Why 49ers' Nick Bosa's Holdout Could Linger Through the Preseason
There isn't a rush for Nick Bosa to want a deal done compared to the 49ers who want him at training camp.

00:48 He's going to, you know, he's going to, he's going to probably have to be 15
00:51 pounds overweight and he's going to maybe have the wrong attitude.
00:55 I don't feel that way.
00:56 I feel that Bosa is the complete professional.

01:09 He didn't practice until he got his contract, which I think is fair, but he

01:19 And he was overweight, which is why we didn't give him the benefit of the doubt.

01:24 Cause he's never been 15 pounds overweight in his entire freaking life.

02:29 Um, I feel like there's probably more risk than reward for Bosa to be there
02:35 because the only person he can actually go against in camp that can make him
02:39 better is 35 year old Trent Williams, who doesn't practice that much.
02:43 So unless Nick Bosa is going against Trent Williams, he's going against some
02:49 guy who's going to be flailing around, trying hard to keep up with Bosa.
02:54 And what could happen is both gets hurt going against some backup.
02:58 It happened his rookie year.
02:59 He was playing some guy knocked into him.
03:03 He ended up getting like a high ankle sprain and infected him for like a month.
03:06 So, uh, that's another reason for him not to be here.

03:10 I mean, he has this like legendary gym with his dad and his brother.
03:13 They always come into the season in great shape.
03:17 So I think if he extends that session and spends more time in Florida, it might
03:21 extend his season because if you remember last year, he kind of ran out of gas the

03:29 He was on pace to break the sack record.
03:31 And all of a sudden he was going games without sacks.
03:33 It didn't do much in the playoffs.
03:34 So maybe he thought about it, talked about it with his dad and said, you know
03:38 what, forget training camp, keep working out here and maybe you'll last into
03:44 February this year.
