White House says Hunter Biden tax case was a personal matter

00:04 - Hunter Biden is a private citizen

00:07 and this was a personal matter for him.

00:10 As we have said, the president, the first lady,

00:13 they love their son and they support him

00:15 as he continues to rebuild his life.

00:18 This case was handled independently, as all of you know,

00:21 by the Justice Department under the leadership

00:24 of a prosecutor appointed by the former president,

00:27 President Trump.

00:28 So for anything further, as you know,

00:30 and we've been very consistent from here,

00:33 I'd refer you to the Department of Justice

00:35 and to Hunter's representatives,

00:37 who is his legal team, obviously,

00:39 who can address any of your questions.

00:41 - Okay, so that briefing is ongoing.

00:43 She's likely to get press further

00:45 and take more questions from the media

00:47 on what is happening there at that federal courthouse.
