Cette 10e étape du Tour de France était totalement folle ! En effet, sur un parcours vallonné entre Vulcania et Issoire, les 167 kilomètres de course ont été très animés. Mais c'est finalement le scénario attendu qui s'est déroulé, avec la victoire qui s'est jouée dans l'échappée. Et c'est Pello Bilbao qui s'est imposé. Même s'il n'était pas le plus fort des 14 fuyards, puisqu'il s'est fait décrocher par Krists Neilands (Israel-Premier Tech) dans la dernière ascension du jour, l'Espagnol de la Bahrain-Victorious, en compagnie de quelques autres coureurs, a réussi à revenir sur le Letton et à régler tout ce petit monde au sprint. Il devance Georg Zimmermann (Intermarché-Circus-Wanty) et Ben O'Connor (AG2R Citroën) sur la ligne. Au niveau du classement général, Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) conserve son maillot jaune de leader. Seul changement notable : Pello Bilbao, qui a remporté sa première victoire sur le Tour, remonte à la57e place grâce à son échappée victorieuse.
