The Philippines will experience its longest day and shortest night on Wednesday, June 21, in an astronomical event known as the “summer solstice.”

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said that during the summer solstice, “the sun will reach its most northerly point in the sky, in Taurus, at a declination of 23.5°N.” (Video Courtesy of DOST-PAGASA)
