00:00 The month long process of the pond rebuilding efforts came to an end on Sunday afternoon following those devastating spring floods.
00:07 23 ABC's Ruby Rivera spoke with those who have had their houses restored.
00:12 The last week of the project consisted mainly of finishing touches.
00:16 However, both residents and volunteers say it sees updates that made all the difference.
00:21 Adding the sight of their houses is truly better than anyone could have expected.
00:26 It was a shock and it was really nice, really, really good.
00:31 Pond resident Vivian Blevins has been away from home since the flooding and has been missing home ever since.
00:36 She only saw her flooded home through pictures and she says it was a devastating feeling.
00:41 However, Blevins describes her emotions as the complete opposite when she saw her home completed Sunday afternoon.
00:47 Blevins says she is looking forward to moving back in entirely and spending time with her family
00:51 and says that wouldn't be possible without the help from volunteers.
00:55 Immediate disaster response coordinator for God's Pick Crew, Chris Child, says this project was truly an amazing sight to see.
01:02 Child says God's Pick Crew typically doesn't get to see their projects to the end, which makes this project a little more meaningful.
01:08 However, he says this isn't the only thing that he's grateful for.
01:12 Just the community that has been built here.
01:15 We came to gut houses and then to put homes back together, but we really built a community.
01:20 The neighbors are talking to each other. They're spending time with each other, working in each other's homes.
01:25 So and I think that's more important than the houses.
01:27 With such a quick turnaround, Child says each house came out even better than he expected.
01:32 He says watching each home turn into its own style has been a unique experience and is happy to have been a part of it.
01:38 Blevins says she is amazed at just how quick volunteers were able to renovate her home and says because of them, she will soon be sleeping in her own bed.
01:45 I just can't thank them enough. It's just unbelievable how good it is.
01:52 Residents say it's truly amazing to see what can happen when the community comes together in support.
01:58 Saying they can't thank volunteers enough and only hope to return the favor one day.
