A 41-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with the attempted murder of a 16-year-old boy in Glasgow City Centre.

Police were called to an incident on Stockwell Street, near the St Enoch Centre at around 9:30pm on 4 August.

The boy is now in a serious condition in hospital.

Next, local businesses and people have been expressing frustration over the UCI Cycling World Championships currently taking place in the city, which has resulted in gridlocked traffic and made areas inaccessible.

More than 8,000 cyclists will be participating across a variety of contests.

A number of roads have been blocked off in order to make room for the event.

And in other news, the operator behind the popular restaurants Ka Pao and the Ox and Finch has been granted permission to convert an empty shop into a new venue.

The team can now turn the B-listed property at 68 Miller Street into a bar and restaurant.
