00:02 What's up guys, welcome back to my channel.
00:20 Today I'm going to be filming a video
00:22 on how I keep my hair nice and strong
00:25 and how I grew it to be so long.
00:27 So basically just general like my hair care routine,
00:30 if you will.
00:31 So also comment down below if you guys like
00:35 when the light behind me is on or off.
00:37 I feel like it's kind of like easier to see when it's off,
00:39 but I could be totally wrong.
00:40 So just let me know.
00:41 So just a little background on my hair.
00:42 I've always had very thick hair.
00:46 It's always, and it's not naturally like this straight.
00:49 I do straighten it.
00:50 It's usually like a little wavy
00:52 and the underside can get pretty frizzy.
00:54 So I haven't gotten it cut since like January
00:57 'cause I like never get my hair cut
00:58 because I just like to keep it long
01:00 and very simple with how I style it.
01:01 I've also never colored my hair.
01:04 This is my natural hair color.
01:05 So I don't have any damage in that way.
01:07 So first thing, the shampoo and conditioner I use
01:10 are the OGX brand.
01:13 And so you can just find them literally anywhere.
01:15 I know this is super simple,
01:16 but I've tried many other hair products
01:18 and this just really does a good job
01:19 at getting rid of the frizz.
01:21 So these are the specific ones I have,
01:23 like the keratin oil one and the coconut water.
01:26 This is my shampoo, this is conditioner,
01:27 but I kind of just get whichever one is at the store
01:30 that I really feel like that time.
01:31 I feel like they're all pretty good quality
01:33 and it doesn't really matter for,
01:35 like it doesn't really feel much different
01:37 if I get the keratin smooth one
01:40 or the coconut milk or whatever.
01:43 So I just kind of get whatever's at the store.
01:45 Just use this as you would.
01:47 And about once every two weeks or once a month,
01:51 once every two weeks, I'm really ambitious,
01:53 I like to use a hair mask.
01:55 So this is the OGX brand again.
01:57 This is argan oil of Morocco.
02:00 This is just a hair mask.
02:01 And I like to put this on in the shower
02:04 and kind of brush through it.
02:05 And then I'll like step out of the shower for a while,
02:08 like 30 or so minutes, and then I'll go rinse it off again.
02:11 And I feel like it really just seals in on my split ends
02:14 and helps it.
02:14 And then it's like for the rest of the week,
02:16 it's like extra shiny and smooth.
02:17 So I would also recommend doing this.
02:19 Another one of my major tips,
02:21 I feel like people know already though,
02:23 is to use a wide tooth comb.
02:25 Your hair is much more delicate when it's wet
02:27 'cause it's soaked up all that water
02:29 and it just breaks a lot more easily.
02:31 So when you use a wide tooth comb,
02:32 there are less opportunities for your hair to break.
02:36 And it's just much more healthy
02:38 for like when you get out of the shower.
02:40 So you don't just like break all the hair
02:41 that's like weakened at the moment.
02:43 Also something I use after the shower
02:45 that I found really has made a huge difference.
02:48 I actually got this in an Ipsy
02:49 and I purchased the full size package.
02:51 But this is the Marc Anthony Nourishing Argan Oil
02:54 of Morocco Three Day Smooth.
02:56 So it's like a keratin smoothing product.
03:01 Would totally recommend this.
03:02 I put, I just use like a full pump in my hair
03:05 after I shower when my hair is damp.
03:07 And then I blow dry my hair.
03:09 And like I've gotten so many compliments
03:10 since I've started using this.
03:11 Like my hair is so much smoother.
03:13 My hair didn't always look this smooth.
03:15 It was usually a little frizzier.
03:17 But when I use this, it is literally so smooth.
03:19 Guys, like I almost don't even need to straighten it after
03:21 'cause it's already so like smooth and like silky.
03:24 So that is an incredible product.
03:26 Shout out to Ipsy for introducing it to me
03:28 because I really love it.
03:30 Another tip I use is to use non-damaging hair ties.
03:34 When I go to the gym, I do use regular hair ties
03:36 'cause I really need my hair to get out of my face
03:38 and these won't cut it.
03:39 But I always keep one of these little guys around my wrist
03:42 to put my hair up when I need it to be out of my face.
03:45 But these are just super, like super cheap little hair ties.
03:49 I'm sure you've seen these.
03:51 They have little ties.
03:52 It's just a very soft material.
03:54 So they don't put a kink in your hair
03:55 and they also don't pull out as much hair
03:58 or catch on your hair or like just damage it as much.
04:01 So they're just really soft hold, non-damaging hair ties.
04:04 I would definitely recommend keeping a few of these around.
04:07 I just keep them on my wrist like all the time.
04:10 And you can also get like cuter ones.
04:12 Like I've seen ones with like little unicorns
04:14 if that's your thing.
04:14 Like you kind of wear it as a bracelet.
04:16 So it kind of doubles as that.
04:17 But I definitely would recommend that
04:19 if you tend to put your hair up a lot like me.
04:21 Like if you're a student,
04:22 you need to get out of your face while you're writing.
04:24 I would definitely recommend these.
04:25 And my last tip is super nerdy,
04:27 but I think this is my best tip for not damaging your hair
04:31 is to sleep in scrunchies.
04:35 So when you're sleeping,
04:36 especially if you have like a regular cotton pillowcase,
04:39 your hair is just like rubbing against it all night
04:41 and that can cause like cause breakage and split ends.
04:44 And it's not so great for your hair.
04:46 Also, your hair gets a lot more tangled during the night,
04:48 which I'm sure you've all noticed.
04:50 And then you have to like really struggle
04:51 to brush in the morning, which causes more breakage.
04:54 But when you use these scrunchies,
04:56 your hair kind of stays in one place,
04:57 which is also kind of nice
04:58 because I hate when my hair's all over my neck.
05:00 But I just put two of these in my hair, super nerdy.
05:03 But I would definitely recommend getting these
05:05 and make sure to get scrunchies, not hair ties,
05:07 because the scrunchies are a lot more gentle.
05:10 They're like larger and they don't leave kinks in your hair.
05:13 And they're just like a lot more comfortable to sleep on.
05:16 So I just do that at the nape of my neck.
05:18 And just kind of throw my ponytail to the side
05:20 while I'm sleeping.
05:21 I just wake up and I honestly like
05:22 don't even have to brush my hair.
05:23 It's not tangled, it's not damaged.
05:25 I've been doing this for years.
05:26 Me and my mom started doing it
05:27 when I was like in middle school.
05:29 'Cause she learned about this tip.
05:30 So shout out to mom for telling me about this.
05:32 But yeah, I hope you guys enjoyed this video.
05:34 It was pretty requested.
05:35 I got a lot of compliments about my hair on this channel,
05:37 which is so nice.
05:38 I just take a lot of pride in my hair.
05:40 So thank you everyone who commented that.
05:42 So yeah, hope you guys enjoyed.
05:45 Let me know if you have any more questions
05:47 about what I do to my hair.
05:49 What like, you know, blow dryer or straightener I use.
05:51 I'm happy to answer those questions.
05:53 And yeah, so please make sure to like and subscribe
05:57 if you are not already subscribed.
05:58 And I'll see you guys next time, bye.
