Trump Faces Arraignment Over 2020 Election Interference

Former President Donald Trump, considered a leading candidate for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, was arraigned in the E. Barrett Prettyman courthouse in Washington, D.C., facing criminal charges related to his attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results. Trump pleaded not guilty, and his next hearing is on August 28th. This is the third criminal case Trump is facing, having previously pleaded not guilty to federal charges over his retention of classified records after his term ended in 2021. The charges in the current case allege that Trump exploited the disruption caused by his supporters on January 6, 2021, to push lawmakers to delay the certification of President Joe Biden's victory.
