A British Grand Prix catamaran team crew member was filmed dramatically going overboard at 30mph - but miraculously avoided injury.
Matt Gotrel, 33, from the Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix team, was thrown from the boat and repeatedly bounced up and down into the hull while attached to a safety line.
The incident occurred on Saturday (February 18) during the Australia SailGP, in Sydney Harbour, as the British team were approaching the finish line at speeds close to 30mph.
Teammates quickly pulled Matt from the water and managed to eventually cross the finish line in an admirable 6th place.
Matt, from Chipping Campden, Glos., tweeted: "Some places aren't for standing! Top work by the team to get me back on board and finish the race.
"A few dropped points, but thankfully just some bruises to bring home!"
The event was marred by technical issues and many near-capsizes due to volatile weather conditions with the second day of racing being cancelled.
