00:00 Young Filipinos have always felt the need for speed and adventure on the roads.
00:05 And even way back in the 60s, stock car or drag racing has been fair game to Filipinos who love to race and get behind the wheel.
00:12 On Sunday, some 300 auto racers will get the chance to showcase their driving skills in an array of race competitions that Gabi Natividad sums up in this report.
00:22 Car racing is not yet a recognized sport in the country.
00:28 Because of this, some racers resort to underground racing that's often illegal or unregistered.
00:33 Despite this, a handful of racers have been thriving in their considerable modest circles since the 1960s.
00:39 But now they are eyeing to place car racing into the mainstream as the biggest motorsport in the country kicked off yesterday.

01:59 More than 300 racers will compete in the said event that will last until August 6.
02:04 Despite the monsoon season, racers in the competition do not see this as a hindrance as they intend to showcase their competence in racing.
02:12 They will battle it out on the track of the seaside drive of Okada in Paranaque City to the province of Tarlac.
