00:00 I think Jimmy here, there's been talk of, you know,
00:03 when you were asked, you know, by that in the season
00:06 about if he's going to come back,
00:07 and a lot of people have been quite dismissive
00:10 of him really saying anything about his legacy
00:12 or what he's done.
00:13 Do you have any regrets about that
00:15 or the way that comment was perceived?
00:17 I think I've talked about his legacy.
00:20 I mean, I think Jimmy was unbelievable for us.
00:22 We won lots of games.
00:23 I think that was a simple question.
00:25 Is there a scenario where he'll be back here next year
00:27 and I gave a common-sense answer and no.
00:30 I think that was a little overblown on trying
00:32 to be a shot at him or anything.
00:33 I mean, we knew Jimmy wasn't coming back on his standpoint
00:36 and our standpoint financially and everything.
00:38 So that was just the common-sense answer.
00:40 But anytime I've been asked about Jimmy
00:42 and what he meant to us and how he was,
00:44 I've never said it differently.
00:45 So Jimmy was unbelievable here.
00:47 I think he was the best quarterback here
00:49 about 20 years since Steve Young has an unbelievable record.
00:52 And every time he played and stayed healthy,
00:54 we were either in the Super Bowl or an NCAA Championship game.
00:56 So I hope no one insinuates I've ever said differently.
00:59 - Did you get a chance to catch up on your United?
01:02 - No, I would have liked to, but they're on different fields.
01:04 So I didn't really get to talk to one of their offensive guys.
01:07 Got to see a number of their defensive guys though.
01:09 - Is it good to just see Brock mix
01:11 in a moment of everything?
01:14 - Yeah, I enjoy seeing all our guys against other people
01:16 because we just get sick of the same stuff
01:19 over and over again, the same style of D-line,
01:20 the same coverages.
01:21 So it's always fun to go out and do new things.
01:23 One-on-one's a lot more fun.
01:26 Not everyone's so used to each other and how they do it.
01:28 So it's kind of a new day.
01:29 We'll see how they adjust tomorrow.
01:30 But that's why we like doing this stuff.
01:31 It's a fine line because it sometimes gets
01:34 a little more physical and things like that.
01:36 And you never want to get guys hurt.
01:37 And I was really glad how both teams handled it today.
01:39 I thought it was a smooth practice
01:41 and helps both teams get better.
01:42 - Is Brock on pace where you want him to be?
01:44 - Yeah, Brock's completely on pace.
01:46 - Kyle, you mentioned a fascinating way
01:48 of the interview with Phillip Rivers.
01:51 You're going to the championship game.
01:53 Is that like a super?
01:55 - Yeah.
01:56 - Is that based on a conversation you had with him
02:00 prior to?
02:01 - Yep.
02:01 - OK.
02:02 Because he was on board with that plan.
02:06 - He was prepared to.
02:07 Yeah, no.
02:08 It was stuff we talked about throughout the whole year.
02:11 We would have had to seen how that was for the Super Bowl.
02:13 But that was the plan most of the year.
02:15 - You weren't prepared?
02:16 - I would have been.
02:18 - What did you see out of the Red Defense,
02:19 especially the Red Lions?
02:21 - They got some good players.
02:22 I mean, I know they don't have their first-round pick
02:25 out there with Tyree.
02:25 But just their pass rush, their secondary.
02:28 Patrick does a real good job everywhere he's been.
02:30 I think they're going to be a real good team this year.
02:32 They played us well last year.
02:34 It was one of our toughest games.
02:35 And I think they're only taking steps forward.
02:37 - Getting back to Jimmy Broccoli,
02:39 can you just talk about what he brings to the table
02:41 in terms of, obviously, from a coaching perspective,
02:44 but also what they are getting in the player population?
02:47 - I mean, there's not many people in this planet
02:50 who can play quarterback at the level that Jimmy can.
02:52 I mean, there's definitely not 32.
02:54 And I really don't think there's 15.
02:57 So to have one of those guys always gives you a chance.
03:00 And they got a guy that they got a chance to win with.
03:02 That's all you can ask for.
03:03 And you know the type of thrower he is.
03:05 You know the type of plays he can make.
03:06 And guys like to play hard for him also.
