00:00 Good morning everybody, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press and it's Tuesday, August the 15th.
00:05 I'm just bringing you our headlines this morning. We've finally got some information regarding the
00:12 incident, the major incident that happened in Doncaster in the early hours of yesterday morning.
00:18 The police are telling us that a man has died after a hit and run which took place not far
00:26 from the police station actually. It's taken them a full day to get back to us with the
00:32 information about that but that's at the top of our website now if you want to read about
00:36 the information that they've been forthcoming with. Then another sad story, I put together a
00:46 tribute yesterday, last week we lost one of Doncaster's famous faces, Barry Bruce,
00:54 who was the face of Furniture Factors. I know a lot of people have shopped there over the years,
01:00 he was there for a good few decades. I bought my first sofa from there. So we've got some
01:07 information about his life, how he got started and how he worked his way up the business ladder to
01:13 become the famous face he is and to make a success of that firm. Then we've also got a piece that's
01:20 actually come from Nottinghamshire Police. They managed to discover cannabis growth,
01:28 about 147 plants they tell us. But in the meantime whilst they were investigating that they also came
01:36 across a person who they believe to be in the country illegally. So they will be dealt with
01:44 accordingly. So for those three stories and for anything else which is happening in Doncaster
01:49 today, please visit the website which is www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk and I hope you have a really, really good Tuesday.
