Sheffield Cat Shelter at almost double capacity.

00:00 I'm Mick Holland from the Sheffield Cats Shelter.
00:02 I'm here with Fruity and Tot,
00:05 two of our lovely kittens.
00:07 And we are absolutely chock-a-block full with cats,
00:11 but especially kittens at the moment.
00:14 Just today we had a cat and two kittens abandoned.
00:20 I was looking out of the window,
00:22 I saw a woman walking past.
00:24 She put her back down and then literally sprinted away.
00:28 I saw her back moving, so we went to have a look
00:30 and inside were a woman and two kittens.
00:34 So obviously we had to take them in,
00:35 but we are absolutely chock-a-block full at the moment.
00:40 And we get so many cats abandoned.
00:43 You know, there are lots of reasons.
00:44 It could well be the cost of a living crisis.
00:47 But whatever the reason is,
00:48 we're in a desperate situation
00:50 where we need people to adopt cats from us,
00:54 adopt beautiful kittens like these,
00:56 or foster from us, which is even more useful
00:59 because foster is free of groom in our cat shelter.
01:02 We've been going 126 years now
01:05 and helping lots of beautiful cats,
01:07 lots of beautiful kittens.
01:09 But we've never been in demand as much as this really.
01:13 So we really are at breaking point now.
01:16 We need the people of Sheffield to help us.
01:20 So I'd say to anyone thinking of adopting a cat
01:23 or thinking of fostering,
01:25 you know, get in touch with us,
01:26 look at our website,
01:28 and help Captain Kittens today and help our shelter.
