00:00 Samsung just took the wraps off a ton of new products for Unpacked 2023.
00:04 These products promised big upgrades over last year, but of course, we won't know how good they
00:09 really are until we get our hands on them. Let's head inside this tech supermarket that Samsung
00:13 has set up for us and check them all out. So here is the entire Galaxy Unpacked 2023 lineup.
00:22 Of course, we've got the new Z Fold 5, we've got the Z Flip 5, the new Galaxy Tab S9 tablets,
00:29 and these new Watch 6 models. The vibe is very much colorful, fun, we've got a ton of great colors.
00:36 The most exciting addition to Samsung's lineup this year is the Galaxy Z Flip 5. What used to
00:41 be a small cover screen is being replaced by what Samsung is calling the Flex Window, and this gives
00:47 you a large 3.4-inch screen that lets you do pretty much most of what you need to do on a phone before
00:53 you ever even unfold the Z Flip 5. You've got widgets for your calendar, the weather, you can
00:59 use entire apps, so you're almost getting a full phone experience before you even open the phone.
01:05 Now, when you open the phone up, you're once again getting a smooth 120Hz AMOLED display,
01:11 you can multitask with two apps on the screen at once, there's a new Flex Hinge. This already slim
01:17 phone is even slimmer for 2023. The Snapdragon Plus Gen 2 processor should be able to handle
01:24 anything you throw at it. We just got our hands on the new Galaxy Tab range, which includes the
01:33 Galaxy Tab S9, the Galaxy Tab S+, and the extra-large 14-inch Galaxy S9 Ultra, which we're
01:41 looking at right here. Now, of everything we've seen today, the Galaxy Tab S9 series seems like
01:47 a more subtle upgrade. At first glance, if you have a Tab S8, there's probably not a huge reason
01:53 to swap out for this one, but there are some little things under the hood worth calling out.
01:58 The speakers are now 20% larger, which should make it better for multimedia. Of course, you're
02:02 getting that new Snapdragon Plus Gen 2 processor, which should make it even better for gaming.
02:07 We actually did a bunch of gaming right here on this thing, and it held up very well, not to
02:12 mention it looks fantastic on this huge 2X AMOLED display. And that's another significant thing. The
02:19 entire range is getting that dynamic AMOLED display. It was previously limited to the Ultra.
02:24 Some other highlights include a new S Pen that promises even lower latency. Obviously,
02:29 you have a ton of screen space, and you can fire up a ton of apps at once, as well as DeX Mode,
02:34 which allows you to basically use the tablet as a laptop with a keyboard enabled. You get a whole
02:40 new software interface that feels a lot like Windows. I've been a fan of this feature in the
02:44 past, but Android apps still have a ways to go in terms of functioning like reliable desktop apps.
02:49 We're taking a look at the Galaxy Z Fold 5, which hasn't been changed as dramatically as the Z Flip
02:58 5, but still has some notable upgrades that should make it a pretty compelling foldable.
03:02 The Z Fold 5 is getting the same new flex hinge as the Z Flip 5, which basically allows the overall
03:10 frame to be a little slimmer, and it allows the phone to actually fold completely flat. You won't
03:17 really see much empty space now. The Z Fold 5 is powered by the latest Snapdragon Plus Gen 2
03:23 processor, which is powering all the new Galaxy devices we're seeing today. And even in our early
03:28 hands-on time so far, we've been really impressed. We did a ton of multitasking on this thing,
03:33 running as many as four apps at once. We even did some pretty intensive gaming,
03:38 ran some Genshin Impact on here, and it all ran really well and also looks great.
03:44 A lot of the other significant upgrades kind of come in the form of software via the OneUI6 update.
03:50 So when you're in multitasking mode, you'll actually now get to look at your four most
03:57 recently used apps. You'll also get more flexibility in terms of freely moving windows
04:02 around, which kind of creates a more desktop-like experience. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is joined by a
04:09 new S Pen that's 41% slimmer than the previous generation. Unfortunately, the S Pen still does
04:14 not come with the Fold 5. Now, we've been a fan of the Fold series for a long time. We do think
04:20 it's a good pick for those power users that want the multitasking space, but Google also released
04:25 its own big screen foldable this year in the Pixel Fold. And the Pixel Fold has the advantage of
04:31 feeling more like a traditional smartphone when it's folded up, whereas the Fold might not give
04:36 you the screen real estate that you want in one-handed mode. Very excited to see how the
04:40 Z Fold 5 stacks up to the Pixel Fold. We're taking a look at the new Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 and Watch
04:49 6 Classic, both of which promise some intriguing upgrades in terms of design as well as the ways
04:54 they can improve your sleep and your overall health. One of the biggest changes can be found
04:59 in the Classic model, which brings back the rotating bezel from the Watch 4, makes it very
05:04 easy to just navigate between widgets, makes it feel a little more like a traditional watch.
05:10 Other upgrades, bezels have been slimmed down a bit overall, and you'll be getting around 20%
05:15 more active screen area. So, we've always been a fan of the health and fitness features on the
05:19 Galaxy Watch series. One of the big focuses for this year is on sleep. So, you'll get a ton of
05:24 detailed analysis on how you've been sleeping and you won't have to pull your phone out to get that
05:29 data. The Watch 6 now has FDA-approved regular heart scanning technology, so you can view the
05:37 ECG right from your watch, which is crucial and could be life-saving. You'll also get a new
05:42 one-click band design, so if you're someone who likes to swap out bands often, that should be a
05:47 perk. Another really cool bonus, if you happen to be picking up the Z Flip 5, you can actually use
05:53 your Galaxy Watch 6 as a controller for that camera while it's in flex mode, and you'll be
05:59 taking perfect selfies from a distance. The Galaxy Watch 5 is currently our favorite Android smart
06:04 watch, so we're very eager to see if this can take its place. As always, we'll be putting all
06:09 these models through their paces, so stay tuned for our full review.
