00:00 >> Hey Bryce, you seem to handle everything kind of even kennel,
00:04 motions and everything, but this is your first training camp.
00:09 The intimidation factor for you, how do you feel going into this,
00:12 the whole world watching?
00:14 >> Yeah, well, first off, thank you guys for coming out.
00:17 Good morning, everyone.
00:19 I know it's humid out here, so appreciate y'all for coming out.
00:23 I wouldn't say it's an intimidating thing, being at camp.
00:27 I think that's really because of the coaches and the guys that are around here.
00:30 Being able to be around them for OTAs and
00:33 rookie mini camp and all this stuff leading up to that.
00:36 I don't feel like it's intimidating, I feel like it's just a chance,
00:39 an opportunity for us to grow as a team, me to grow individually.
00:42 And that's all that you can ask for.
00:44 So I'm just excited for the growth, the hard time.
00:47 And definitely it's gonna get tough and it's gonna be difficult, but
00:49 I feel like that's where we grow as a team.
00:52 So I'm excited for that process.
00:54 >> Sorry, Bryce, even down here, since Saturday,
00:56 tell me kind of about what the acclimation period's been like for you.
00:59 You mentioned the humidity, just sort of things like that for you.
01:02 >> Yeah, no, it's been good, kind of getting the rookies a head start on some
01:07 of the installs and the walk-ins, which has been kind of a refresher,
01:11 which is really good.
01:13 But it's been good just trying to get my bearings down here,
01:16 the new environment here at Wofford.
01:19 The weather stuff is pretty similar to Alabama, so
01:23 that's kind of been what I've been used to these last couple years.
01:28 But it's been good, it's been good to get out here a couple days early so
01:32 that after the reviews we can be prepared for the rest of the year.
01:36 >> How does the Wofford experience compare to Alabama,
01:39 if you can even put it in a single?
01:41 >> I can't really compare experiences just because I'm just here in the dorm and
01:46 then we go to the practice facilities and
01:49 stuff outside the whole all-encompassing experience at Alabama.
01:54 Being here has been great, everyone that I have run into on staff has been super
01:59 nice, really accommodating.
02:01 As a whole, as an organization, we're super grateful to be able to be here and
02:06 to let Wofford, to let us use their facilities, so it's been good.
02:09 >> Bryce, a lot's been made about winning the game of your mind,
02:12 obviously, you've been a great quarterback since Lincoln's done it.
02:14 Film studies are a big part of that.
02:15 When you grew into the game as a high schooler, college athlete,
02:18 what were some of the coaches other than maybe Nick that helped you grow in that
02:22 department, not only to study film, but what to study when you look at it?
02:26 >> Yeah, that's a really good observation,
02:29 cuz that's definitely something that I believe is just in the importance of
02:33 preparation and film studying.
02:35 Honestly, it's been a big, it's kind of been, for me,
02:39 it's been a steady growth throughout from high school to college to this level.
02:44 And seeing kind of every single level there's a step up.
02:48 When I was high school, and even before that, honestly,
02:52 my office coordinator in high school, Dave Bunyan, he was someone who actually
02:55 helped me a lot with that and really kind of put into my ear what film study was
03:00 supposed to look like and the little things to look at outside of just watching
03:04 highlights when you're in middle school.
03:06 And then of course, Coach David, OB, Coach Stark, and
03:11 a lot of guys when I went to college that just showed me that next level,
03:16 the little intricacies that you can look for.
03:19 And then here, we haven't done necessarily any preparation yet, but
03:23 even just the little traditions going on on days where we've had kind of some
03:27 marketing-like days, the situation, and talking about some more general things.
03:34 I still even now see that next level that I'm excited to get to.
03:37 So really it's been a gradual progression, and I'm excited to grow.
03:41 >> Bryce, this is an organization.
03:44 Were you the one to organize that, or how was it to get all those guys together,
03:48 and how prepared does that make you guys heading into training camp,
03:51 giving you a head start?
03:53 >> Yeah, I mean, it's easy when you have a great group of guys like that.
03:56 We all together came to an agreement, we worked together, and
04:01 for the guys, us all to show up.
04:04 And just wanna give us another opportunity to get together and
04:08 to work as a unit offensively so that we can have a smoother transition when we
04:13 get here, and I think it was just one more step for us to try to grow and
04:18 to get better, and that's what we're all about.
04:20 So it was kind of just something again to come back together,
04:25 to prepare, to get to here, and now that we are here,
04:27 it's great for us to be back together.
04:29 >> Did you organize that?
04:30 >> It was all of us together.
04:33 >> Bryce, were you guys under one roof for that, and was there cooking involved,
04:37 did you get catered, and just what was it like away from the field too?
04:42 >> Yeah, I mean, obviously, we're on each other away from the field.
04:45 Some people, there are some people that had been there and are from there, and
04:50 then people that didn't.
04:52 So of course, we're teammates and we're brothers, so of course,
04:56 we're doing stuff, there's time spent away from that too.
05:00 But that was really just something that was for us.
05:04 So all this stuff that we're doing that went on, it was just for
05:09 us to come together and to be more prepared throughout here.
05:12 So that was really what it was about.
05:14 >> Hey Bryce, this is an organization that hasn't been in the playhouse in five
05:18 years, and people are kind of getting excited with you being around, and
05:22 Dave Tepper certainly put the bar pretty high.
05:25 What are your expectations for this?
05:27 >> Yeah, for me and for us as a team, I think we're just big on taking things
05:32 day by day, being process-oriented, and making sure that everyone plays to win,
05:39 everyone wants to be successful.
05:40 But it's not just doing that, but how do you do that?
05:43 And for us, it's focusing on today being our first day, and
05:47 then tomorrow, focusing on how we can get better in the meeting,
05:51 get better in the practice field.
05:54 So I don't think the expectations really for me or for everyone are just to push
05:59 each other and to make sure we can get the best that we can out of each other every
06:02 single day.
06:02 And then if we keep stacking those days, then I think that's all we can do.
06:07 >> Speaking of getting better- >> Are you looking at your job to lose
06:09 right now?
06:10 >> Sorry. >> Are you looking at your job to lose
06:12 right now since you've started working with the ones at the end of the OTAs?
06:16 >> Honestly, where I'm at, where I'm working with, who plays for where,
06:22 that stuff is out of my control.
06:24 That stuff's coach Reich and the rest of the coaching staff.
06:26 So for me, I just look at it as every rep I get, no matter who it's with and
06:31 where, I'm grateful for that.
06:34 That's an opportunity for me to grow.
06:35 Every rep, especially being a new lead, being in the NFL,
06:39 it's a challenge every single rep.
06:40 So regardless of where I'm around and who I'm going up against,
06:44 I just look at that as an opportunity for me to grow.
06:46 >> Bryce, you and Andy seem to have that shared understanding of that mindset.
06:52 What's that relationship been like?
06:53 You guys obviously spent time together in Texas.
06:56 How has that relationship grown and
06:58 how has that relationship kind of helped you over the last couple of months?
07:01 >> 100%.
07:03 I'm super grateful for that.
07:04 Andy here has been amazing for me.
07:07 Obviously, has so much success in the league and knows everything.
07:12 For me, it's just trying to learn as much as I can from him.
07:15 He just asks the questions every day.
07:17 I'm always trying to pick his brain, see how he does things.
07:20 And him taking the time to do what he does and
07:26 answer every single question we go out every day is, hey, I saw this.
07:29 I've had this experience where you might wanna get to here.
07:32 You might think, and him going out of his way to help me and mentor me,
07:36 that's something that I'm extremely grateful for.
07:38 It's helped me tremendously.
07:40 Every single day, I'm asking him questions.
07:42 He doesn't have to.
07:45 You've seen guys that you can always have different mindsets.
07:50 For him to have the mindset of, he's helped me.
07:53 We really had a, it's been a great quarterbacking with us,
07:56 everyone helping each other out, trying to push each other and help each other grow.
07:59 And not all quarterbacks are like that.
08:02 I'm really grateful for him and the whole room that that's a dynamic that we have.
08:05 >> This is Josh's first NFL coaching gig coming from high school.
08:10 He worked a lot with Taylor Pelley.
08:12 He obviously coaches high school.
08:14 Does that dynamic kind of make it easier to have communication because he's used to
08:18 working with younger players?
08:21 >> I'm not sure.
08:23 I think that probably just, I think just being able to talk with,
08:28 like you said, coach at the high school level and
08:32 then at a level now, I feel like that probably helps.
08:37 [INAUDIBLE] But for me being able to have
08:42 a great position for so many years,
08:46 knows it and gets it, sees it from a coaching standpoint,
08:52 but also gets it from a quarterback standpoint.
