00:00 Hey everybody, it's Kate and so today I'm going to show you, this is my first makeup
00:07 tutorial.
00:08 Yay!
00:09 You can't really see because the lighting's a little shitty right now, but that's okay.
00:14 So today the video is an Avril Lavigne inspired hair and makeup tutorial.
00:22 So you can see it's very black, basically.
00:27 So obviously Avril Lavigne's makeup is quite dramatic around the eyes and probably not
00:36 exactly an everyday look for most people.
00:40 I personally wear makeup like this almost everyday, but most people it's probably not
00:45 an everyday look.
00:46 And that's okay, but I thought you might want to know how to do an Avril Lavigne inspired
00:51 look.
00:54 So I really hope you guys like this video and yeah, enjoy!
01:02 Okay guys, so for starters I just did my usual foundation concealer routine, which if you
01:08 would like to see a video on what that is, just comment below and I'll try and get one
01:14 up.
01:15 So I just went straight into the eyes, so I used a BYS eyeshadow palette, I think it's
01:22 called the metallic palette, and I just used the silver and put it all over my lids.
01:28 Next I used Ofra Cosmetics Professional Palette, as you can see I used just the jet black colour,
01:33 straight black, and I put that sort of on the outer, maybe the outer three quarters
01:38 or outer half of my lid in the crease, and then I put a line underneath my eye as well.
01:46 So with the line underneath your eye, just go as thick as you feel comfortable with.
01:51 For me personally, I like it pretty, I like it to be quite dramatic so I go pretty far
02:01 down, but if you're not comfortable with that, then just do whatever you feel comfortable
02:09 with.
02:10 After that to darken up the line underneath my eye, which you guys are probably thinking,
02:17 "Oh, she probably doesn't need to do that", but I did it anyway, I used a Beautyworks
02:22 eyeshadow palette, as you can see it's kind of got that more darker colours with it, and
02:27 I used a really dark purple and just mixed that in with the black underneath my eye.
02:32 Then to highlight my brow bone and my inner corner, I just used the white eyeshadow.
02:42 And I kind of do a blend as you go sort of thing, so that's why I'm not blending now.
02:48 The next step I did is a step I made, oh sorry, the next step was eyeliner, so I used just
02:54 the Maybelline Unstoppable eyeliner, it's like an Onyx sort of cream pencil liner, and
03:02 I lined my tight line and my waterline as you can see.
03:08 And then I used a Beautyworks mascara on both my top and lower lashes, just to get that
03:17 extra volume.
03:21 And I don't think Avril really wears false lashes, I don't think, I think mascara does
03:28 the trick just fine.
03:29 The next step I did was actually supposed to be the first step, but I totally forgot
03:32 about it, it doesn't really matter though, and I used a Rimmel bronzer in Sun Bronze
03:39 to contour my nose, cheekbones and jawline, just using, as you can see, it's just sort
03:46 of like a blush brush that I got from Beautyworks as well.
03:51 And I blended that out using a Beautyworks, a Elizabeth Arden brush.
03:57 Then I used the Maybelline Fit Me blush in Light Tan, Light Nude or something like that
04:03 I think it's called, just all over my cheeks.
04:06 And then for lips, Avril doesn't really have a dramatic lip colour or anything like that,
04:10 so I just used a Shishi lip gloss.
04:14 It's just a very light nude pink sort of colour all over my lips.
04:18 And now we move on to the hair.
04:20 So I started by blow drying my hair, obviously, because it was wet, and Avril usually has
04:26 like dead straight hair.
04:28 So I like to straighten my hair in three sections, bottom, middle and top.
04:33 So as you can see I've parted the first section.
04:38 And I just use my Remington straightener to straighten all the crap out of all my hair.
04:45 So I just go right over and try to get it as straight as possible, because that's generally
04:52 what Avril has.
04:56 And so this is the last layer here, which I generally like to be a little more careful
05:03 with because it kind of determines how the hair sits in a way, like whether some parts
05:10 are going to be on one side or not.
05:15 And then if you have a fringe like me, I prefer not to move my fringe out of the way, so I
05:20 just straighten it and then I brush through to make it as neat as possible.
05:26 So I hope you guys like the video and if you do give it a thumbs up and subscribe and comment
05:32 below if you would like to see more tutorials and just what you'd like to see on my channel.
05:40 And I'll talk to you later.
05:41 Peace!
