00:00 We are in the first phase of these General States of Mobility, where there were more
00:07 than 8,560 citizens who spoke out.
00:13 And it is until July 23, this Sunday, where they can make their contribution.
00:20 From there, there will be a second phase.
00:23 The National Commission will make a report, or rather commit a report, to summarize
00:32 everything that has been proposed by the citizens.
00:36 Then, there will be a roadmap, there will be this citizen assembly, where people,
00:43 the population, will be able to speak out on the modes of transport that they want to put in place,
00:48 that we will want to put in place.
00:50 I think this is the first time that there has been such a consultation, such a mobilization,
00:58 and that there will be such a citizen participation.
01:01 This is what we want.
01:03 People will tell us what they want for their land in the Reunion, which is so crowded,
01:08 so congested by car traffic.
01:11 And so, it is from there that there will be a roadmap.
01:15 And the third phase, this roadmap, it must be absolutely unquestionable,
01:20 since citizens will have participated, citizens will bring their stone to this building,
01:25 if we can say, it will not be there, but it is an important building.
01:30 It will concern the infrastructures that we would like to put in place, put in place,
01:35 so that we can circulate more and better, so that it is faster too,
01:41 because today we have a road network that is really congested.
01:45 It has been a while since there has been an emergency, when we have 400,000 cars on our roads,
01:50 well, there is an absolute emergency, because we are modifying this road,
01:56 this bad road that today takes place of traffic, of modes of traffic.
02:04 It is necessary, it is absolutely necessary that we do it.
02:07 And we are also right to enter the 100 billion that the State wants to dedicate to the rail network.
02:14 And that, you can count on us, the region, we are already studying what we can do.
02:20 And I think, well, I hope, it is the National Commission of the Public Debate
02:26 that will tell us what the Reunion people think of the rail network.
02:30 We want transport, that is, fast transport.
02:33 And fast transport has always told us that it was a monumental mistake
02:37 to have abandoned the tram, to have abandoned the small train in the middle of the last century.
02:43 And so it is the safest, fastest means,
02:46 which circulates more and better at times also much more interesting than buses.
