00:00 [MUSIC PLAYING]
00:03 All right, pizza review time, early, early.
00:12 It's like 10, 15 AM.
00:14 Now, I guess-- what?
00:16 Looked up.
00:17 No?
00:17 I got to say something.
00:18 We are at Spring Street Deli, 132 Spring Street, Saratoga.
00:25 I like gatekeeping things.
00:26 You can't in my world.
00:28 And it may even be insulting to be like, oh, Dave,
00:29 you're going to gatekeep this place, Spring Street Deli.
00:33 Well, let me tell you something.
00:34 I've been coming to Saratoga forever.
00:36 I've always driven past this place on the track.
00:38 I'm like, oh, I've got to give this a shot.
00:39 I guess-- I didn't even know they had pizza.
00:41 I just always see people hanging out before the track.
00:44 It looked like a cool, good spot.
00:46 Never stopped in.
00:48 So people gatekeep this--
00:49 hey, asshole, everyone knows about this place.
00:51 Long story short, I moved to Saratoga.
00:54 I'm doing my daily walks to get my steps in.
00:56 I come by.
00:57 I walk in.
00:58 I'm like, oh my god, how I've not been in here.
00:59 I had-- I'm not going to lie.
01:01 I had a breakfast sandwich, bacon, egg, and cheese yesterday.
01:05 That's when I went in the first time
01:07 and saw that they did pizza.
01:10 Well, I can't say.
01:10 The breakfast egg and cheese, the bacon, egg, and cheese,
01:13 the breakfast sandwich, the bacon, egg, and cheese
01:16 was a 9.1, hands down.
01:17 I have it there to show you.
01:19 It was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had.
01:22 The only thing that to make it stronger,
01:24 yesterday the bacon wasn't totally crispy like how
01:27 I like it, but the bread, the egg, the cheese, 9.1
01:31 breakfast sandwich within walking distance of my house.
01:35 And they asked me.
01:36 I'm talking a lot.
01:38 Not on Adderall.
01:38 I don't know why I'm going so fast.
01:40 It's track day.
01:41 It's Jim Dandy day.
01:42 They're like, are you going to try the pizza?
01:44 It was 930 AM.
01:45 I'm like, what do you mean?
01:46 You guys are making it now?
01:48 I guess a lot of people come in and get
01:49 the pizza before the track.
01:50 They're open till 8 PM.
01:53 They have every food under the sun, including pizza.
01:56 Here we go.
01:57 Truth be told, I think this is going to be a sandwich spot,
01:59 not a pizza spot.
02:01 Anybody that has the electric pizza sign,
02:03 I don't always trust.
02:04 But here we go.
02:05 One bite, everyone knows the rules.
02:08 It's actually different looking.
02:10 It's a fluffy looking bar pie.
02:13 See that crust?
02:14 That to me is like fluffy bar pie, which I like.
02:19 You know what's also crazy?
02:20 Not a lot of people have recommended this to me.
02:23 This almost seems like the Glenville slice
02:25 that I had just the other day, like half bar pie, half fluffy.
02:29 One bite, everyone knows the rules.
02:30 Here we go.
02:31 Not gatekeeping.
02:32 I almost don't want to give this place away
02:34 if people know about it, because I
02:35 plan on getting a breakfast sandwich here every day
02:38 I'm at the track, put on some pounds, go around for a walk.
02:40 All right.
02:41 All right, here we go.
02:41 One bite, everyone knows the rules.
02:43 10 AM.
02:45 Who does pizza reviews at 10 AM?
02:46 [MUSIC PLAYING]
02:49 It almost looks like the pizza last night that you did.
02:58 No.
02:59 No?
03:00 No.
03:02 That's just wrong.
03:03 It is like the Glenville place that I think I just gave a 7.8
03:08 to, sort of in the neighborhood of like a poor man's Patsy's
03:13 from Patterson.
03:14 It's light and flaky.
03:15 This is like bar pizza, Frankie, but not--
03:18 it's like a fluffy bar pie.
03:20 Interesting undercarriage.
03:22 Interesting oven, probably.
03:23 I can't believe more people haven't told me
03:28 about this spot, though.
03:29 Like this is going to be now my hometown deli.
03:36 When I'm here, I'm coming here every day.
03:37 Pizza?
03:44 I like the style.
03:46 I really do.
03:47 I'm going to go 7.4.
03:50 And now let's show you the money maker here.
03:52 Something like a little bacon, egg, and cheese pizza combo
04:01 to start the day.
04:02 This could be yours, Elio.
04:03 I don't know.
04:04 What did you get?
04:04 Sausage on it?
04:05 No egg.
04:07 You got bacon, egg, and cheese, no egg?
04:09 Sausage, cheese, no egg.
04:12 I don't like that.
04:13 Well, this is you.
04:14 That's disgusting.
04:16 No egg?
04:16 So you take the egg out?
04:17 You don't like egg?
04:18 Eh, not really.
04:21 Yeah, that's not even a breakfast sandwich, then.
04:24 That is a spectacular looking breakfast sandwich.
04:27 Let's see if it's still-- it's been sitting in a bag
04:29 for about 10 minutes waiting for the pizza.
04:32 Yeah.
04:34 9.1 breakfast sandwich.
04:35 The only thing I'd say is give me that a little crispier,
04:39 and then you're like a 9.7.
04:40 But the bread's so soft, egg's perfect.
04:45 I get so fat eating these every day, though.
04:47 That bread looks good.
04:49 Wait till I taste it.
04:49 It's a 9.1 sandwich.
04:50 Spring Street.
04:52 I don't think I can gatekeep it, because I think
04:54 everyone knows about it.
04:55 But somehow, I had never eaten here
04:56 in my entire Saratoga life, and I was missing out.
