A group of women and children living in a camp in Syria wants the federal government to bring them home

A group of Australian women and children held in a Syrian detention camp have launched legal action, in a bid to force the federal government to bring them home. Lawyers for the group concede many had prior links to the Islamic State Group, but say they are living in horrific conditions and have the right to be returned to Australia.
