53 I guess it was time to get in the game.
28:55 I thought when the war was over, we'd--
28:58 Tomorrow is never guaranteed.
29:02 Only today.
29:03 That's why we fight, right?
29:05 So what do you say, Diana?
29:08 Grant a dying man his final request?
29:11 Aw.
29:14 No, no, no, no.
29:16 Oh, come on.
29:18 Oh.
29:19 I wish I could stay, but I've got a world of my own that needs all the help it can get.
29:26 Aw.
29:28 You understood why I said no.
29:30 I was wrong.
29:35 Oh, yeah.
29:40 Give him a little push.
29:44 Wow.
29:48 Whoa.
29:50 Double flashes.
29:54 Oh.
29:57 Damn.
29:59 It's the moment he left.
30:01 Oh, that was cool.
30:02 Yeah.
30:03 Brainiac won't be the last to show up and threaten our cities, our world.
30:06 But there are also others like us.
30:08 If we stick together, we can keep the peace, fight for truth, the American way.
30:13 Hey, they actually said it.
30:15 Oh, shoot.
30:16 I forgot something.
30:17 Glad some things haven't changed.
30:19 Aw.
30:22 I know we said that we could always have tomorrow, but whatever tomorrows I have, I want them to be with you.
30:27 Barry, what are you doing?
30:30 Will you marry me?
30:31 Yes.
30:32 Aw.
30:35 It's just the right size as Wonder Woman.
30:41 Aw.
30:45 Cute.
30:46 That was lovely.
30:48 Cute.
30:53 Darren Criss was Superman.
30:55 Matt Bomer I thought was Flash.
30:57 It was Darren Criss last time, yeah.
30:59 Mercer is our man.
31:01 Hell yeah.
31:02 Okay, okay.
31:05 Liam McIntyre was Aquaman, so not a slowed down Phileas.
31:09 Nope.
31:10 Someone else entirely.
31:11 That sounds weird.
31:12 Let's just drop Phileas an octave.
31:14 Yeah.
31:15 Aw, man, I love that.
31:17 I love that.
31:18 And it's such linear writing, but at no point did I parallel the Steve Trevor, Diana relationship with his.
31:24 That was the whole point, and I missed it, which I love.
31:26 Yeah, yeah.
31:28 This was so rich, and it had so many different elements, because the World War II threat is obviously very vital and very snappy and engaged, but everybody's got a bit of a character story.
31:41 There's romance to spare.
31:43 Yeah.
31:45 And actual, not just people falling in love, but I like--
31:49 There's love.
31:50 There's backstory.
31:51 There's weight.
31:52 Yeah, the whole Steve and Diana thing was very charming, but also came with a heavy cost, and I'm curious, actually, because the Wonder Woman portrayal here is very much a warrior woman.
32:06 Yeah, a little more stoic.
32:07 Who has a bit more stoicism, a bit more stern.
32:10 Didn't bother me like it did in the-- because she's not not that.
32:13 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
32:14 But at no point did she feel like she was a warrior at the cost of her good, and that was my issue with the New 52 stuff.
32:21 It felt like her being a warrior was a blunt object, where she was just like--
32:26 She likes being a warrior, whereas this is my duty.
32:29 This is what I have to do.
32:30 One of the last things she said was, "When this is over, I want to see it." That felt like that good was still there, but she had to be a warrior in times of war, as opposed to the other one where it was like, "Throw me at stuff. I'm the rock."
32:41 "Let me at 'em. Let me at 'em."
32:42 Yeah, like, "I don't like Scrappy. Do Wonder Woman."
32:44 So, like, this totally worked for me because it was still her goodness, and even though it was times of war, she was still under there.
32:52 Yeah, absolutely. And I mean, I thought it was cool to see her leading the team. I thought she made, like, a good--
32:57 I love the thing with Shakespeare's Superman and having to, you know, sort of coax him into it, and then the alternate origin.
33:04 2021, this is recent. So it was well after the Wonder Woman movie.
33:07 Well, yeah, and I was wondering, too, during this, if they changed up her accent specifically to sort of hearken to Gal Gadot.
33:15 And I'm guessing in the Tomorrowverse, there is no Steve Trevor, as he is canon dead.
33:19 So they definitely did the, like, you know, time travel element, but in a different way, but also it was a different universe. So I guess there could be.
33:25 I guess--
33:26 Because we haven't met our Wonder Woman.
33:27 What I was wondering, yeah, is that now, I mean, this certainly seems like it's setting that up, and we know from Long Halloween that that is pretty, you know, isolated on its own.
33:36 So we've had a Batman Long Halloween, we've had a Superman introduction, and now we've got Flash and Superman as a way to start the Justice League.
33:44 Yeah, so I gotta imagine whatever's next, there'll be, like, more present-day Justice League members.
33:49 And this was two years ago, so I imagine this is, like, the universe as it is now. Like, whatever they're making currently.
33:55 I guess so.
33:56 I'm guessing.
33:57 Or at least, I don't know if the Tomorrowverse continues, 'cause they just released a new movie recently, it was, like, something Batman Doom or something like that.
34:06 Yeah.
34:07 And then they've got another Crisis movie on the verge that's coming out soon.
34:12 Yeah, I think they're doing Crisis on some amalgamation of Earths.
34:17 How many Earths we got? We got some Infinite, we got a couple of 'em, we got some Earths.
34:20 Yeah, yeah, yeah.
34:21 I mean, I'm just curious if the Tomorrowverse, you know, keeps going, or does it end before we get to the present day? 'Cause we're closer, 2021, this wasn't long ago.
34:27 Yeah, I mean, we've got at least a couple more in this continuity, I think, at minimum, but...
34:32 'Cause the next one in canon would've been Batman.
34:36 Following this would be Batman.
34:37 Okay, so now, so it went Flash, it went Superman, Flash founding the Justice League, but Batman was mentioned in Superman.
34:44 Yes.
34:45 And now we're going to meet Superman, in order, and then whatever's next.
34:48 Yeah, meet Batman, and then whatever's next.
34:50 Keeping it all up here. It's all going.
34:53 And especially for the second installment to be like, "Okay, we're jumping into an alternate dimension, and there are Justice League groups that aren't going to appear as they appeared here."
35:02 I thought it was cool, 'cause, you know, sitting here and having seen various, recently seen various takes on Barry going back in time and changing things with the Speed Force and all that stuff,
35:14 this was a really cool twist on all that that managed to harken to those without being, "Oh, we're just doing another Flashpoint, but it's in World War II."
35:22 Yeah, it was a Flashpoint, but in a totally different way.
35:24 And it allowed for Wonder Woman to be in the second film without it being the Wonder Woman we might have.
35:29 Yeah, totally. And it's like, I love that they had Barry as our sort of eyeline, and I love that he fits into the story whilst also sort of, I don't know,
35:39 still allowing the rest of the Justice Society to kind of have that spotlight.
35:44 He's a really good sort of comic relief. He's a good eyeline for us, and it's really fun to watch him play off of Jay Garrick.
35:51 But also, I feel like you still get to have the full brunt of just the fun and excitement of seeing the Justice Society do their thing.
36:01 And this particular team I thought was really nice.
36:04 It was cool to see Our Man. I've never seen him animated.
36:06 Yeah, like Our Man, Canary.
36:09 Hawkman Speaks.
36:11 Hawkman Speaks. And even he, I loved the moments between him and Black Canary.
36:19 Yeah, that bond there was interesting.
36:22 Yeah, and that little subtle thing of, "Maybe she'll take off." In a way that's never really obvious, they make her out to be the most on the edge of the team.
36:32 And so yeah, by the end it seems like she more fully embraces it, despite the loss of Hawkman.
36:38 The moments of rudeness with Strange, and also that glance, I really liked.
36:42 I liked the use of the invading Atlanteans, like we've seen a few times before, but in this context it had that storming Normandy, but storming Santa Monica.
36:51 Yeah, it really did.
36:53 I was like, "Are they doing the Normandy invasion with Santa Monica?"
36:57 But it worked for the story really well.
36:59 Yeah, I mean it works in terms of iconography, because obviously blonde haired, blue eyed Arthur Curry.
37:04 Yep, sure is Nazi.
37:06 Yeah, but then having that little piece of almost Indiana Jones-esque historical fiction of the Nazis are always looking for these artifacts and stuff, and they're always looking for occultish magical ways to help their efforts.
37:20 And what do they do? They found the Atlanteans and sort of brainwashed their whole fleet.
37:24 And the torture elements were very much like what we know of the horrors of the Nazis.
37:29 And I liked that they might have taken Dr. Fate, sorry, no, Dr. Fate. I said Strange earlier and I knew it was wrong and then I corrected myself and it felt wrong twice.
37:38 I knew it was Fate, don't @ me.
37:40 We gotta get you back to your right time, Coy.
37:43 What universe am I in? But Dr. Fate being someone that would have an artifact, and someone they would torture for information, that all felt very appropriate to the horrors of what they built here.
37:52 And if you saw my Superman video, there's a lot of Jewish iconography in Superman because he was invented by a pair of Jewish creators who were coping with the horrors of the time.
38:03 And that's why I've always liked the Superman vs. the Klan comic and certain elements of him fighting Nazis is a lot like Captain America fighting Nazis for me.
38:11 It feels like this is the way it should be. So him coming back then to take down all those planes and stuff was like, yeah.
38:17 Yeah, it was great. And like a lot of really great, like this also felt like a war movie and it had multiple sequences that harken to different aspects of different war movies.
38:28 You have your stuff like out on, you know, these crumbling European cities and things like that.
38:33 And you're sort of no man's land type of, you know, like grounded warfare moments.
38:38 Then you have naval, like submarine and boat battles.
38:41 Then you have aerial battles and then you get creatures and stuff like that.
38:45 But this sort of ran the gamut of all the different sort of places we had to fight in the land, in the air, the sea.
38:51 And then, you know, you're you're raiding this castle, which has like a sort of doom, almost like Wolfenstein, like less, you know, crazy heavy metal creature zombies.
39:00 But, you know, it still has that sort of like Wolfenstein exploitation.
39:04 He kind of feel about it. And and the action, I thought, was the action really so well shot, so well shot and captured.
39:11 And like the power sets and everything.
39:15 Well, I mean, that's the thing. I mean, like it still is.
39:17 You're still figuring out lighting, still figuring out frames, angles, movement, blocking the camera.
39:22 Like this was forgive the pun, but it was so punchy and it had so much energy and flavor.
39:28 Yeah, I really think this was one of the more specific ones.
39:31 They made choices and they committed and they decided the theme and the tone and they like engaged with the audience the whole time.
39:37 And they still did it while having all these characters get their time in the sun.
39:41 It didn't feel like the setting took over the characters, but it felt like they adjusted the characters accordingly in a way that was really on brand.
39:49 Yeah, I really like this one. This was really special. This was a lot of fun.
39:52 Yeah, no, I loved the I loved the combination of getting, yeah, all the range of heroism and sci fi that you want out of your DC characters,
40:01 but also a truly committed throwback to the World War Two era.
40:06 I love Constantine's in the Tomorrowverse because now at this point, they've given us a really cool second movie swing.
40:12 So I'm really we don't know what's coming. So it's really exciting to see like this is not something I would expect as a second movie.
40:18 So I'm really curious what the Tomorrowverse becomes.
40:20 Yeah, because that means they did a Superman movie to launch, a Elseworld and then a two parter Batman.
40:26 Yeah, what a crazy journey. What is the pacing of this?
40:29 Tomorrowverse is like, let's just go. Let's just do whatever seems like it will work.
40:33 Yeah, so like Chase, our wildest so far, I'm in.
40:36 I like. Yeah, I mean, I've loved this Tomorrowverse journey thus far.
40:41 And I mean, certainly the Batman long Halloween's have their own Batman kind of isolated quality.
40:46 They certainly seem like they work on their own.
40:48 But this, especially the way this in those brief prologue and epilogue moments tied into the current timeline and Barry disappearing right before catching the bullet, coming back right behind.
40:58 So cool. So great. And yeah, like even though I feel like it would have felt more random if we were only in the past and never had this little book.
41:07 It's really nice. Yeah, that worked.
41:09 I love this, especially as a Flashpoint story. I like I knew when we watched we started this with Flashpoint.
41:14 I knew I like Flashpoint stories. I did not know this would be one and how much I'd love it.
41:19 So I officially love Flashpoint stories because I was really special way to tell that.
41:22 Yeah, I loved kind of every layer this was going for. Yeah. Well, humor, good personality, good everything.
41:28 And the specificity. Keep making specific stuff. If you got archetypal characters, you make a specific story because you've got the trust of the audience in the characters.
41:35 Make more stuff like this. This was awesome. Let us know in the comments.
41:39 I did not look this one up to see if people loved it or hated it.
41:42 A lot of times we watch these and everybody's like, well, that was the worst thing ever.
41:45 So it's really cool to see, like without knowing that, like the people's opinion.
41:50 And then now I'm going to look up to people's opinion. But let's get a patron of the day shout out before we boogie on out of here.
41:55 Who we got? Zia.
41:57 Patron of the day, shout out to Garth McMurray. This gentleman with the love of Superman.
42:05 This gentleman must love the Shakespearean twist.
42:08 This gentleman must have quite enjoyed the way it was handled and ended.
42:12 And I feel like Garth McMurray also is an Elseworld guy.
42:15 So I feel like this was like the right one. I feel like this is the right patron to shout out as we begin this Elseworld journey.
42:22 Garth, we appreciate your justice, your league, your society and your love of the American way.
42:29 Much appreciated Garth McMurray as ever.
42:32 Because, yeah, this feels like your cup of tea. So hopefully you've seen this one.
42:35 Hopefully you see us talking about you here. And if you haven't seen this one, you should go watch this one.
42:39 But you shouldn't have seen it without. I mean, it wouldn't have made sense to watch us watch it in pieces.
42:43 Hopefully you've seen it. But we thank you very much, Garth McMurray.
42:47 You super sexy reject. Much, much appreciated.
42:50 You let us know also what you want us to watch next. Because, yeah, I'm enjoying the hell out of these.
42:54 Much love, y'all. That is going to do it for this episode of Jon and Koi Watch Stuff They've Never Seen Before.
42:59 And quite enjoy it. Tune in next time as we discover where the Tmarvers goes, I assume.
43:05 And what a swing so far. I've been digging it. We'll see you soon. Much love. Peace.
43:10 Much love. Much love.
