00:00 So Honda is back in the game with an all-new SUV after the BRV and the CRV after a very
00:10 long time what you see over here is the all-new Honda Elevate.
00:13 Hi guys and welcome to DriveSpark, I'm Prameet and today we are driving this car so let me
00:17 tell you everything you need to know about this all-new SUV.
00:27 So now let's start off with the front end of the car, now very first thing you notice
00:30 that this car has a really commanding position because I mean you can see the bonnet is really
00:34 high it's got a flat kind of a finish over here plus you get a lot of chrome and you
00:38 get an enormous grille as you can see the grille is completely finished in piano black
00:42 and is really really wide plus the slots for the grille that are open are from here the
00:46 rest of the grille remains actually shut but overall the grille looks really really fantastic
00:51 and you can see the sheer size of the grille plus also you get some chrome that runs along
00:55 the headlights now talking about the headlight unit you get a complete LED setup over here
00:59 you get DRLs over here that convert into a dynamic indicator you get high beam low beam
01:03 and a fog light that is completely in LED plus you see the bumper over here it's really
01:08 wide and Honda also says that they have their level 2 ADAS features which Honda calls it
01:13 the Honda Sensing for that they don't have a radar over here everything is done by the
01:17 camera that is present on top and we'll be telling you everything about that while we
01:20 are driving the car so this actually sums up the front end and you also get some silver
01:24 finish on the scuff plate.
01:26 Now coming to the side profile as you can see that the very first thing that will catch
01:29 your attention are those 17-inch alloy wheels they are machined alloy wheels dual tone but
01:34 let me tell you something that the competition has got a scale higher it's got 18 inches
01:38 but this sticks to 17 inches it overall goes with the car's size as you can see over here
01:43 plus you also get some amount of chrome on the door handles on the window trim and you
01:48 get a silver roof rail over here that is actually functional also you get a request sensor over
01:53 here but it gets a keyhole that kind of looks dated overall you get body coloured ORVM get
01:58 an integrated indicator and on the left side of the ORVM you get a camera that is for the
02:03 blind spot monitoring for the left hand side when you're changing lanes and the best part
02:07 about this is this gets around 220 mm of ground clearance which is the best in the segment.
02:15 So now coming to the last bit of the exterior that's the rear of the car and over here you
02:18 can see that the car looks really fantastic obviously it carries the joining taillights
02:23 over here but let me tell you this that let me just switch it on for you once so that
02:27 you can see for yourself so this is how the complete taillight will look it's a complete
02:34 LED unit except the reverse and indicator bulb over here they are normal halogen bulbs
02:39 but this part over here that's connecting actually on the day you will feel that this
02:43 is a connecting taillight but this is just a reflector obviously you'll get aftermarket
02:47 parts to connect the taillights but that is again an aftermarket accessory you'll get
02:51 a lot of chrome along with this car as well but the sleek taillight actually gives it
02:55 a very sporty look and you also get a spoiler on top you get a shark fin antenna you get
03:00 a wiper with a washer diffuser and over here you can see that this actually looks like
03:04 a camera but this is the wiper washer and you also get a LED stoplight plus badging
03:08 wise you get the elevate badging over here you get the Ivy Tech badging over you don't
03:12 get any variant badging as such now let's talk about the boot so to open the boot you
03:18 just have to press the request sensor boot will open up and there you have it you have
03:21 around 560 to be precise 558 litres of boot space that is the best in the segment you
03:28 have a boot light you have a lot of space and you have a spare tyre underneath as well
03:32 to close the boot you just have to do this and the boot will shut automatically thanks
03:37 to the hydraulic struts so now let's quickly go inside and check out the interiors.
03:47 So now getting on to the rear section first now this seat as you can see over here this
03:53 is adjusted according to my height for reference I'm 6'1 and for that you can see that there
03:59 is plenty of space over here so leg room knee room should not be a problem plus you also
04:04 have this floor that is slightly canted upwards so you get that footrest feel feature wise
04:09 you have AC vent does not get a obviously it has a blower control and you have a 12
04:14 volt charging socket over here you do not get a type C charging anywhere in the car
04:19 I mean they're only type A's they are in the front we'll be talking about that later and
04:23 you can see that you get this armrest in the Honda City what used to happen is that the
04:29 armrest used to touch the seat over here but now you can see that there is space and there
04:34 are two cup holders but there are only two headrests over here the third is missing obviously
04:38 they are wide headrest seat is actually pretty comfortable very good leather used all over
04:43 the car especially with this dark chocolatey color it just looks amazing and overall I
04:49 mean the sunroof is pretty small so it won't give you a good view when it's sitting at
04:54 the back but overall it's a nice place to be you got wide windows and you also get this
04:59 soft touch material that is on the door so now let's quickly go to the front and I'll
05:03 tell you more about that.
05:07 Let's quickly sit at the front seat and let me explain you what all you get over here
05:12 so as you enter the cabin you will notice that it's a really airy and a spacious cabin
05:16 especially because of this sunroof that's present over here I mean it's a single pane
05:20 sunroof we do not get a panoramic sunroof as you get in the competitions but still it's
05:24 there and a lot of soft touch materials have been used all over on the dashboard you can
05:29 see and this kind of a finish you've got hard plastic but good quality plastic just talking
05:34 about the tech over here you get a 10.25 inch infotainment system that features Apple CarPlay
05:40 Android Auto and it has a ton of features gives you a lot of information about the car
05:45 you also have an inbuilt Alexa so you can connect your phone and operate the vehicle
05:50 do whatever you want with the Alexa app through your phone and yeah so coming to the screen
05:54 the second screen that is the seven inch so it's the instrument cluster over here so the
05:59 instrument cluster is pretty like it's a mix and match of analog and digital screen so
06:03 it's a seven inch screen over here that again displays a lot of information about the car
06:09 especially Honda sensing you'll get a lot of information about that whether you use
06:14 the active steering or you use the pedestrian collision anything that you use with the Honda
06:19 sensing will be displayed on this screen that's the seven inch screen and that looks I mean
06:25 the cluster looks really amazing you have an analog dial for the speed but rest everything
06:31 is just digital and looks really fantastic you get the steering wheel that's wrapped
06:36 in leather you get a slightly flat bottom steering wheel looks nice you got the steering
06:40 model controls the left hand side controls the screen the right hand side controls the
06:45 cruise control and some of the controls for the instrument cluster plus just below the
06:49 infotainment system you get an automatic climate control it's a single zone climate control
06:53 obviously you have a screen over here that gives you the readout you have some physical
06:57 buttons for the AC and over here what you see over here so people might not find it
07:03 at the first go but the wireless charging is kept like way it's actually hidden over
07:08 there and you get two type A USB slots so that means no fast charging for your phone
07:14 but anyway and just below the charging slots you get your button to operate the wireless
07:18 charger so if you want it switched on you can switch it on from here you also get a
07:22 12-volt charging socket two cup holders this is the key for the all new Elevate let me
07:29 just quickly hang it upside down so you can have a look he's heavy good quality material
07:36 being used over here so other than that the cabin is really nice it's spacious it's comfortable
07:43 because of these seats the headrest again you can see a wide headrest plus the upholstery
07:47 is actually going very well with the combination of the black and there is some element over
07:51 here that's been kind of wood element that overall enhances the dashboard look so now
07:55 let's drive this car and I'll tell you how is the all new Honda Elevate to drive on the
08:00 road.
08:04 So now we're at the driving seat of the all new Honda Elevate and first things first let
08:10 me quickly give you an engine brief about this so this car gets only one petrol engine
08:16 option that's a 1.5 liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine that engine pumps
08:21 out around 121 PS of power and 145 Nm of peak torque so this engine comes mated to either
08:28 a six-speed manual that we are driving today or a CVT gearbox now as far as the mileage
08:33 is concerned the Honda claims that the manual car will give you around say something between
08:37 15-15.5 and the CVT will give around 16-16.5 that what Honda claims but obviously we will
08:43 get this car later on for a full road test review right now we've got it for a very short
08:47 period of time so we won't be able to tell you the mileage of the car but so let's start
08:52 off with the engine now first of all very smooth engine the 1.5 liter naturally aspirated
08:57 one so there is no more diesel options for the Hondas and if you if you want to buy it
09:03 you just have one single petrol engine option that's as I mentioned the 1.5 liter naturally
09:08 aspirated one so the engine is basically 121 PS and the power actually feels pretty linear
09:14 throughout the rev range like right now I'm doing second I'm doing a speed of say around
09:19 30 kilometers an hour if I floor it so if I floor it you can see because it's an NA
09:24 motor so there is slight peppiness part of this but since it's not a turbocharged one
09:31 so that peppiness only remains to some part other than that the engine actually is very
09:37 refined it's very smooth so as Honda claims that they have actually increased the NVH level
09:41 they have made the NVH level really nice so we can feel it right now but obviously at
09:44 higher RPMs what happens is that the engine noise slightly starts entering the cabin.
09:48 Talking about the gear shifts, gear shifts are really really smooth the throws of the
09:52 gear are they are short and they are really smooth there is one thing that we noticed
09:57 about the gear lever is that this is a six-speed so obviously the reverse is after the six
10:02 when you put it behind so while you're driving obviously there is a lock inside that will
10:07 not allow you to engage the gear so right now I'm driving at a speed of maybe 20 plus
10:12 that happens so if I'm driving and I suddenly want to put reverse I cannot put reverse see
10:17 I'm putting reverse but it is not going it's connecting to the sixth gear now if I want
10:21 to put reverse gear obviously either I'll have to slow down or I'll have to stop the
10:24 car and we are now climbing a slope I mean it's a hilly area as you can see by the surroundings
10:32 so yeah I mean the peppiness is there but obviously at higher RPM it dies off and you
10:40 have to shift to a lower gear I think with the CVT gearbox we'll be driving that later
10:45 on sometime the CVT gearbox you do not have to struggle too much on slopes and maybe at
10:51 an incline but with this obviously you definitely if you have a high incline then you will have
10:57 to put it at a lower gear to climb that other than that suspension setup is fabulous actually
11:03 suspension is really nice it's soft it's cushiony it absorbs all the pumps all the potholes
11:09 and obviously it is not meant for cornering it is not meant for handling it is for you
11:15 to get the maximum comfort out of this car so yeah it is tuned according to that and
11:21 other than that if you couple that with the steering wheel the steering wheel is actually
11:24 nice to hold it's got a really fantastic grip if you pair the steering wheel with the suspension
11:29 this car has a beautiful handling as well I mean it has body roll as you can see over
11:34 here since it's an SUV it has 220 mm of ground clearance and because of the ground clearance
11:38 obviously the car is a little tall so because of that obviously the with the soft suspension
11:43 and all that you have some on the body roll but the inside of the cabin feels really comfortable
11:48 really it's a driver friendly car and so yeah the engine we have not got a chance to max
11:57 it out but Honda has said that the engine has a lock a speed lock at around 160 please
12:02 don't try doing 160 on public roads is really unsafe and yeah so now let's talk about the
12:08 safety features so the number one safety feature that this car has is the Honda sensing obviously
12:13 you have a camera that will print over here it does not get the radar so this is actually
12:18 Honda's level 2 ADAS so what it does is obviously it has lane keep assist it has adaptive cruise
12:25 control it has active steering wheel it has active braking obviously and plus that rear
12:31 view mirror that you see on the left hand side it has a camera so whenever you're searching
12:34 the indicator obviously you get a picture on the screen if just in case you are not
12:39 being able to see completely from that mirror so this screen will help you see that because
12:43 it's a wide angle view and yeah overall guys beautiful experience with this car I mean
12:49 I'm really waiting to drive this car within the city for some time for a longer duration
12:55 time so that we'll be able to tell you about everything that this car has to offer especially
13:01 the mileage as people are concerned so right now again we are climbing a slope and we are
13:05 on third gear doing around 25 and I think this took it very easily you don't have to
13:10 floor it much to take it on I mean you don't have to floor it much to take the climb but
13:16 yeah I mean the clutch is light the throws are really short and smooth all of this I
13:22 think it will be a fantastic car within the city and on the highway it'll it just I mean
13:28 it feels like it has amazing cruising capabilities so with that I mean with all the features
13:34 if you have a budget of say between I don't know between maybe 10 to 16 maybe 70 lakh
13:40 rupees you should go definitely check out the all new Elevate this has everything covered
13:44 safety features colour options I mean what not is there so yeah you should go check out
13:51 the all new Elevate.
13:52 So yeah guys this was the all new Honda Elevate and this car comes in seven colour options
14:00 out of which three are dual tone well if you ask us we are expecting that Honda will launch
14:04 this car between a price range somewhere between 10 to 17 lakh rupees considering the competition
14:09 but other than that if you need to know anything about this car please then let us know in
14:13 the comment section and we will get back to you on that other than I'm Prameet signing
14:16 out see you next time thanks so much for watching take care be safe and drive safe.
