00:00 Welcome to the Girl Gourmet Cake Bakery instructional video.
00:05 This is the Cake Bakery set.
00:07 It comes with one cake bakery base, one gel decorator,
00:10 two gel cartridges and cartridge plugs, one gel icing,
00:14 one microwave baker and lid, one utensils holder,
00:19 one mixing bowl, one decorating wheel, one cake mold,
00:24 four fondant mixes, one pack of sprinkles, one cartridge cleaning brush,
00:31 four recipe cards, two cake mixes, four fondant cutters,
00:36 one working mat, one rolling pin, one measuring spoon,
00:40 and one spatula and cutting tool.
00:43 To make your own Girl Gourmet Cake,
00:45 first pour the contents of a new cake mix packet into the mixing bowl.
00:49 Using the large end of the spoon, add one spoonful of water to the mix.
00:53 Then, stir thoroughly with the narrow end of the spatula
00:57 until the mix is smooth and can be stretched.
00:59 If the mix is too dry, add a spoonful of water using the small end of the spoon.
01:04 Next, spray the cake mold thoroughly with cooking spray.
01:09 Then, pour a portion of the mixed cake batter into the large cake mold
01:13 until it reaches the fill level line.
01:15 Continue by pouring the remaining cake batter into the small cake mold.
01:19 Make sure the mix is level after it is poured into the molds.
01:23 Next, insert the cake mold into the microwave baker.
01:27 Place the lid on the microwave baker and microwave on high power for 30 seconds.
01:33 Using potholders, remove the microwave baker from the microwave
01:41 and place it on the countertop to cool for at least one minute
01:45 or until it's cool to the touch.
01:47 Once cooled, open the lid to check if the cake is cooked.
01:51 If there are any shiny, wet-looking spots on the cake,
01:54 reseal the microwave baker and put it back in the microwave for 10 more seconds.
01:59 When the cake is finished baking, remove the mold from the microwave baker
02:03 and turn the mold upside down on a covered countertop to remove the cake.
02:08 To cover your freshly baked cake with fondant,
02:11 choose any colored fondant packet and pour one packet into the bowl.
02:15 Then add one spoonful of water with the small end of the spoon.
02:19 Stir thoroughly with the narrow end of the spatula until the mix has a doughy texture.
02:24 It's very important not to add too much water or the fondant will be too sticky.
02:29 If your fondant has too much water, you can either add more fondant mix or add confectionary sugar.
02:35 It also helps to play with the fondant in your hands before rolling it out.
02:39 Once you have the right consistency, place the fondant onto the rolling mat.
02:44 Then use the rolling pin to evenly spread the fondant out until about 1/8 inch thick.
02:50 Next, place the 1/8 inch thick fondant over the large cake
02:55 and mold the fondant around the cake using your hands.
02:58 Use the cutting tool to trim off any excess fondant and place the excess fondant onto the working mat.
03:05 Now repeat these steps for the smaller cake.
03:11 Then place the cake with the finished fondant to the side.
03:15 To decorate your fondant covered cakes with fondant shapes,
03:19 pick a different color fondant and repeat steps to mix and roll your fondant to correct consistency and thickness.
03:26 Use the fondant cutter to cut out shapes from the second half fondant and apply the shapes to both cakes.
03:33 You can refer to the video for the instructions on how to cut out shapes.
03:38 You can refer to the recipe cards for more decorating examples.
03:43 To decorate your freshly baked cake with gel icing, start by opening one of the gel tubes.
03:49 Next, squeeze the gel into the gel cartridge and fill it to the fill level line.
03:54 Then replace the tube cap after use.
03:56 Continue by inserting the cartridge plug into the open end of the gel cartridge
04:02 and push down until it is leveled with the end of the gel cartridge.
04:07 Then insert the gel cartridge into the gel decorator and press the lever down to secure the gel cartridge.
04:14 Place the cake decorating wheel onto its base,
04:17 then move the power switch at the base to the low or high speed position depending on your preference.
04:22 Rotate the decorating wheel to turn the cake while applying the gel icing.
04:27 When finished, move the power switch to the off position.
04:35 Finish decorating the cake with rainbow sprinkles
04:38 and cover the cake with the cake cover when finished.
