00:03 - US Integrity doing education
00:04 to very big conferences in college sports.
00:07 Another college football season is coming.
00:09 It does feel good, Mike,
00:11 that they're getting ahead of this
00:12 in the Big 12 and the Southeastern Conference.
00:14 Clearly the SEC in particular,
00:17 the biggest moneymaker in college sports.
00:19 - Right, so Matt Holt,
00:21 the founder of US Integrity, the CEO,
00:24 told me about a week ago that starting,
00:26 I believe July 15th through September 1st,
00:28 they're gonna be on the road going to various
00:30 Big 12 and SEC campuses, having in-person, on-site,
00:35 excuse me, educational programs,
00:39 which last about an hour with these student athletes.
00:41 Telling them, what is insider information?
00:44 You and I both have done the insider game, right?
00:46 What kind of information should you not be telling people,
00:50 either it's your parents or your cousins or whoever,
00:53 that would, that various information could give somebody
00:54 an advantage in terms of betting.
00:56 And then they've talked, you know,
00:57 he talked about match fixing, right?
00:59 It's not necessarily point shaving anymore.
01:01 It's really more, could be the first point
01:02 of a tennis match, could be the, for, you know,
01:04 who turns the ball over first in a NCAA college football
01:08 game, so you don't, you know,
01:09 you don't necessarily need 11 bad actors.
01:11 You just need one or two.
01:13 That's something he talked about with those athletes.
01:14 So again, Craig, you know,
01:15 there's 17 active investigations in terms of sports betting
01:18 when it comes to the NCA.
01:19 Charlie Baker sent a message to Rep Titus about this
01:24 in terms of what the NCA is facing.
01:26 We know about the Alabama baseball scandal.
01:28 We have, you know, the Cincinnati father with the,
01:31 with the, excuse me, the Indiana father with that,
01:35 you know, Brad Bohannon, like the coach Alabama,
01:37 given that inside info, they caught him on camera.
01:39 He was very obvious about it,
01:41 that he wanted to bet a hundred thousand dollars
01:42 on that Alabama LSU baseball game at the,
01:44 bet MGM sports book,
01:45 a great American ballpark in Cincinnati.
01:47 He got hit, you know, US integrity was, was vital in that.
01:50 So, you know, these, there's NCA's facing all the,
01:52 these scandals.
01:53 We don't know what's going to happen in Iowa.
01:55 The, the DCI has told me, you know, there's,
01:57 there's no finality in that case.
01:58 It's still ongoing,
01:59 that investigation into those student athletes at Iowa
02:01 and Iowa state in terms of potential sports betting
02:03 violations.
02:04 So yeah, you know, the NCA is dealing with a lot.
02:06 These education programs are super important.
02:08 You have, you know,
02:09 athletes asking very valid questions about, you know,
02:12 what's legal, right?
02:13 Is this just an NCA violation
02:14 or could I potentially go to jail for this?
02:16 You know, in different jurisdictions, you know, you,
02:18 if you can, that's on your own sport,
02:20 but on your own team, you know,
02:22 you could potentially looking at criminal prosecution.
02:24 I believe Colorado is one of those states.
02:26 So, you know, it's good for those athletes, you know,
02:28 student athletes, right?
02:29 This is a new era kids that are coming up that are 18 to 21,
02:33 22 need to know, right?
02:35 If you're a practice, right?
02:36 With that Iowa thing, don't go on, you know,
02:38 don't log into Fandula DraftKings
02:40 because the regulators are going to wonder why on a
02:42 Wednesday afternoon with no game or anything, you know,
02:45 are those athletes logging on, right?
02:46 We talked about prohibited better lists that,
02:49 that could potentially be something in the NFL,
02:50 potentially in the NCAA where the regulator is able to pick
02:53 it up in real time, who's on these things.
02:54 And, you know, are they on their friend's account?
02:56 Are they 21 years old?
02:57 Are they of legal age?
02:58 These are all the questions that are being asked in Iowa.
03:00 As these teams have been cleared one by one,
03:02 there hasn't been any criminal proceedings in that case.
03:05 And hopefully no nefarious activity in terms of, you know,
03:08 match fixing or anything like that.
03:10 But, you know, this is an issue that is very pervasive.
03:14 It's a new era.
03:15 And so, yeah, good on us integrity.
03:16 And, you know, the big 12, Brett Uremark,
03:18 their commissioners talked about the need to have these
03:21 programs, make athletes aware and make sure you don't have
03:23 what's going on in the NFL, you know,
03:25 and you don't have what's going on in Iowa and Alabama where
03:27 coaches and athletes are under investigation or getting fired,
03:30 losing their jobs.
03:31 I mean, again, for the integrity of the sport and, and,
03:34 and for, you know,
03:35 these sports books themselves that have money on the line,
03:37 you know, this stuff cannot happen.
03:38 And so it's good that U.S. integrity is going to these SEC
03:41 and big 12 schools and giving these athletes some in-person
03:44 education, correct?
