00:00 see we're surrounded by cabins and production. We've got a really good team in place who
00:04 look after the front of house, run the bars, security and everything. So I think there's
00:09 about 30 people in the core team that are here and then there's a big extended team
00:13 that actually work at the events themselves. Bristol Harbourside is a beautiful place,
00:18 it's a beautiful city so we're very lucky to be able to do it here.
00:22 One thing Bristol is known for is its live music. This summer there are a series of summer
00:27 events around the city featuring live music from Bristol Sounds to the Forwards Festival.
00:33 But what is going on at the Lloyds Amphitheatre at the moment? Or should I say, what is behind
00:39 the door? Well, let's go and find out.
00:45 Lloyds Amphitheatre is hosting Bristol's Siren Festival featuring headliner Sean Paul along
00:51 with their Saturday Festival. Let's chat to the festival CEO to find out more.
00:57 It's Siren Bristol down at Bristol Amphitheatre. Last night we had Fabian Grooverider and the
01:04 Outlook Orchestra, David Roddigan and Ronnie Sighson, Dynamite and Gardner. It went amazingly,
01:10 I'm really pleased with it. We were very lucky with the weather and we had a great crowd.
01:15 Tonight we've got Sean Paul, which is going to be very exciting, it's sold out. And tomorrow
01:21 we've got Hospitality on the Harbour which is an all day drum and bass event with Wilkinson,
01:26 AMC, DJ Marquee, lots of hospital regulars. And I've just been told we've got about 100
01:33 tickets left for that, so that's exciting as well.
01:36 The festival debuted at Bristol's Amphitheatre last year and saw some of the biggest names
01:42 in dance, rap, hip hop and D&B perform. Mercury Prize winner and Bristol's own Ronnie Sighs
01:48 will be playing alongside Gloucester rapper Dynamite MC who are joining the headliners
01:54 Fabio and Grooverider and the Outlook Orchestra.
01:59 Aside from the music, we've got two stages of music. Stage one we've already mentioned,
02:03 stage two tonight is hosted by Peachin, who are a local group doing R&B, bashment, dancehall
02:13 type stuff. And tomorrow is hosted by Invicta, who are another local drum and bass label.
02:18 And then we've got a load of great food traders. We've got bars stocking everything from Fear
02:25 St Noble, Bristol Beer Factory, lots of local brews, cocktail bar. So yeah, it's a whole
02:32 rounded experience hopefully.
02:34 For a number of reasons really. I mean, last night I was very aware of how eclectic the
02:38 audience was and everybody just seemed to be having a lovely time. There were lots of
02:41 people from all over Bristol and from further afield. And it just seems like music brings
02:46 people together in a really nice way. You know, when times are tough, people need a
02:53 release, right? And coming down to a beautiful location, listening to some great music with
02:58 a bunch of strangers or with a bunch of friends is a nice way to let your hair down. So I
03:03 think that's really the importance of it.
