00:04 Where's good for afternoon tea?
00:06 I want to try Charnock Farm at Neal Eyland.
00:10 Really good. And even if you've not booked, they'll do something for you.
00:14 Really nice. Nice atmosphere, nice surroundings.
00:18 Yeah, it's lovely. Does other food as well, but really lovely area.
00:24 Can you remember what kind of food was on it?
00:27 Paninis, tortillas, oh do you mean on the afternoon tea menu?
00:33 Three different types of sandwiches, scone, far too much for two, more stone.
00:40 Millionaire's shortbread, cream with the scone and jam.
00:50 Little pots of soup.
00:52 Oh, that's a new one.
00:54 Yeah, it was lovely. And then your tea and coffee.
00:57 Where's good to go for afternoon tea?
00:59 If I was going to go somewhere special, I'll go to Bussiana's.
01:03 It's in, I think, Fishergate down the road.
01:05 It's really old-fashioned and retro and they do lovely sandwiches and paninis and drinks and other nice items.
01:14 Have you been before?
01:15 I've been a few times with friends. I've had jack potatoes there and paninis and coffee and it's been lovely.
01:21 But afternoon teas are a special occasion?
01:23 Yeah, it's something I only go for, you know, a special occasion if I haven't seen my friend for a bit and I can't show up.
01:30 Is there anything else, any other place you can think of?
01:34 Usual places like Costa and that. But if you want to see a bit different, Bussiana's definitely on the list.
01:42 Where's good to go for afternoon tea?
01:44 We used to go to Valerie Putty Street just down the road but that's closed down.
01:48 My daughter does it at home and she does a very, very nice one. All homemade cakes and sandwiches. Perfect.
01:54 Why is it better?
01:55 Because it's homemade. It's a relaxed atmosphere and it's just so nice.
02:01 My daughter's there and I'm with her, obviously, because she makes it for me and she does it for her birthday, which is nice for us all.
02:07 We just get together. It's a nice little get-together as well. I thoroughly enjoy it.
02:11 Where's good to go for afternoon tea?
02:14 There's nowhere really to go for afternoon tea anymore. I don't really go, but I used to go.
02:21 You could get frappes, cakes. There was always a music vibe, but those kind of places are shutting down, especially in Preston.
02:32 Why do you think there might be less of them now?
02:35 I think it's because the vibe gets a bit boisterous sometimes and people prefer the proper English.
02:47 I want my butter on my scones kind of tea instead of friendly, more conversive.
02:56 As in you think afternoon teas get a bit too party?
02:59 Yeah.
