"Home grown" 1972 was the second album released by the married couple Booker T & Priscilla (Coolidge) Jones. Being married between 1969 and 1979, the pair released as duo three albums: "Booker T & Priscilla!" in 1971, "Home grown" in 1972 and "Chronicles" in 1973, which included the song "Time", written by Priscilla's sister Rita Collidge. The song was already being borrowed by Rita's boyfriend drummer Jim Gordon (formerly of Clapton's Derek and the Dominos) and became the famous instrumental piano coda at the end of "Layla". After having produced Priscilla's 1971 debut album "Gypsy Queen" Booker T Jones also produced Priscilla's final solo album "Flying", in 1979; their marriage ended that year. "Home grown" is different from their debut album; much mellow, more gospel influenced, with lots of sweet organ lines, and with a beautiful mix of spare vocal approach.
